On an average day in Ponyville, Fluttershy receives a visit from Prince Blueblood, who seeks a relationship with the kind mare. Fluttershy agrees, and likewise attempts to aid the young stallion with his problems involving romance. But, as time moves on, she realizes that change may not have been his intention after all. And his true nature is revealed. Will Flutterhy's friends be able to change things in time, or will Fluttershy forever be entrapped by the way he lies?

Perhaps part of it is because I may be the first author to ever dip into a Fluttershy-Blueblood pairing, as part of the Eros Dreaming crack-ship project (which was entirely my attempt to make up never before seen ships, back then), but also because this is just very saccharine! Fluttershy is, for me personally, the most difficult of the mane six to write for, partly because I have a hard time putting myself in the shoes or skin of the character. It is always interesting then to read the occasional Flutterfic and how she can contrast and compliment other characters. Given the title and all of this fic, I expect there's something less than altruistic going on under the surface, but I would also find it a delightful subversion if - say - what began as some sort of scheme to seduce Fluttershy ended up in the reverse, with her kindness and trust winning the day without her even really knowing there was trouble underfoot. Cue the plan going off anyway, somehow, romantic misunderstanding, and the standard post-misunderstanding make-up and catharsis. Or is that just too predictable and formulaic?
Anyway, it is nice to see Flutters being an interesting and sympathetic character, who can interact with others as well, without her being pitiable

The story actually will follow Blueblood dating Fluttershy, the most kind-hearted mare in Equestria, in an attempt to change himself (his past will be outlined later), but slowly easing back into his old abusive, controlling ways. This is more about her friends trying to get her out of it. There's no redemption or changes-of-heart for the prince (not because I don't like him; just because I said so

Oh? That's actually quite interesting in that... I really can't really ever reading a story where, at the end, the romantic plot or subplot ends in a "I guess we weren't compatible after all" breakup. Which is strange, since most actual relationships do in fact end in simple realization of incompatibility and, usually, two mature adults going back to the dating pool, hopefully richer for the experience. If you do end up going this route, it could well be one of the more realistic ways of handling a story with this sort of premise. Though... I also suppose the reason it is uncommon is that it may lack the emotional impact (that catharsis I mentioned before) we've come to expect from the end of a story... which could, I guess, be counteracted by hinting that both partners will find who is right for them the next time around.

1: I've mainly been focusing on another story I'm currently writing (A Bruised Apple) as it is my best story.
2: I've been attempting to reach into other aspects of this fandom. I've been learning Flash, Fireworks, Inkscape, etc.

Most subtle changes in behavior would most likely pass unnoticed by her as she is unsure of how those in a relationship act. In her mind, this sort of change would seem rather abrupt.
