"Oh hey, it must be Duke Nukem Forever! Imma read this."
ONE AGONY LATER
"I should not have read this."
Liked the part about him playing the game with his sweetheart. Maybe by the end of the week she'll throw him a bone. Or rub his. Giggity.XD
I sense a little thing about discord being mixed in...
Hmm... Honestly, I don't really have any idea as to how I should feel about this chapter. Quite a few things happened a little faster than they probably should have, but at least they were written well.
I agree with Namar. The entire relationship developed incredibly fast. I also find it difficult to reconcile Golden's demeanor with his age. Like, I get that he's perpetually twenty-something, but you'd figure his accumulated experiences would give him a bit more social decourum than this.
Smooth.
Still, the chapter was cute as shit, and a little naughty, and (at this point in this ridiculously long story) your writing ain't half bad. I have enjoyed it so far, and I will continue to do so.

Coming back after a year and a half, I find, especially considering the fact I was ignorant to the timescale and not (not ever had been) in a relationship when I wrote my last comment, that I was completely wrong. Everything is still well written, but I never considered it's been at least six weeks in-universe since the story began, and considering the fact Golds literally saved Fluttershy's life despite the fact she unfoundedly believed, thanks to Sunset's short-sighted outburst two or three chapters prior, that he was dangerous... Yeah, finding out not only is that belief wrong but that the man saved your own life from an accidental mishap resulting from your friends trying to stop said person from teaching you will kind of do that. Makes the whole sequence a lot more believable.
Granted, that kind of thing doesn't usually happen often here in our plane of existence, it is possible it happened to someone.
Also, regarding your comment of his supposed decorum, keep in mind it was stated in a prior chapter that Golds does not mentally age at all, and he described it somewhat like being stuck on pause. It's like suspended animation, except instead of Golds being frozen in time, it's more like time is being frozen in Golds, if that makes any sense.
So he was a world war two solider i wonder if he was a frogman or paratrooper. Incredibly high stakes jobs that had high mortality rates but could shift the tide of battles.

Nah, I bet he was an "Engineer", ya know, the kind of person that was working on some really secretive shit and so they couldn't say what they were doing and thus just went with "Nah I didn't do anything too impressive, just a plain old Engineer."
