Hearts and Hooves day has been an Equestrian tradition for some years, and for as equally long, it has been quasi-tradition that the sister rulers of the fledgling Equestrian nation have never been adorned with the title of being another's 'special somepony'. This year, Princess Luna has her eyes on the pink-maned Alicorn she rules beside and has her heart set on breaking the tradition of the two being alone for that special day.

After the Elements of Harmony removed Nightmare Moon from Luna, she is weakened and a lot less powerful than her previous self. Celestia is there to help in the process, and Luna transforms into her revitalized, previous form.

Celestia decided to cave in to her younger sister's curiosity for Star Swirl's old magical technology. Now, she's temporarily stuck with Luna and Discord in energized space-time bubbles above Canterlot, forced to watch the most bizarre (and to a select few apparently, the most romantic) film ever made:

I wrote this to celebrate both my birthday and Valentines' Day today, and it's probably one of my most outlandish stories to date. Contains a tiny bit of Luna x Discord (Because why not?) Happy Hearts and Hooves Day!

1,000 years of banishment can really force a pony to rethink her life's choices. Now that she has returned, Princess Luna is starting to realize everything that she has missed since her departure, including the death of her beloved friend Snowdrop. As Luna and Celestia release Snowdrop's very first, and last, snowflake, Luna yearns to say goodbye to her beloved friend.

But doing so may prove to be more dangerous than Luna imagined.
