Long-distance relationships are tough; for most people, regardless of how intense love may be, it doesn't make the lack of physical contact any less unnerving.

Now at the illustrious Manehattan University alongside Twilight, Sunset begins to feel the heartache of being separated from her beloved. Having only recently moved away from Canterlot, these next four years would seem unbearable had it not been for her friend's support.

Everything is perfectly fine at the school of friendship, that is until a strange virus breaks out. The entire school is put in quarantine, and no one is allowed in or out. The virus infects all the ponies in the school, but luckily Mage Meadow had come along to help, along with a certain zebra. Hopefully, the two can find a cure in time.

The introduction of magic to the human world changed everything.

Think about that for a moment. Everything. Economics, physics, hobbies, no part of existence was completely untouched by the transformation. Not even the smallest details.

Sweetie Belle's about to experience that firsthand.

A plague has swept through Equestria, forcing everyone to stay indoors for their safety. Resident bookworm Twilight Sparkle has no issue with a bit of quarantine, she's been meaning to catch up on some projects after all. Resident Princess of Friendship Twilight Sparkle however... she does not deal with the quarantine blues so well.

Twilight Sparkle is bored while in quarantine, but thankfully she has a new spell, one that will help her visit her friends. Or at least, thats the plan anyway.

When Cloudsdale's water supply is contaminated by industrial runoff, chlorine seems like the natural choice for disinfection. Celestia sends four cars of it to the area, shipping via the Equestrian Railway. Now, chlorine is highly toxic, and, in nature, takes the form of a gas. And when the line breaks down at the one station between the two cities, you have a recipe for disaster.

Meanwhile, Twilight Sparkle is preparing for a busy day of experiments. She's ready to log everything in her daily journal. But the sound of screeching metal interrupts her work, and she and all her friends head out to see the commotion.

Five months later, a decon team from Canterlot discovers Twilight's journal. Adding it to other documents they've recovered, they may be able to piece together just what happened during the Ponyville Quarantine.
