Anything can be awesome when it's made of Lego.

E

(Takes place between LEGO Equestria Girls 9 and LEGO Equestria Girls 10.)

The Equestria Girls of Canterlot City's LEGO Team have been to many places and defeated all kinds of threats to the Lego World involving Equestrian Magic. Now, as the holiday season arrives, the girls decide to relax and celebrate by traveling to the ideal holiday destination of the Winter Village. As they spend a month at this special region, they'll find themselves on several misadventures.

Summaries of each short story:
Winter Blast: The girls ride the famous Holiday Express train to the Winter Village, but faced with a blizzard upon arrival and somehow forgetting to bring their winter outfits, they must brave the brutal weather just to reach the cabin they rented for their stay in the village.
Operation: Soufflé Delivery: Pinkie Pie is determined to finally bring her holiday soufflé to Rarity while it's still fresh, but she and Sunset unexpectedly find themselves forced to make the delivery run right through the middle of a snowball battlefield.
Past Reflections: While on her way to a friendly meeting with Twilight, Sunset encounters Emmet and Lucy from the former city region of Bricksburg, and as the four of them share stories of their past adventures, they realize they all have quite a lot more in common than they first thought, while also learning some valuable friendship lessons as well. (contains spoilers for The Lego Movie 2)
Secret Stash Recovery: To make up for one of her past crimes, Sunset decides to retrieve one of her secret stashes and donate it as holiday gifts for children, but when she's unable to find where she left that stash, all of her friends will have to work together to figure out it's hidden location.
Holiday Rush: The girls are ready to exchange some gifts, but Rainbow Dash had completely forgotten about the event and is now forced to quickly search through all the shops in the village to find one, and is ultimately left with no choice but to accept some assistance from the one person she never wants to be anywhere near.
The Ridiculous Robbery: The girls have been invited for the rare opportunity to tour Santa's workshop not far outside the village, but when a certain pair of robbers suddenly drop in and threaten to ruin the holiday for everyone, the girls must once again work together to save the day.

Going to take the girls so long to get used to Spike not being there to help, that when they go back theyre going to be asking him twice because they cant remember if they asked or not? :derpytongue2:

Rarity, in keeping up with forgetting Spike wasnt with them, forgot about her shield agaist diirect weather?:unsuresweetie:

God even I forgot about the jump gate. At the start I had some polar express vibes to be honest.

THANK YOU, I haven't seen one in a while, but I am still sick to death of Anon-A-Miss stories.

Okay, this was amusing especially that twist.

10479078 Rarity's shields would've done almost nothing against the cold temperature, and since they all just wanted to get to the cabin as quickly as possible, she was probably just too focused on her futile efforts to keep warm to even consider using her magic powers while on the run.

10479726 Even though I never saw (or read) Polar Express, that is exactly the reference I was going for. With a few Winter Village sets often featuring steam trains and my decision to make this place a secluded region in this Lego World, how could I not make such an easy reference?

10479756 I continue to check for new Equestria Girls stories every day, and I can tell you that unfortunately, yes, the occasional Anon-a-Miss story still comes up every now and then. And as I mentioned in the author's notes, I have in fact been asked by some people whether or not I had any plans to write such a story relating to my series. I decided to address the subject once and for all with a simple message in this story that reflects my own personal opinion on the matter; it did happen, but we don't talk about it anymore. If anyone ever wants to write a Lego Anon-a-Miss story, I won't stop them, but I can at least assure you that I will never write it myself.

10479810 I'll confess, with Twilight always having Jump-Gate access with her return device being such an obvious potential deus-ex-machina, it was really only a matter of time before I eventually wrote something that made full use of exploiting that advantage.

EG shorts are ideal for Lego Minifigs, cos they doont have knees? :derpytongue2:

Im trying to remember which advert has the air strike ducks. Carlsberg?

Its typical that the target for the delivery, is the person with the speciality required for delivering said delivery safely. But thats the whole joke? :pinkiehappy:

I think this turned out better than canon.

I'm a little surprised Sunset didn't ask why Pinkie mentioned the Dazzlings names as a part of her friends here when they are still clearly enemies.

Well that's turned out even more epic than original one, 't was nice to see some lego names in Pinkie's list, were the team colors supposed to be a TF2 reference or am I seeing things? And I'm pretty sure that your inspiration for snow tank comes either from lego Indiana Jones 2 or from first lego Harry Potter, don't sure which one but they both have winter levels (that's probably Harry Potter cause I remember for sure that there was a moment where enemies were throwing snowballs at you).

10501280 As I mentioned in the author's note, that part with the ducks was just something I came up with spontaneously when I wanted something funny to go with Fluttershy muttering about her team being "sitting ducks". Any other references you might try to connect are purely coincidental. (Though I couldn't help but imagine that "Ride of the Valkyries" music playing during their air attack.)

10502996 The same could also have been said in the official version. At least in this version (as you may recall from the Redeemables), Sonata and Aria are open to moving on from their evil past, while Adagio is still holding a bit of a grudge. Although in both versions, one has to wonder how Pinkie could even be aware of their no-longer-evil intent, considering she doesn't remember any of the time loops when she did encounter them at the music festival.

10503566 Red vs Blue is practically a universal standard of two opposing teams designated by color, so there's a lot of different references one could interpret from that. And yes, the snow tank (and the means of destroying it) was inspired by that one level in the first Lego Harry Potter game.

Yet another world building story in Cafe Tails? :pinkiehappy:

So many loose ends and notes woven together to tidy things up.

Emmets going to have plenty of cash to keep Lucy happy once that, or those, books published?

Eh I still haven't watched the second Lego movie, just don't have the right mood to watch something like this.

