I don't see Celestia as a tyrant, more of a pretender to the throne. Once upon a time she may have deserved the title of princess of Equestria but she, almost willingly, went down the slippery slope with little to no intention of ever trying to go back up it.
Really Luna, not even a week woman! Remember how well these things went last time!
Celestia has proved a weak ruler. Replace her.
To me, in this fic, Celestia lost all right to even call herself Princess after she sanctioned slavery.
I hope she, and all those that support slavery, get what is coming to them...

Angry face and that's why we don't succumb
To peer pressure
4150319 I've thought of this, and I have a solution. But you'll have to wait and see.
Da new chapt. is up *Squee*
*suppossed to be proofreading/editing backlog* Fuck it, Chains updated. *read mode online*
4150331 i find the more pressing issue to be that before humanity going to war with equestria was unlikely. now, well, centuries of slavery tend to leave people extreemly stroppy towards their enslavers, even generations after it's ended (case in point, real world human history). and with the ponies it would be worse cause it may be generations afterwords, but the person who at worst made it happen and at best refused to stop it, is an immortal, and just as accountable hundreds of years down the line as she was when she first did the deed.
4150417 well, not exactly a cure all solution like that. Mostly its the culture thing.
*Checks email* COULD IT BE?!?
*Looks at the chapter* IT IS.
AN UPDATE!!!
HOLY SHIT NEW CHAPTER

Travesty and war, come to all. Blood and honor stain the land. Many call to banner, but none see the power hidden behind. Behind all logic and all meaning, the trap is there, and now the hero has come. Now the hero shall have his strings put on.
There is always two sides to a story, I wonder which side the hero will follow, and what that hero's name will be. Fate and destinies strings are ready, then again all places all races and all beings have a hero a example of what is possible, and both live in both sides of the story.
Enough of my attempts of being poetic, and philosophical and to wonder
I know it to be truly hard to capture anyone entirely, and humans and just about every other creature out there, has always found ways to avoid capture, I wonder if a bunch of humans had escaped and formed tribes or gone to other races, be interesting to hear, or know.
Celestia is as she said a figure head, but she allowed a evil to take hold within her, Fear is a force that is hard to fight when you never knew it before. I am wishing to see where you take this story, it is a masterpiece thus far.
Gentle breeze guide you home, and a warm smile welcome you there.
Interesting. Celestia isn't usually portrayed as an incompetent weakling, and I'll be very interested to see where you take this portrayal of her. From her story, I get the impression Luna might have been the backbone of the diarchy.
4150304
Because the juice is sticky?
Considering we already know some humans are in hiding and free, I bet those who gave Luna the note are pro-human. That would explain why Celestia is seen as a tyrant, her being the one who allowed slavery in the first place.
There might even be a human city deeply hidden away somewhere for all we know.
I truly am discussed of how week and pitiful Celestia in this story, i truly hope she has the consequences of her action shoved down her throat and suffocates on them as what she has done is set right.
If Celestia was the moral pony she says she is, upon hearing about the council's genocide plans, she would have calmly agreed, stepped outside...then magically sealed the room and burned it to the ground with them inside. Instead, she's nothing but a weak willed coward who offered up an even more terrible idea instead of doing what was right. And that's assuming she's telling the truth here.
She may blame the council, but she's the one who failed to even try to put a hoof down. As for her being a Tyrant...assuming she was telling Luna the truth here, I think that reputation is more due to the continued corruption of the council who, naturally, shift blame for anything bad to her. Either way, I hope this resistance turns out to be genuine, but I get the feeling it's a trap by the council to give them an excuse to get Luna out of power before she endangers their own.
4150270
This time, not only does she have a just cause, but she MIGHT have at least some of the people at her back too...assuming it's not a trap.
Is Chains the prince of humans? (Side Note: Chains is my favorite wrestler)
I actually feel kind of bad for Celestia. I get the feeling that while this was all happening she was already a broken mare. With her sister banished by her own hoof she just didn't have the will to rule but had to stay in order to keep the planet alive. Not that I'm condoning her actions.
