Non-grimdark Warhammer crossover! A bit 'Dark' due to violence, but otherwise not that bad.

Pinkamena Diane Pie, AKA Pinkie Pie, is a Mountain Earth Pony sworn to seek honour and death - one requiring the other - in battle as a Slayer. With her companion Rarity, a displaced former dressmaker and fugitive from the Canterlot Guard after an argument with an arrogant noble in charge of designing new uniforms, Pinkie seeks to brave the dangers of Equestria and regain her honour.

She....isn't doing a very good job.

Oh, she's got the laying destruction on evil and all that but the key part, the dying valiantly part, she doesn't quite seem to have grasped.

Watch as Pinkie takes the monsters head on with a giggle and a giant axe.

(On hiatus until I finish Justice Itself.)

Roster: Keep in mind this is very broad and not carbon copies of either character. The setting is thus very different.

Baddie Gods!
Discord - Tzeentch
The Smooze - Nurgle
Tirek - Khorne
Queen Chrysalis - Slaanesh
Grogar - The Horned Rat

a non-grimdark warhammer story? what is this blasphemy?

A pony parody of Gotrek and Felix? THIS should be interesting.

920056 It's probably because it's not 40k if I'm reading the summary correctly.

>>

920224 the fantasy universe is JUST AS GRIM. In fact I freakin love the fantasy universe way more because it parodies medieval histories across the world in a grim war-time setting where no one is safe. notice how the warhammer world map looks vaguely like our world map.

let the mind blowing start you off there.

40k in comparison.... is just ooooh lotsa ppl die in some far off world no one cares about.

920090

if its parodying the slayer books the characters should be the following.

gotrek-the old grumpy donkey from that 1 ep
felix-spike
Maximillian "Max" Schreiber-twilight
snorri-pinkie pie
ulrika maldova-rarity

920056 Blasphemy written for shits and giggles, plus the mental image that came to fruition in the cover image of Pinkie.

920269 I don't really think there's a 'should' for this, its something I wrote to amuse myself. I wasn't trying for a direct parody by choosing the characters 'closest' to be able to pull it off. Obviously, since Pinkie is Gotrek. Although personally I don't see it with Ulrika-Rarity, I really don't.

I also have to disagree with your comparison of Fantasy to 40K. While similar, obviously, both have become their own entities. The main difference is that Fantasy operates within the same place and time, with a much more limited area and events being much more connected. 40K on the other hand is made for a more epic scale with emphasis on how large the galaxy is to provide more then enough places to have constant war killing everything in sight. You're not really doing it justice with your description of it.

you should make a malus darkblade character he can have nightmaremoon in his head instead of tzarkaan

ayh

So I take it that Spike will be filling in for Kat?

920859 Actually, my original idea was if I get up to it to just skip the 'growing up' part for Kat and replace her with Rainbow Dash on the loose associations of Kat's style when she's all grown up she fights in using fast movement, hit-and-run tactics and a bow which traditionally send a very fast moving piece of wood and sharpened metal into people she doesn't like - in her case usually those rascals the beastmen. Twilight with Spike would fill Max's place.

Hm, thinking about it I could move Dash to take Ulrika's place as a female who isn't 'traditionally' feminine and likes to fight which would put Applejack with just Snorri's spot left to take and make Spike take Kat's place.

Oh, now whenever I eventually get around to doing more of this I'll have to think really hard about which way to go. Thanks for the suggestion!

920269 40k has people going to extremes nobody should have to consider. Servitors, Exterminatus, hell, when you see a chainsaw as a viable weapon, you know things a fucked up.

Anyways, let's stop the argument here. I don't know enough about the Fantasy verse to keep up a viable compare and contrast.

Since I have never read any of the Gotrek & Felix stories, I can't fully grasp the parody but I feel that it's a good story nonetheless. I saw the twist with the innkeepers wife coming a mile away but it was executed flawlessly. Also, I say keep the dark tag. Even if the characters themselves aren't very dark, the subject matter and background material are.

The only mistake I found in my first read-through, I'll look for more later.
The Paraspriteslayer looked up at him
Considering that the him in question is Rarity, I believe you meant her.

921471 In the original story the inn keeper's wife is wailing about her son "Gunter" being missing and he turns out to be an average member of the cult (which was a cult of Slaanesh, who can be best described as the evil god of porn and torture rolled into one terrifying, hermaphroditic god/dess of decadence) but I couldn't come up with a name to use instead of Gunter which would fit so I changed that a little as I did the particular deity being venerated. Made more sense to use Nightmare Moon since Nightmare Night was the closest to that original dark day on the calender.

The fact someone has actually said what they thought rather then commenting on the premise is nice, especially since you said its good which is even nicer.

As for the tag If I do continue, which might happen slowly and over time, it would get darker unless I put a massive amount of effort into redoing how it all goes than I have. One bright point is that rather than going off on their own after meeting as often they did the Mane 6 would stay with Pinkie & Rarity.

And you are correct, not sure how t used the wrong gender word there...
....unless Rarity has been keeping a secret....

