Fluttershy and Rarity were expecting a nice get-together at Ponyville's local spa. It was a chance to get away from their busy lives to just be in the company of two good friends. What they didn't expect to find is some others having a similar idea. What in all of Equestria are they doing in the spa together?

Ocellus is absolutely smitten with a certain orange dragoness. She's determined to turn herself into Smolder's perfect match. To do that, she needs to do some experiments.

In the process, she'll become very familiar with the School of Friendship's garbage cans.

After her friends come to her aid during a time of need, Ocellus undergoes a dramatic transformation. This results in a flurry of new emotions and worries that cause the Student Six to fear that their friendship is in jeopardy.

Every 500 years, the dragons pick one of their own to take a journey to the First Flame, the origin of the dragon's fire breathing ability, and rekindle the sacred fires. When the time comes again, Dragon Lord Ember has decided that, for political reasons, Smolder should be the one to go. And in order to help her, she's allowed to pick one companion to go with her. So, she decides to pick the absolute best professor to go with her, one that has taken on several large creatures and escaped without a scratch.

Spike and the rest of the Student Six visit Mt. Aris, where Silverstream can't wait to show off her culture. Her brother, Terramar, offers to take them out for a swim, but he hasn't had much experience transforming dragons. Hijinks ensue.

Smolder has a thing for Ocellus. She has had it for a long time, but each time she is given the opportunity to profess her feelings, she chickens out and swears next time will be the one. Hopefully this one will be the one.

After all, it has been years since they last spoke, and they are not getting any younger.

What’s a few marks left by a friend?

Well, it all depends on what kind of marks, as far as Gallus is concerned.

Unfortunately, Smolder thinks this is hilarious.

So pucker up, bird-boy.

Thorax has had months. Months, of working tirelessly as the Ruler of the Changeling Hive and he is absolutely exhausted. He can barely stay awake when he comes to visit Ocellus at the School of Friendship to see how she's doing.

Ocellus, being the smart cookie that she is, comes up with a plan: She can pretend to be him, and he can go relax for a day.

Desperate, he accepts, but on the condition that he goes to class disguised as her and takes notes so she doesn't fall behind. After that, he can sneak off and finally get to sleep.

But then Smolder and Ember get involved.

Sandbar and friends discuss things that are legal and illegal when Sandbar mentions using recreational drugs. Gallus and Smolder decided they wanted to try some for themselves, but they couldn't find any after raiding Sandbar's room. So they settle for the next best thing; Brownies!

Ocellus has checked herself in to a mental hospital and, to the confusion of the entire staff, she seems perfectly fine. They invite the rest of the Student Six over to see if they can help figure out exactly what is going on with their changeling friend.