4150723
i seriously hope not as the former prince would have told celestia about any children he had before all the events. which would mean the council would know and most likely kill them off readily. but its not my story
You say the Prince dropped his weapons and commited suicide? You must not get humans very well.
If we're going down, we're going down swinging. That means killing as many 'pony bastards' as we can before we finally kick the bucket.
4150808 understand that he was in a no win situation, learned that his home and his people were being enslaved as they spoke, and was betrayed by somepony he thought was a good friend.
4150813 Even better to go out swinging. If you'd rather die than be enslaved, then prove it by going on a murderous rampage. He was betrayed by the very pony he thought the world of (I'm pretty much guessing him and Celestia were a thing based on what you put so far). We humans, while we are kind, can be vengeful and vindictive bastards when betrayed.
4150840 Perhaps he couldn't bring himself to fight against her? no matter how she's wronged him and his kind? Perhaps he could tell from how she spoke that she didn't like this?
I know that sounds like crap, and it kinda is, but you should understand, it is impossible to pin one personality trait on the whole of humanity. Rather than risk getting captured, fighting or otherwise, he'd rather ensure that he'd die on his own terms.
4150854 *Shrug* I didn't say he had to fight Celestia. But he could've gone out with a bang so to speak. Maybe grab a pony or two and take them with him off the edge.
While she deserves some pity, my rage at the whole deal far and away outweighs that. I hope for a bloody revolution.

Welp, I for one hope Luna just walks into the council chambers, declares herself not a Princess of Equestria and then smite them all in one go, before leaving with her held up high and tells her sister to fix the problem she started, cause she is not going to clean up her mess.
really though, this is a rather poor excuse for Celestia, one I hope Luna rages for awhile.
Wooo! Oh man I love this story! Yes! Yes! Yes!
Well, this is going to be interesting.

God damn it... I mean that's it, I don't even- Fuck
Ooooooh I knew this was going to happen. It was so obvious, but I wanted to believe. You see this chapter, and I'm not just being over dramatic or adding pure hyperbole, literally hinged on the entire success of this fic and the sheer weight of this chapter will haunt and inventibly crush all future chapters. And you can bet your ass I can prove it.
The crux of the issue with this chapter isn't really that difficult to figure out, especially if you have read the comments of any chapter. This fic primarily capitalizes on injustice and the cruel unfairness of society, which as you can tell by fimfiction comments people really get intense about. I guarantee if you were to go back to every single chapter you will find the majority of all comments (epically top rated ones) relating to the fact that either A. How could this society allow slavery B. That character is an asshole/just naive, because they support/don't really understand, slavery C. How could Celestia stand by slavery
So logically the the entire fic revolves around one single premise, justifying slavery.
Because that was the mystery Chains and that's how it grabs you. The problem with this chapter is it takes these really complex social and moral questions the fic has raised so far and answers them with these dumbed down and simplified outcomes which honestly are about as flaky as a freshly baked croissant. And since there are just so many issues with this I'm going to just have to make a list detailing most of them.
1. The paradox of Equestria's morals. Alright this one was one of the most interesting questions the fic posed before this chapter and heres why. You see their entire culture is literally built around the teachings of friendship, bigotry, and love
Now we know happens and that is that some humans killed a pony and ate them creating rising tensions. Now I'm not going to be the one saying "well it was just one pony that died so it isn't that big of a deal" since this must have been huge for them. Murder doesn't seem to be a problem the average Equestrians deal with. However what is the problem is they go from genocide, to ensalvement without so much as a single pony lobbying for peace. Not to mention Celestia doesn't want to be viewed as a tyrant if she forcibly stops slavery from ever happening (or you know she could protest, by not raising the sun), but Celestia and this small counsel by themselves will easily rush towards slavery and war, sounds like actions of dictators. You also made a big miscalculations concerning the citizens because if they were afraid of humans why the fuck would they want them as slaves? That would be like capturing a wild tiger and having it as a household pet "Here you go Billy your own Tiger! Just don't get to close to it's face or it will flay the skin from your bones!" And of course not everyone (or even really any majority) would be in favor of this decision since once again friendship society. And don't you dare use McCarthyism and fear as an excuse since those can only take you so far and slavery doesn't just happen it's a commitment. The ponies would have to carry this burden with them every single day and enforce the cruel reality of slavery which they don't have the stomach for (except canter lot). Even the American south felt guilt for slavery by creating nice excuses for themselves so they could sleep at night such as it was the lord's will. Where is Equestria's justification of this in the long history of slavery?
