This story is a sequel to The Young Warrior: Ocellus's Path
Apex has never had to deal with this sort of emotion before - and that's saying something, since he's the son of what his Uncle (affectionately) calls "the Emotion King". But lately, when he's around his closest friend Zenith, he's been stricken by feelings he doesn't understand. He wants to tell the nymph how he feels, but doesn't want to lose him as a friend. When Zenith ends up in an accident that has him doubting in the guidance of their ancestors, Apex worries about when the exact right time may be... or if one even exists.

In the old system, as I stated back in Young Warrior and Fortuna's Promise, they start apprenticing nymphs at 5 years of age. Under the current system Thorax hasn't yet established a set age, because he's trying to turn it into a more "you can choose if you want to be a warrior" thing (that's a more implied thing at the moment, might mention it in a later chapter/story)

She appears in the first story, as well as Fortuna’s Promise and Pharynx’s Journey, but the majority of these stories focus around the new family her sons have found. She is mentioned in those she doesn’t appear in.
