Fluttershy is dead, A harmless joke from Discord ended in disaster when Fluttershy's panic got her and unforeseen circumstances came into play. As Fluttershy's astral body is about to leave the mortal plain after witnessing her own burial, she refuses, she refuses to part with her friends in such a way. Acting with her wish to stay, the element of harmony: Kindness, bonds with her very soul transforming her into the true spirit of Kindness.
With her new found ability to stay in the mortal plain, Fluttershy is determined to somehow, with the help of the elements, help her friends and other ponies from beyond her grave, as such is the spirit of Kindness.
Inspired by the story: Wild Butterflies by "Swirlstar the Dedraeb".

5444017 Yes, I know, the first one is there to tell the reader that she refuses, the 2nd is why she refuses. But i do see where the confusion could arise from, but i kinda want to keep it the way it is.

I see you decided on a gender for the Element of Kindness. I'm not sure how I feel about you not revealing the Element's Pony name. Because, obviously, 'he' would have had a name before he became an Element. Care to fix it?
On a cheerier note, both chapters are exceedingly well paced;the mood was very explicit and simultaneously vague; and I just love the idea of her not being to interact with ponies directly. You know, while Twilight studies, she's about to take some notes, when her quill moves of it own accord and writes out a message. Or maybe the message is waiting, and she arrived in time to see the quill being set down. Something like that.
Basically, it could've been the cruel joke of a very mean Unicorn, or Discord trying to see what happens.