2. Slavery has been going on for as roughly as 500 years, to give you something to contrast that to, slavery in America lasted around 300 or so years. Now Celestia says that she wants slavery to end and has only "acted" once luna was freed. Okay for one Celestia has far more power then any of these wanna be kings, know why, she's immortal. She has time on her side and the most influence then any other pony in all of Equestria, she could have thought of something to stop this during the span of 500 years. She says she is just a figure head, but that isn't really true since at any point Equestria would definitely support her. Even if she wasn't there a civil rights movement should have taken place in every pony race by now.
3. The entire culmination of Celestia's betrayal of Taelon lasts about one page. It's basically just "how could you do this" "sorry could you just surrender" "jumps off cliff" "Celestia is sad" that's pretty much it. Now it's definitely got a lot of emotion in it, but it just passes by in the blink of an eye and Taelon doesn't even try to negotiate or attempt to belittle Celestia. Especially since this is apparently humanity's last stand, it's just very underwhelming.
4. Blame Celestia. It is 100% fair and justified if you were to say everything is Celestial's fault and people already are. The fact is she is frail, weak, broken, and simply pathetic. See spends this entire god damned story standing in place with quivering sympathetic eyes, as she just can't bear to witness the horror that occurs around her, mouthing the words "I'm sorry" as she cries to herself from sheer self-pity (this was from the chapter when Chains is whipped btw). Oh the pain, oh the guilt, oooooh~ it's just enough to make me want to faint
Overall this is a chapter that just could not bear the weight and expectations placed upon it, inherently hurting the rest of the fic just for it's simple existence. I just hope we step away from Celestia and the history of slave for awhile and just focus on the elements of harmony and interacting with chains because god knows they haven't been properly utilized yet.
This is no princess of the sun...this is a harbinger of slavery...
Sincerily it's a flimsy excuse for the slavery and it hurts whole story, not to mention that it took well 15 chapters just to get the first episode out. I just expected...more. It just fell meh.
someone once commented that
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
500 years 500 fucking years and did nothing celestia
please she is an alicorn had the time and the power
to remedy the evil she did
what celestia commented to his sister moon I think is a pathetic excuse
and now that she is free wants to help you in your problems
tsk that she will I cause to me is a weak ruler
celestia my review is 100% at fault
I think this would lead to a revolution
'the damage had been done...' boy, if i had a dollar for every time a Celestia used that... so why not repair? the pegasai clearly are pro-human, but being only a third of the country isn't all that useful... And really, Celly couldn't just fire the guy... out of a cannon?
It would be great if there was a part that were about Celestia trying to deal with the guilt and grief of her knowing she was the reason of one of her friends Death.
The people who stand aside and allow things to happen are the ones who deserve to be downed. I'm not liking Celestia much in this fic, she seems... emotional unstable (and I thought I was bad). What she did with the council was a smart move until they took control. A good leader doesn't get careless, they always lead with their people and allies good will in mind... that'd include the humans, they were allies to Equestria... Now the majority of the human population obviously useless. At this point it would be hard for them to rebuild an entire society. Perhaps I'm strange, but I wouldn't want to live around anyone I was enslaved by.
I'd be right beside the prince in this situation. I'd rather be dead then enslaved...
