Haha yeah. The CMC is a really good plot vehicle for making distressing events happen. I was originally going to write this from the perspective of an original character filly, but found that people would relate to the CMC more having seen them on the show versus some character they've never met.
Felt a bit clunky getting going, but it is an interesting premise.

I imagine it would make for a lot of problems revising. Anyways, the main thing that struck me was when there was a sudden timeskip and then the CMC talked about a conversation they just had, creating an odd sense of story flow, and at the same time feeling like it would've been more interesting to just see Twilight responding to the CMC.

I think I forgot to implement the spacing when it came to the time skips. I'll add that now to make it less jarring. I wrote off the whole thing with Twilight because I felt it would've just been unnecessary as it would've been a predictable interaction. Typical Twilight butting heads with the less-knowledgeable and less-concerned CMC. I appreciate the concern though, skipping Twilight was intentional.
Oh, the stuff that will happen.... lets hope the Horned Serpent isn't interested.

I don't plan on "ponifying" existing concepts and ideas from the Monument Mythos, the only thing I borrowed was The Special Tree. I plan on introducing original ideas and figures heavily based on TMM, but I don't wanna just take Mister Manticore's work and use it as my own! That'd be rude. This is a crossover, not a ponified rehash.

Im not worried If you ponyfied the creatures/eldritch horrors, what im worried about us that the CMC may attract the Horned Serpent attention.
But my worry may be unfounded, since they can only attract the attention of the Horned Serpent only if It was still Alive.
As for the the story? I think this is a good plot and that if It is done right, can be a wonderfull story filled with horrors and magic.

The Special Trees in the Monument Mythos have the strange ability to shoot people into alternate universes with their lightning, so this veers heavily into alternate universe territory, not so much time travel.
