17.Lethargy

Morning arrived, his arch nemesis for as long as he had been alive. He silently cursed the solar princess for keeping such a tight reign on her charge and hid his head underneath his pillow.

That’s when his second worst enemy arrived.

“Good morning Spike! Rise and shine!” she unceremoniously hefted him from his bed. “It’s a beautiful day out, don’t you think?”

He would never understand how the unicorn could be bright-eyed this early in the morning, despite going to bed far later than he did.

He groaned and buried his face in her mane “Five more minutes, Twilight.”