Hear that aliens? When you get here, take the shot... I don't want your crappy jobs....
Honestly... I'm going to say something I hoped I'd never have to say outside of a conversion bureau or Tyrant Celestia fic but, I really hope Celestia dies, like one of the slaves once freed snaps her fucking neck like a twig (Immortal doesn't mean unkillable if they let it happen.) Which will lead to everyone else dying because the sun just goes out and she'd have only herself to blame, you cannot expect a problem like this to be over just because you say "I'm sorry" and pray it ends.
Because the simple fact that in 500 fucking years she didn't do a god damned thing to fix the situation even though she's had all the opportunity too? Not to mention the motivation if her preaching her grief to Luna was anything to go on... so I really, really want Luna to tear her a new asshole verbally and likely slap her, say something along the lines of "You're not my sister" and go New Lunar Republic on her. (If the slave rebellion slaying her sun kissed ass doesn't happen.)
Please let the humans come back with avenges, and Luna and Chains as their leaders.
It would be an Irony that the Council worst fear will come from theirs action to prevent that.
I don't think there's much to say about this chapter. One thing's for sure - Princess Celestia's final verdict was depressingly anticlimactic. Her decision to convert sapient and noble creatures into mindless slaves was just so... ignominious.
The author did a great job portraying her as a weak and spineless excuse for a monarch, though. Kudos to him for that. It's a pretty hard job for a writer to make the readers hate the character so much, but he nailed it.

...aaaand pop goes the little gold star.
Sorry, gentlemen, but frankly I can't really stand stories where Celestia has less spine than Spongebob.
Let's keep it short and sweet.
I was excited for the next chapter
I got the next chapter
I liked it
More, now.
Okay, I have two things to say. First off - Celestia's a BITCH! Secondly - YAY AN UPDATE!!!!
Why was I not told of this story before!??! Its amazing!
This won't end well. I'm more than sure that there will be an uprising, and Equestrian state would be split. Furthermore, i'm sure, that there are other states, maybe even hostile to Equestria, and,by helping the uprising, they'll gain an ally,a " very hateful towards Equestria" type of ally. Situation like this took place in EVE universe, the Minmatar Republic was created like this, and they are constantly at war with Ammar Empire, who enslaved their people. And the Gallente Federation, the constant enemy of the Empire,by helping the Minmatar militarry and with the resources, gained a fierce ally, who will always hate their enslavers.
I fear, that this scenario could happen in Equestria, and the peaceful nation won't sirvive this, and the ponies can be even enslaved by humans/their allies. And there is always a scenario of the genocide, that is even worse. We have plenty of examples in our world(the USSR lost 17 million of civilians durning the war, the state didn't recover from that),that shows, what a disaster it is to the world as a whole.
The coup wouldn't solve the problems as well,it will lead to the civil war and foreign military invasion. To do something big like forbidding slavery the society must be constantly guided toward the idea of equality, or the ruler(the STRONG ruler) must have an experienced secret police departament to intimidate the opposition in the high class and strong police/military force to suppress the unrest among the commoners. I don't think Equestria has what it takes to end the slavery now. The only way I see to do this-propaganda of equality durning the life of several generations of ponies and make them WANT to end the slavery. Or reforming the government, killing/setting up/jailing the pro-slavery nobles, creating the police forces from Luna's and Celestia's loyalists and push the reforms that will lead to the end of slavery in two-three decades.
As I read this, the one line that 'humans became slaves to the ponies' disgust me. I for one don't get why the Council wanted this decision, although Celestia is the one who was the original plans. But, despite the fact of this revelation of this fic, can there be another world where we reside in, one so powerful that we will fight to the bitter end?
I would like to see if that happens, if possible.
Welp I think Celestia is forgetting one tiny thing about the what will happen when she frees the humans. They will never forget that ponies enslaved them. This will cause tension and in no time the humans will retaliate against them and possible enslave or kill the ponies. Either way the moment she decided for slavery the damage had been done and can never be undone.
