What if Applejack and Rainbow Dash had been too late to save Twilight from her fall in the Everfree forest?
Everypony has one 'Longest Night', a night that just never seems to end, whether they want it to end or not. For Celestia, her Longest Night began on the first night she had to raise her sister's moon.
Heartbroken and filled with despair that she may never see her sister again, Celestia makes a wish upon a falling star to see her sister one more time. Little did she realise that the stars listen.
A one-shot story of two sisters, and one Faithful Student.
Side-quel: Myths and Birthrights
Partially inspired by Ponyphonics amazing song 'Lullaby for a Princess'.

Special thanks to Honey Mead and Iroh for helping iron out some details.
Twilight Sparkle is dying. The pony body was never meant to handle her level of magic and now even the smallest spell causes her body to degrade. The only cure is to stop all magic use and hope that her body slowly heals itself, but things are rarely that simple. Celestia has fallen ill and her only hope lies in Yggdrasil, hidden deep in the Crystal Desert.
Twilight has always loved mysteries. Researching them, dissecting them, and finally, solving them. Almost nothing could compare to the joy she feels when finding an answer to a question no pony knew.
But there are mysteries with answers better left unheard, truths that aren't meant to be known. Now Twilight has solved a mystery with an answer she doesn't want, an answer she can never forget.
No pony can hold onto their magic forever. Inevitably, a pony's body will be broken, and their magic will return to the air and soil. Celestia has held onto her magic for a very long time.
After many long years of preparation, the time for Twilight to succeed Celestia as Bearer of the Sun has come. But as the abdication ceremony in which Celestia will relinquish her power approaches, Twilight begins to desperately search for a way to stop the dread ritual of the ceremony and save her friend.
Celestia reflects on a recent letter, and ponders an age old question. When there is nothing wrong with you, how can you be in complete agony?
Written for my dear friend, Foals Errand, as a gift to her while she thought on terrible news. Fortunately, the news was proven as false.
Artist never got back to me about the use of the cover art, despite having messaged them over a month ago.
The Elements of Harmony: A force of good, who can do no harm, right?
Gravity must be thankful it's just a neutral force.
Alternate ending to S1E2. Written for the Tenth Bimonthly Twilestia Contest and as JKinsley's (late) birthday present.
Celestia once warned Twilight Sparkle to beware of love, because love is the cruelest teacher. Love would unmercifully remind her that immortality comes with a price.
Twilight visits Applejack in the hospital one last time. It's time to say goodbye, and to pay the price.
If you haven't already, watch the episode 'Magic Duel' before reading this fic. Thanks for reading!
