She had hidden behind her menu card for minutes which dressed up as hours, wondering how she ever could have thought that her crush would show up.

Even after the waiter had refilled her glass twice, the entrance to the restaurant had been conspicuously empty, and she had resigned herself to the fact that her special somepony wouldn’t show.

Her tears made their escape unnoticed as she debated simply going home.

Before she had the chance to follow up on her thought however a familiar shape at the door made her smile though her tears.

Rarity was always fashionably late.

On second reading, maybe it works better as an unknown non-ManeSix.
On third reading, it's probably deliberately ambiguous. It could be just about anyone with only minor stretching.
