6885166 Potatoes are too lumpy and soft for building purposes. They'll have some decent agriculture, though, so trading crops for things like marble and gems with the nearby dragon kingdom should make for some rather pretty architecture all the same.
6885191 Good point, and unless you enchanted the potatoes with magic, they would probably become mashed potatoes quite quickly. Marble and gem studded houses could look quite nice.
