Wynaut's a pretty relaxed Pokemon. He doesn't do much with his life other than make everyone confused with his speech. "Wynaut?" He always says to others. They always respond with, "Why not what?" and the conversation keeps getting more confusing as it continues. One day, Wynaut finds himself in Equestria. Will the residents of Ponyville be completely confused by the little blue Pokemon, or will Wynaut just end up making the whole world begin to crumble and explode?

Equestria didn't know what to expect. The Griffin nation had grown tired of politics. They wanted land and they wanted it yesterday. The Diamond Dogs were tired of being cut off from the prosperous wealth Equestria had to provide. Even a few ambitious dragons felt they wanted in on the action. With enemies on all sides and the arrival of war becoming inevitable, Princess Celestia decided she needed to use the elements of harmony to summon a hero.
They got me, and boy are they in for it.

I don’t question the “life” bar floating over my head, or my “EXP” gauge, or the little phantasmal boxes that appear whenever I look at an “equippable” object that show its “statistics.” It’s normal for small messages to appear in the sky every now and then, such as [System update in 2 hours.] My kind worships the Developers, higher beings that direct, create, and control everything we see. It’s all normal. This is how things have always been, since I was born. My father, my grandfather, my ancestors have all accepted and coped with these elements.

So why does everything feel so... fake?

When a wing of Wonderbolt-wannabes challenge the Wonderbolts to a race, they mention how the Wonderbolts are a lie. For a brief moment, Soarin, head of the Wonderbolt wing, flashes back to their life from foalhood to now, remembering how they became the best through controversial means under Princess Celestia's explicit permission.

Disclaimer: I know there is at least one other Taking Flight inspired fanfic and the writer claims he knows the backstory of the song and all that. I don't care. Let them write their story and let me write mine. Mine is based entirely off of the images I got while listening to the song a few times in the mix of my other music after moving on from Fallout: Equestria (theme of the FO:E Wonderbolts). If there are similarities with other Taking Flight fanfics, that is either concidental or they read my story and took from it. In ancient times it was said a race of warriors, hailing from an alien world once walked the ground of old Equestria.
They were called the Silver People, a race of bipeds with glimmering armor and swords that came and assisted the alicorns during a time of great peril.

But even after grand victories and countless deeds, their kingdom lasted only for two-hundred years when according to myth, they had turned to the dark path they once swore to fight.

Millennia later, Twilight Sparkle's curiosity gets the better of her, and she is fully determined to learn what drove Mankind over the edge, and their fall.
