It's Hearth's Warming in Ponyville, and Pinkie Pie is pulling out all the stops to make sure that the party at Sugarcube Corner is the best ever. Unfortunately, the hectic touring schedule of the Wonderbolts means that Rainbow Dash might not be able to attend. Scootaloo, hoping to spend some precious holiday time with her friend, idol and adopted big sister, is left miserable by this news. Rainbow Dash wouldn't be Rainbow Dash, however, if she didn't have a surprise or two in store for her.

Discord wants Twilight to hit him. Twilight thinks there has to be a catch. Set in the same continuity as my TNG crossover fics, between "The Princess and the Dragon" (and also "Discord's First, Last and Only Friendship Report") and "The King Who Would Be Man", but Discord being Q isn't relevant to this specific story.

A zipped copy of a WMA Audio file of me reading this story is now up on my web site, but be warned, the zip file is 28 megs. (The WMA is a good bit bigger than that.) I have an MP3 version as well, but it was both larger and less compressible, so I went with the WMA version instead.

Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo, are probably the most adventurous, and probably the most daring, fillies in all of Ponyville. Or Equestria at that matter! However, if they aren’t busy crusading for their Cutie Marks, they would be looking into a pond in between their houses.

The residents were confused when this started happening, but never dared questioned it. It was a relief, actually, less time they had crusading, less mischief and chaos that would happen in town.

Although it does beg the question, what is special behind this seemingly normal pond of water?

Well the key may be simpler than you think...

It takes a lot to be the mayor of a town like Ponyville. You've got to keep a level head in even the most crazy of situations. And believe me, a lot of crazy things happen to this town all the time. Why just the other day... what's that? A monster is attacking? Yes, we get that a lot, but don't worry. Princess Twilight and her friends will take care of it. They always do, after all!

What's that? They're busy with something else right now? But... but then who's going to take care of the monster?!

Just a one shot that wouldn't leave my head until it was written. I hope you at least get a giggle out of it!

Apple Bloom was starting to get suspicious. No pictures of her with her parents, no stories about it, no flashbacks where she appeared together with them. So she took matters into her own hooves, and had some tests done in secret, with Twilight's help, to determine her actual relation with her supposed family.

The results were... certainly unexpected. Interesting, to say the least. Absolutely devoid of any logical sense, more appropriately.

Rarity wakes up one morning to find out that she's a trash can.

It's not good.

It's December 24: Hearthswarming Eve. While most ponies are doing some last-minute shopping, or trying to get that last bit of work done before a glorious week off, the homeless of Manehattan are all scheming up ways to avoid the annual post-New Year's blizzard. Some will head south to warmer climates. Some will rely on the kindness of others. But Lima Bean?

Lima Bean has a foolproof plan all her own.
