Migrating To A New Personal Website Soon! · 10:33pm Jul 8th, 2021
Hi, everyone!
This has been in the works for quite some time, and it’s finally reached a point where we’re nearly ready to launch. Plus, I just feel like now’s the time to do so.
Essentially, I am getting ready to migrate my content to a proper, personal website! Back in 2019, my good friend Tetrakern approached me with the idea of helping me build a website to be able to show and display my works (fandom and original).
This website, once it launches, will become my main writing space. I’ll blog there, post my stories there, etc etc. It will probably be where I post one-offs as well.
What does this mean for Fimfic?
Firstly, I’d like to start by saying that just because I’m migrating over there, I will not be deleting my stories here. Likely, the only fics I’ll be moving/copying there are the ones I’m very proud of. The others will stay here.
Additionally, even though this won’t be my primary website anymore, I’ll still be updating all my unfinished stories (including The Enchanted Carousel). I recognize that though this website right now is not good for me, I’m still committed to seeing my current stories through.
That’s actually the crux of it. This place is just, right now, a source of stress, but I value you, my readers, a lot. Y’all have been with me as I’ve grown, and now that I’m taking my next steps as a writer, I still want to do things right.
So, I guess all in all, nothing will change except for my engagement here? I’ll basically treat Fimfiction as an archive of sorts. My current ongoing stories will be updated here (after I’ve updated them on my website), but it’s likely any new stuff will be kept to that website. As I try and grow as a writer, I want to be able to showcase my stuff and do original content, and honestly just blog about whatever I want, so this feels like the right choice, and it will also help me as I work through my validation/comparison struggles.
This isn’t to say I’m closing the door here. Just, right now, being here is not being proactive towards my writing. If stepping away is what I gotta do to be able to go back to writing quality content, then I’m happy to do that. I may do some blogposts, but only if they pertain to some important writing announcement, or some other event.
Anyway, now that Crimson is done, I’ll be investing my time in making sure the website is ready to go very soon, and I’ll probably kick it off with the first main chapter of TEC! When the time comes, I’ll be linking you all to it and I’m excited for y’all to come with me on my next step as a writer!
But until then, I’ll still be posting here. Fimfic’s not rid of me yet.

This looks great, Mono! You have always been a terrific writer and I hope the website brings more followers to your wonderful stories.
Does this mean that the sequel to Crimson Lips will only be on your site and not this one? Just trying to make sure I know what's going on.
But in that way you may lose some views.
People may do not know your website and can't find your updated stories there (except for your loyalest followers). You know many views are contributed by "passers-by", right?
Either way, just do what you want, but be careful.

My current unfinished stories will still be updating here on fimfic, it’s just the new stuff that will only be there.
I appreciate your concern! And I know that’s a risk I’m taking. The truth is, Fimfiction as it is right now, is just... a lot is happening in it that is making coming here just not good for my mental health. I don’t want to go into details, as that isn’t the point of this blog, but suffice to say I know the sacrifice I’m making.
The flipside is that if I didn’t detach myself from this website, at least as my primary source, it’s likely I would give up on my stories. Me stepping away and using this only as an archive and a secondary website is the best thing I can do to make sure you all get content at all!
I will also work on something so people can subscribe to it and get updates, whether it be a mailing list or something else! Please don’t worry! I will figure something out and market myself in other ways <3

The sequel to Crimson will still be posted here, as I consider it a series? But it’s likely at some point the only active stories from me will be Sapphire and TEC.

Perhaps you could post a blog here once a month or so to give FimFic readers a heads up to what you’re currently writing on your website and possibly attract new people who missed where you went.