I have yet to see The Lego Movie 2 in its entirety. I sort of channel hopped to it at around the part where Rex rescues Emmet. :twilightsheepish:

10523720 Emmet's book is meant to be a lot like the Friendship Journal that was published by Princess Twilight and friends in Equestria, specifically that it's intent is to simply share his experiences so that those who read it could learn a few friendship lessons.

10524086 10524297 I had a feeling I needed to put a spoiler warning in the description, but I must admit that I'm a little astonished that some readers who've followed my series this far have still not yet seen the second Lego Movie, which I've acknowledged before will be (mostly) canon to my fanfiction series. I'll leave the choice up to you whether to watch the movie first or simply read this chapter without bothering to see the movie, but as far as specific spoilers, all I'm going to say is that the true backstories of Lucy and Rex Dangervest are thoroughly discussed in this chapter. (I would strongly recommend watching the movie first, so you don't end up confused between what actually happens in the movie and the stuff I added in for the sake of properly fitting it into my version of the Lego World.)

10535122
I've seen everything from Rex rescuing Emmett all the way to the end. I'm only missing the beginning.

That is such a classic, times change and so locations drift, even when you think you have them sorted. Quite a few large structures have moved over the years as well, Rivers, Dams, Waterfalls, buildings.

Pinkies lasagne got Garfieldd?:pinkiegasp:

As for the GPR, mostly theres flat layers. Was the trapdoor deep enough that the low level one used wouldnt actually be able to pick it up decently anyway?

Wonderful, though I was screaming "Rainbow, Pinkie you have PHONES just take a picture of this log!!!!"

“Dig a hole, dig a hole, dig a hole!” said Pinkie cheerfully as she flung shovelful after shovelful of dirt away from the dig site.

I think I saw that radar on an old MythBusters episode where Adam and Jamie where trying to see if a gangster's body was actually buried in a football stadium. I remember them testing it out on some concrete that they had poured over two pig carcasses. :pinkiesick:

I loved the addition of Mudbriar here. That was fun reference to the original series.

This version of the holiday special short story was way more entertaining than the actually special that was aired, those breaking and entering brainstorm to get the key were too boring to be an actually holiday special.

10547351 Actually, that lasagna gag was inspired by something from "Ed, Edd n' Eddy", an early 2000's cartoon that I used to be obsessed with as a kid. Specifically, there was a part in one episode where Ed pretended to be hurt and at one point needed to be informed that there's no body part named lasagna. I just decided to take it a step further with Pinkie by having her somehow have an actual lasagna on her. As for the GPR, they had no way of knowing because, as Sunset pointed out, Applejack didn't even consider using it to directly search for the secret stash underground.

10547769 They needed a perfect match between the tree rings, which meant that not only did they need a physical measurement, but also those phone cameras have a limit to their resolution that I believe would make it very difficult to find a perfect match to just one specific stump (in other words, the pictures would be just too slightly blurry to give them that perfect match they needed).

10547847 That "dig a hole" quote is actually another thing inspired from "Ed, Edd, n' Eddy", as it was often spoken by Ed whenever he had to do some digging. (You know, it's just occurred to me that even though I stopped caring about that old cartoon several years ago, it seems my obsession with it back in the day was enough to still have an influence on my writing.) Also, while I certainly remember the Mythbusters episode that used GPR, my main inspiration for including that here was mostly due to another show I've been watching recently, "The Curse of Oak Island" on the History Channel. In fact, that show is also where I heard about Dendrochronology, the study of tree rings, which gave me the idea of one of the tasks in this short story being to match a fallen tree to its stump, which naturally allowed me to give Mudbriar a brief appearance to provide his expertise on the subject.

The slapstick and the snarky commentary totally added to this story.

Let's see what you've prepared for the final of this short stories.

I loved this I bet there will be a 7th chapter to act as a possible epilogue or you do what you did for the first story and make it a story and an outro / intro

when will this story update also what's your favorite story
mine are winter blast and
OPERATION SOUFFLE DELIVERY/saving pinkies pie

I get this image of Spike vs Parrot, ending up Poly Estered.

Coveredin fibre stuffing.:twilightoops:

10570650 Good to hear that even all the way to the last of the parts based on the official content, my additions/adjustments/improvements are still regarded as essentially "better than canon". I just hope that once I move on to purely original content over the next few years, readers like you will still enjoy them just as much.

10572242 I've already mentioned that the sixth holiday short story will be the last one for this collection, and I hope to have it done by next Monday, one week from now. And if you really want to know what else I'll be writing later, just read my more recent blog posts where I outlined my plans for the remainder of my LEGO Equestria Girls fanfiction series over the next few years. In fact, I'm planning to write a new blog post at some point after I complete the last of these holiday short stories to update everyone on how I expect my upcoming progress will likely proceed, so please have some patience for at least a couple weeks and you'll get your answers soon enough.

A grand Christmas final with the two best characters getting a happy end for the very first time, yeah that's totally the best way to finish this collection. I still expect to see those two in the next stories Rocky and Mugsy are too good to just lie down.

A very nice ending for the Girls, and a new hope for the dirty pair? Or is the town they are aiming for, the Thieves Guild residential training area and retirement complex?:trixieshiftright:

10592745 I've always given those two incompetent crooks at least one cameo appearance in each of the main stories, and although I've yet to determine the details, I intend to maintain that trend for the remainder of this fanfiction series.

10595132 No, it's just a random nearby settlement from which they'll likely hitch a ride to one of the bigger cities, where they'll probably try to put their Christmas gifts to good use for yet another petty crime (although chances are they'll once again get away with nothing, no matter what they try).
