The roller-coaster continues · 3:19pm Aug 7th, 2019

Bronycon was straight-up one of the best weekends of my life.

I'd love to gush about it. And I will! But I've been home for less than 24 waking hours. And in that time, I have:

  • Called 911
  • Threw out a friend's back (not related to the above)
  • Had my rent raised
  • Discovered a black mold infestation
  • Cleared out some lingering emotional baggage from my two-year-old divorce
  • Comforted a sobbing friend, twice (not related to the above)
  • Jerry-rigged a new network setup for my workplace
  • Been assigned a huge, urgent documentation project

Please be patient as I curb the flames.

(I know some of you are waiting on the edges of your hooves/claws/toes/etc to buy Songs of the Sisters. If you want to both support me and get an autographed copy, please hold out one more day so I can get the logistics straightened out. If you want it as fast and cheap as possible, RBDash47 just posted the second printing up in the PFP bookstore, where it's being sold at-cost.)

"Sweet crystal pony Jesus, horizon," you may ask. "You called 911? What happened? Is everything okay?!"

Downstairs neighbor went into diabetic shock. I was second on the scene and first to know her medical history, so I had to handle medical escalation (and summoning family).

Some glucose pills brought her around, and she was fully lucid by the time paramedics arrived.

The black mold is probably the largest danger. Good luck with the downpour.

Hugs, my friend. And in time, this too shall pass.

Keep on keeping on. and good luck

The tales can wait until after the rest are finished.

Good to hear, that was the first thing I wanted to know, that everything is okay.

When it rains, it pours. But you've made it through rougher times. Hang tough!

Dear God..

Fortunately, we're in a dry, sunny area of the country and the mold is a migrant from a house in a wetter area, so hopefully quarantining and throwing out the furniture in question will be sufficient to avoid spread.

5101403
That certainly sounds less expensive than tearing down a wetwall. On the plus side, it's not likely to spread through a clean dry living room.

Put any thought into buying instead of renting? Home equity is a nice thing to have

Yeesh. That list of emergencies sounds like the worst sad-fic madlib ever; I’m sorry that’s what you came home to :fluttercry:.

Good luck, and take care .

Yowch. That's a rough series of events to follow Bronycon.

You laugh, but "have in writing everything necessary to do your job, by Friday" is no joke.

(My job is secure. We're expanding.)

That's quite the hectic 24 hours. Wish you luck getting through the things not already resolved.

Awesome. See if you can get your job title and pay grade to expand in the process :)

speaking of home emergencies, i came home to find the hardwood floor buckled in the middle of my living room. No idea how that happened, but it's going to be fun to pull everything up

Wow, that's quite the unexpected list to handle. Sounds like you have come through with flying colors, though!

Take care, stay safe and good luck. We're here for you.

And it was great to meet you at the convention.

horizon might not be a changeling (which remains debatable), but either way he is clearly a spy. Put all of this in the script of a spy movie and tell me I’m wrong.

Good luck, buddy.

Oof. Here's hoping sorting everything out goes smoothly.

Yiiiiiiikes.

But, hey, least it seems manageable.

I very much hope that things can be corralled back into some semblance of order soon!

Thank you for chatting a bit and indulging me with an autograph and picture this weekend. I regret not being a more coherent conversationalist more of the time, but it was a colossal thrill to get to meet you.

Wow and yikes, in that order! :pinkiegasp:

Wow. Sounds like Lady Luck was clearing her backlog. :rainbowderp:

Here's hoping for a speedy success in clawing your way through that cavalcade of calamities.

This is the day of con blogs consisting of "con was great, home is major crises, bye!" c.c

Mentioned this to my mom, she said something about putting your rent in escrow and demanding the mold be fixed before paying the higher rate. c.c I do not understand words, but it's a major health hazard, so.

Thanks for the advice. Would be following it if mold was in the walls. It's in furniture that just arrived from elsewhere and is now destined for the dump.

Ah. That's a slightly different matter, then, I imagine. :B

good luck sorting all that out. Glad you had a good time at the convention.

Eventually, life will be kind of normal again. Just keep holding on.

jesus christ, im sorry.

That's a yikes from me. Best of luck holding everything together.

My goodness! That’s a lot to deal with. Take care, do what you need to, and then take some much deserved rest. Hope things get better soon.

Oooh, sorry about all that. Good luck.

Wew, sounds like fun times. :/

Oh well, it can always get worse, right?

Bronycon was straight-up one of the best weekends of my life.

That's good! Looking forward to the gushing.

Jeez, though, at the rest. Good on you handling what you have so far well enough to even get this out, and best of luck with the rest.

Was very happy to have had the chance to talk a bit at the bookstore, and thank you for the excellent work you did both on the RCL panel and the script. All were con highlights for me!

WELCOME TO LIFE AGAIN FRIEND

Wow. Um, oh dear.

I hope handling all this turns out well. Though to be honest, I think you probably got this. :rainbowdetermined2:

Looking forward to continued seeing you alive and active such as might happen!
