Do we perhaps get to meet Cadance during this? I love that dynamic, and it can get only more interesting since Cadance has absolutely no idea if Sunset was even alive. Can't wait!

I can't divulge anything about future plans for the story, but I can say that you'll probably like the direction I'm planning on going with it.
I've read quite a few Sunset Shimmer stories, but this is definitely one of the first that stars her in a Triumphant!NightmareMoon alternate.
I am honestly curious about the circumstances of the setting, Equestria as a whole, the 'former' Main 6, and where this story could go. Sunset very clearly still has quite a ways to go for her desired ascension, buy that's the beauty of her character arc!
Please keep writing this story!!

No plans to stop writing this any time soon, but things are going a bit slow behind the scenes!
Sunset has got to be my favorite MLP character, despite my reservations about some of the canon content surrounding EQG. She's a fascinating character and I genuinely have a blast writing her and Trixie interacting. Those conversations are usually the parts of these chapters that come the most easily to me. [I do think I need to improve on the characterization of Trixie but that's a long discussion in of itself!]
As for the setting itself, I love my worldbuilding to the point of overexposition sometimes, so you won't have to worry about a lack of answers to questions.
Dropping in to say I'm liking what I've read so far and look forward to see how these two polar opposites get through this adventure. Mucho brovado Sunset is fun to read when she's being pitted against forces that really test her resolve. It opens up depths of her character that I don't think even she is aware of. Trixie is almost always a fun read for me and it looks like she'll be integral to the goings on.
Let's see where this leads us!

Sunset's certainly capable, but encounters like this are why she needs somepony like Trixie to keep her from getting her fool ass killed.
It's a grim world Sunset has found herself into, but I'm still liking where this is going. Our fiery mare has a long road ahead of her if she's running into roadblocks already. All the more reason to see how she rises up to the challenge!

It's a dynamic I love playing with; the character who's arrogant and has the chops to back it up, and the character who's arrogant but can't back up their claims. Sunset just hasn't had the practical lessons in common sense that Trixie's had!
Next chapter there'll be a lot of exploration of their dynamic, to say the least.
