Graymane Shadow

“It’s terribly dangerous for an artist to fulfill other peoples’ expectations. They produce their worst work when they do that.” - David Bowie

Being Princess of the Night is something Luna was born to do.

She hasn't always been perfect at it, and the role has required her to do things she doesn't like to think about, but she does them anyway. Better her than her sister, the wise, perfect, bright as noon-day-sun Celestia, in whom there is no darkness at all.

Or so Luna thinks, until the return of an ancient evil forces her to re-examine several of her assumptions. For Luna isn't the only one with a dark side.

Great story! I love stories where Celestia and Luna can work together, something we don't have enough (plus showing their strength is cool too).

Thanks! I enjoy the dynamic between the two sisters, and while I understand why the show didn't delve into it very much, it's an area I think deserves some focus.

My next fic is going to focus more on Celestia, but I'm going to circle back to the pair soon enough, I'm sure.

I hate it when Celestia and Luna are not shown as equals like the show and comics.

Exactly! Many people like to potray luna as MORE, or less.

The description of Luna as a huntress, as a warrior, blazing with power - invigorating.

The image of the two sisters as their own unique embodiments of evil and hate was well done.
