It has been ten long years since her beloved husband Shining Armor had passed away, and Princess Cadance is just now starting to feel the sting of loneliness as her daughter Princess Flurry Heart now rules over the Southern reaches of Equestria and no longer lives with her... While the servants provide some respite, the truth is, the princess of love is now very lonely, especially without anypony to love...
Then, one fateful day, Cadance gets a postcard in the mail from Princess Celestia! It says she wishes to see Cadance soon... Cadance, with the empire more or less under control, can easily afford to take a trip without much trouble... She finally decides to take Celestia up on her offer, but what she encounters isn't exactly what she expects...

This story certainly has potential, but it's hard to judge it as it is right now. If this is meant to be a serious romantic story, then my immediate thought is that it's much too fast-paced. There is definitely some good dialogue in there, but there needs to be a bit more content for a standalone chapter like this. There are also quite a few mechanical errors, so I'd suggest you spend some more time proofreading for future chapters.

Well, the truth is, it's mostly Celestia being the aggressor here, if you read. She decided that after all this time, she was ready to tell Cadance how she felt. And she would also gauge and judge Cadance's reactions, to of course get a better idea of what she's dealing with. Honestly, I'm going to have a lot of fun writing this particular romance story and am particularly looking forward to Twilight's reaction...
Does Flurry Heart not exist in this story?

I mentioned that she was transferred to rule over Appaloosa earlier on. And Cadance does think about her right at the end of the chapter and I'll admit that this is foreshadowing what I have planned for next...

Update: actually, I think the beginning of the next chapter should be a hilarious conversation between Cadance and Flurry Heart... That's actually happening in my head as we speak, although I cannot control it...
