Pleasure to have worked with you Vi!
Also.. DID I WIN?!? Or did Calm do it first? :rainbowderp::rainbowlaugh:

Hmm. I know a lot of sign language since my little brother is deaf/blind. At first, I was really confused when my mom tried to teach me it around the time they first found out. I always wonder what his speaking voice would be like....

I don't know I only just popped on after eating dinner ><

5630379
Really? So I'm guessing you're fluent in your countries sign language?

5630413 Lol ok. No worries, I just happened to remember about that. :rainbowlaugh:

5630413 A large portion, yes. But, I am a bit out of practice since my brother refuses to listen. The usual words that I have to sign are "no" and "stop.":rainbowlaugh:

Yay! Being a student of ASL myself... though more in a field sence rather than school, I really enjoyed it. We need more stuff like this, teaching the beauty of the vast language that is used by the Disabled, and deaf.... and those of us who want to talk through windows without yelling.... or around everyone else.

5630422 Me too... Wait, and where... and... let's see...the numbers and colors and the word "Ready"

5630436

Wow thank you :twilightsheepish: and yes we do need more stuff like this out there. Funny thing is I had no interest in trying to write a deaf character (or touching Calm Wind's Misty Fly) until I started taking my class (an Interperting ASL class, so I could get my foreign language). I just hope I got the gloss right.

5630443 The ones I know off the top of my head are the alphabet, numbers, morning, afternoon, good, bad, yes, no, stop, my and my family's names, and sleep. If I sat for awhile and thought, I could remember a lot more though. :derpyderp2:

Is there a sign language group?

As i've told you many times already, very well done, and boy it sure gave me goosebumps to see my characters written by someone else :pinkiehappy::twilightsheepish:

Thank you so much for contributing!

5630536
Your welcome :pinkiehappy: and thanks so much for letting me contribute  I do have a continuation thought, but I think I want to see more of piercing the heaven's before I try and tackle it :rainbowwild: I'll be sure to let you know.

5630465 I have like 300 signs memorized. and I have a deaf neighbor, (Adult) That I talk to... often. Her daughter and I are a few days apart in age. Then I have three special needs friends that are ASL only. And I used to work in a therapy center where we used it a lot...

5630452 It's close enough. I personally have never seen it written. And my cousin who is an interpreter... I don't get to see her often, and the girl down the street... we don't often get down that path. Though I wish I could more often. I have sometimes wished I could spend a month with a deaf person... just for the experience.

5630616
Well thanks for that! That makes me feel better about my attempt :)

5630626 I might ask my friend, who's mom is deaf, to read it next time I see her. See what she thinks.

5630628
That would be very helpful :)

5630612 There are two deaf people at my school, and my mother used to take me to many, many conferences. The only really interaction with the deaf is really just my brother now.

5630672 I first learned because... well my dyslexia was a huge part. Also I had a lisp for the longest time... I had friends, and reletives who were deaf... so I simply learned. I remember a nursery rhyme video that I used to watch when I was little, where they'd sign, the rhyme. That was my introduction... then Signing time... and another show that was a story about a bunch of kids who met their deaf cousin...

:raritycry::fluttercry::applecry:..... The Feels Train don't stop even without Calm Wind as the engineer... Truly fantastic story. I may be a bit of a soft-hearted guy, but this brought me genuine tears of the best kind of sadness: the kind that lifts you up but reminds you that you are human.

Thanks

That's probably the best compliment I've had on a story. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

5631955 You are most welcome. I daresay this story was absolutely perfect to open the fan section of the Wonderverse.

5631975

I would most certainly agree ^_^

I adored this idea from the moment violet presented it to me. Offering a view from Misty, one of my most popular characters, and honestly I haven't written from misty's pov very often to keep her as "silent" as possible. So this was very fun for me to read as well :scootangel:

This story was interpreted really well. I'm glad to see the recognition that being deaf is not a disability... Deaf are not broken, they just speak a different language. Thank you for a great read. This is going in the favorites...

Thank you for the comment :) I'm happy to hear I captured what I wanted to capture.

Awwwwwwwwwww. Cute! I loved it, it was so touching  I love the depth you put into this small one shot.

incredible I don't know why I haven't read this yet, you got sign language spot on from what I know (I take classes and i work in a youth centre that centered anound the disabled)

5760642
Why thank you :) as for why you hadn't read it, it hasn't been on the site for that long is probably the reason :)

Finished reviewing story for the goodfic bin. I'm sorry it took so long (typically I review shortest to longest, and yours has been the shortest for a while) but I wanted to make sure none of Calm's stuff was submitted before I reviewed the story. The reason for this is because, his stuff having not been let into the group, or even made available for review, I can't treat the stuff in those stories as things I 'should' know going into the story.

Without knowing what happens in the rest of the Wonderverse, this story doesn't survive on it's own. It's for this reason that I can't let this story into the bin.

Details are here.

Thank you for looking at it. I'll try to fix the errors with it that I can. I don't think I can fix the wonderverse issue itself however, but if Calm ever submits his work I'll try again after editing

5839296 Sure thing: if ever stuff changes, send me a PM.
