Will this story have a happy ending?

Intriguing and a little spooky. I like it! Are we going to see the darker side of Equis? The macabre? The primal? Short chapter but a good start. Keep up the good work!

Note the lack of the Tragedy tag

Going by the story title, I assume that Harry remembered he had a picnic scheduled today. I'm sure everything's perfectly fine, with no mortal peril awaiting these two at all. :scootangel:

Looking forward to the next chapter! Where is the cover art from if i may ask? i cant seem to find the image anywhere

I have the source linked, if you hover on the cover image and click "source" when it pops up. But here, here's another link: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/yEnrx

zecora's rhymes have been on point, I'm impressed
also the story is good

Welcome to Faerie, ladies, or something close. I’d say to enjoy your stay, but it’s not good to lie in these lands. In any sense of the word.

In any case, this is quite the predicament indeed. Hopefully Harry can provide a way out… assuming that’s him.

OH MY LORD! Another fellow author with an appreciation for this underrated franchise! Very Promising start.

A hauntingly ominous last line. The good news is that the place is friendly. The bad news is that being its friend isn't much better than being its enemy.

Also, the continuing invocations of The Teddy Bears' Picnic are strangely, dissonantly hilarious.

This is good horror. The kind that makes you fear for your sanity almost as much as your life.

Even after rejecting the forest, it had given Zecora the power to protect her.

She wished it had just let her rot.

Uh oh

I didn't type this out when I first read this opening chapter, but I love those first 4-5 paragraphs; it's just such a dynamite concoction of worldbuilding, characterization (for both Flutters and Zecora), and (possibly) foreshadowing. I seriously hope the "idly pawing" bit about zebras comes back in some capacity down the stretch; it's just too potent of a setup not to IMO.

[That being said, please don't feel obligated to quote-unquote "course-correct" with the remaining chapter(s) if it was just an aside and that's not in the cards. You do you!]

Either way, I'm looking forward to finally catching up with this. Keep up the good work!

Oh, this hurts. This kind of helplessness along all angles… I do hope this resolves itself soon. These two have been through more than enough.

It sounds like you have a sequel in mind.

I wonder if Discord might be able to alter this... but the key word is "alter." He can undo his own changes easily enough, but something else's could be a much bigger challenge. Especially something like Wyld mutation, given my encounters with it in other media.

In any case, fascinating little tale. I appreciate a horror story that inflicts nonlethal but still life-changing consequences on the characters. Thank you for it.

Hello! I've been reading and reviewing all the treefics, so here's yours. I liked this, both for making Everfree suitably worrying and for the characters you chose to team up. A pretty easy like!
