A Different Kind of Warm

It wasn't very long ago that Misty Brightdawn declared her independence from Opaline Arcana. Now, she lives a much happier life in Maretime Bay with all of her friends.

Unfortunately, some aspects of life that are considered "normal" to most are completely alien to the sheltered Misty, and during a quiet moment alone with her good friend Anon, he learns what one such oddity is: affection.

And he is more than happy to help her figure it out.

It's interesting seeing how this story isn't too romantic per se, but that actually is what makes it work. Given what she's been through grand-sweeping gestures would actually be very off putting to Misty. She'd probably prefer a brief but honest chat followed by a hug instead.

I was going to make a Misty x Anon story too at some point with a similar concept. But I eventually decided to give it a different turn.

As long as they're kept far away from that rotten trash pony. Hitch should have thrown her out for ruining the party, but he's definitely Fluttershy's meek little descendant.

I like that more Misty fics are being uploaded, and including times where she's sharing her past. I like that it's short and to the point, but I really don't like the name 'Anon.' Anything would be better, John, Steve, Jason... etc. I know it's short for Anonymous who somehow wandered into pony land, but I just prefer a human with a normal name.
