I Thought I Was Toast

Insanity is just creativity to the nth degree.

To pick up this book is to delve into an abyss of the strangest kind. If you have read my beloved works before you know the dangers, but for those few who are new I repeat the warning all the same. For in the weird and shadowed recesses of my mind I dip my quill to weave you stories you are not meant to understand. Should the darkness of my soul spread from quill to paper to the picture in your head you may find yourself lost without a guide in the not-quite fires of Tartarus or beyond.

Can you find your way between the speckled stars filled with hope once lost?
Can you travel that frigid void in-between them?
Can you escape the twilight's glare of deathly red?
And -- most importantly -- can you dare to even try?
-Beloved Craft

Not much to say. I started reading Lovecraft recently and thought some dark short stories would be good practice when I'm not in the proper mindset for my other stories.

It is very loosely related to my other story dC/dt ≠ 0, but not in a way that you need to read one or the other. Unlike dC/dt ≠ 0, only the foreword is true in any way for the dC/dt universe. Except for the foreword, all the other short stories are just fictional pieces written by a fictional author in a fictional setting.

I like it. You have definitely captured the Lovecraftian essence, albeit in a more lyrical style. To be honest, your words flow just as well as, if not better than, certain Lovecraftian works. Not only does this help the story, but you also get the flavor of the author in addition to the inspiration.

All in all, I look forward to you delving into the secrets of insanity and throwing your soul to the winds.

Very Lovecraftian indeed
good read...

Wondering when this was going to be tied in.
