Applejack has always been a patient pony; it came with being a farmer. So when the farmer found herself falling head over hooves in love with her best friend, she was content to wait for the right moment to tell Rainbow Dash how she felt.

But now time is running out, and Applejack is left scrambling not to find the perfect time, but any time at all.

Applejack and Rainbow Dash have been marefriends for a year now and they couldn't be happier. So why does Applejack seem worried one evening after the two have shared a wonderful picnic?

Written for the 2013 AppleDash contest.

Rainbow has always said that she'd go anywhere with Applejack. This promise has led her to the Pies' rock farm as Applejack and the rest of the family go to support Macintosh during the Choosing Stone Ceremony.

But of course, there's more than just watching going on. On the rock farm, there's time to just... talk.

More of an experiment in dialogue-heavy chapters than anything else.

As Applejack manipulates Rainbow Dash into participating in four challenges devised by their friends to test them in new and unusual ways, Rainbow finds the path to winning is tougher than she expected.

The stakes only get higher as Applejack reveals her hidden attraction to Rainbow Dash.

Competition. It drives us all one way or another. Whether it’s to be the fastest flier, the best team, the greatest magician, to steal a land in jealous fury, or simply to beat that other pony to the stall for the last carrot; competition is in all of us.

Some claim that a competitive nature is healthy, and keeps a pony sharp and fit. Others claim it drives ponies apart and should be avoided as much as possible.

Rainbow Dash and Applejack don’t care about any of that. They just don’t want the other to win. Theirs is an unending game of friendly one-upmanship, a constant striving to prove their superiority to one another for no other reason than they can.

Neither of them thought it would ever bring about romance in their lives.

A/N: I wanted to try something entirely safe for work again, and here we are. Not completely happy with how it turned out, so sorry about that. A (hilariously belated) birthday gift for the amazing RatOfDrawn, who draws cute ponies and has a bit of an AppleDash fetish.

Applejack has always struggled to make ends meet at Sweet Apple Acres. After the chaotic events of the Grand Galloping Gala, she returns home to find her farm experiencing a stroke of good luck. Applejack celebrates her fortune with all her friends, all except for one. Rainbow Dash has gone missing, and Applejack decides to find out why.

Applejack starts the day with her normal routine, but things change whenever Rainbow dash shows up to hang out with her and spends the night.
Rainbow dash has a bad feeling about how things are going to play out as the day progresses, will things turn out alright for this little cyan pony?

Applejack and Rainbow Dash have been dating for a while and things seem to be going pretty well. Every time they can't come to an agreement on something, they do random competitions, just as they always have. This time around is no exception. When they can't compromise on a dating spot, they decide to do what comes natural. Who will win? Applejack? Or Rainbow Dash?