If you count some of the stuff I have seen on the internet, I wouldn't be terribly surprised.

will twilight be teclis? because that works rather well (your thought process, excpet i hated what happened to Snorii. He deserved better [and we STILL DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM AFTER ZOMBIESLAYER :raritycry::raritydespair::raritycry::raritydespair:]).

YOU HAVE EARNED THIS WATCH SIR.

4597689 Actually, I intended Twilight (and possibly Spike with her) to replace Max Schreiber. Turns up more and such, has more appearance and all that. Since Sombra is this world's version of the Witch-King, Elves would be Crystal Ponies so Teeclis would probably be replaced by Cadance.

EDIT: Ugh, yeah, I want more on Snorri, damn it! I was thinking of Applejack taking his place, and having Dash replace Ulrika. I never really decided.

as I did the particular deity being venerated. Made more sense to use Nightmare Moon since Nightmare Night was the closest to that original dark day on the calender

Hmmm. I dunno, We're speaking about the calendar day of Geheimnisnacht, right? I always felt the deity being venerated most on that day was Nagash, the Great Necromancer. So a correlation from MLP lore would be Grogar the Necromancer, right? Not that I dislike Nightmare Moon by any stretch of the imagination. I just always associated Geheimnisnacht with Necromancy.

4617050 Pretty sure it was Slaanesh. Nagash isn't widely venerated, and isn't a god in the technical sense or Sigmar wouldn't have been able to smash his skull and permanently weaken him somewhat, and it is the night of the Chaos Moon. I'm pretty sure the particular cult Gotrek and Felix interrupt was Slaaneshi too, given the 'intimate' nature of their gathering.

4619504

Sigmar never fully recovered from his encounter with Nagash either. He never regained the pure strength he had before it.

"Only when the battle was over did Sigmar stumble and fall.

It took the man-god several months to recover from the wound Nagash inflicted and he never regained his full strength."

- History of the Undead (page 21), Undead Codex (1994)

I wasn't questioning what was in the Gotrek and Felix book. I just personally always felt that Geheimnisnacht was more a night of the undead, so instead of hailing Nightmare Moon on the night, Grogar was another option. *shrugs*

4619611 Ah, right. I'm pretty sure it's an overall night of evil, rather than any particular form of evil. There's more than enough evil to go around, after all. They all got a special night of their own it would never end! Might as well have a week of evil. It just seemed simpler and all to go with Nightmare Night for it. I do appreciate the comments though.

4619618

Aye. I do like Nightmare Moon. Can't help but wonder if she'll figure more in the story's future. Curse Rainbow Dash with vampirism or something. Hey, by my avatar she makes a good Thestral/Bat Pony. :pinkiecrazy::pinkiecrazy::pinkiecrazy::pinkiecrazy::pinkiecrazy:

And I think I know where I was getting my impression from. Looking through my old codex a bit more thoroughly, Geheimnisnacht figured heavily into Sylvania's lore.

It is said on the night of Geheimnisnacht, 1111, Morrsleib pulsed with emerald witchlight and a hail of incandescent meteors rained down on Sylvania. Astrologers and soothsayers prophesied catastrophe. This starfall was indeed a sign of ill-omen.

It was in 1111 that the first dead walked in Sylvania. Rotting corpse, marked with the black blotches of the plague, refused to stay in their graves. Death fathers came back to claim their children. Even the Ghouls fled from overflowing cemeteries and charnel houses who's inhabitants would not stay at peace.

and

On Geheimnisnacht in the year 2010 after the birth of Sigmar, the nightmarish truth about Vlad von Carstein was revealed as he stood on the battlements of Drakenhof Keep and intoned a terrible incantation from the pages of the Nine Books of Nagash. Across the land the Undead stirred. Skeletons clawed their way through the soft Sylvanian soil, Zombies stirred in their crypts, (and) Ghouls raced to greet their new master.

So that's probably why I associated Geheimnisnacht with the undead so heavily.
Useful quotes and reference material if nothing else. The fluff back in this codex was the stuff of legends, although I suppose I'm showing my age here.

Still, I do look forward to when you can continue this story. Definitely not your average crossover, and yet somehow to me Pinkie Pie as a slayer seems disturbingly appropriate... :pinkiecrazy::pinkiecrazy::pinkiecrazy::pinkiecrazy::pinkiecrazy::pinkiecrazy::pinkiecrazy::pinkiecrazy::pinkiecrazy::pinkiecrazy:

Why is this on hiatus? When will the hiatus end?

I could remember the original story's ending, so I got a chill when you mentioned it. I think Pinkie is quire a 'serious' Slayer already, from a chopping up enemies point of view, but Applejack would be good as Snorri. Especially if she's sensible, but Pinkie treats her as if she's stupid as the original Snorri. Nice that Pinkie referred to the omnibus, and the rewritten prologue. I wouldn't do every single Gotrek and Felix story, just the good ones; if you get to the one where Gotrek gets a bump on the head, would Pinkie become depressed Pinkamena?

7636792 If I ever picked this up, AJ might be a good one for Snorri like that, but honestly I imagined her as a certain Kislev warrior-woman. Though I was undecided when thinking about who could be who.

7639244 Twilight Sparkle for Twilight Snorri?

7639262 Heh, nah, Twilight Sparkle, Imperial Wizard slash egghead.
