Taking the Alt Universe tag at face value, the first thing that seems off is the timing and the ages.
In the show, Apple Bloom is at least 10 years younger than Applejack but in this story, they couldn't be more than 2 years apart in age if Apple Bloom was 10 with Applejack still a school age filly also and this was 15 years before Big Mac's wedding.
I've been told that the show takes place over a course of 3 years from season 1 through season 9, so Big Mac's wedding is roughly 2 years after Twilight first arrived in Ponyville.
Other than the ages being off, I like the premise and you got the accent correct. Curious to see where this goes. It seems obvious from the foreshadowing that Applejack killed her mother.

In this story, Applejack, during the flashbacks that take place in her foalhood is +15, Apple Bloom would be 8 or 9.
In the show, I have no idea how old each of them could be. I always thought that Applejack would be in her 20s while Apple Bloom was 14 or 13. I don't know what the ponies around 13 or 12 years old look like. I suppose they still see themselves as small as the Cutie Mark Crusaders, but the show doesn't go into that much in depth. I Forgot that everyone has their own headcanon; well, this is mine.

I try to base most of my stories with a at least a little bit from canon and from what I've read researching the canon, the main 6 are 21 to 25 and the Cutie Mark Crusaders are 10 to 12. Big Mac is a little older, maybe 27.
