When you're a filly, there isn't much point to seeing Homecoming as a holiday. Apple Bloom knows exactly how it works: you have to clean everything, make a big meal, there's a lot of adults talking around the dinner table -- so it's basically like every other day, except with extra chores and special plates. Homecoming is when you're supposed to be with your closest family, and she lives with them. She doesn't wait for Homecoming so much as she waits to get through it, or just... waits.

On Homecoming, you seek out your closest family.
Babs is spending Homecoming on the Acres.

John Apple, aging human farmer, has recently been injured in an accident by one of his horses. The doctors say he'll be unable to take care of his farm anymore due to considerable chronic back pain he will suffer for the rest of his years.

Farming had been his passion all his life, and had always been used to distract from the loneliness he felt from never having taken a wife, or raising children. Now faced with the prospect of losing his farm, having no options for meaningful employment, and the loneliness he can no longer distract himself from, he decides to bring an end to it all.

But what's this? He's still alive? Why did he wake up as a horse? How are these other horses able to talk? Why do these Apple horses keep calling him their father? And, perhaps most importantly, after finding himself with the family he had always wanted, does he dare tell them the truth?

When Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle believe Apple Bloom is having addiction problems, they try to help her out. They achieve this by locking her in her wardrobe closet.

It's Cider Season, and that means ponies wide and far come 'round to enjoy the Apple family's famously flavorful cider! But when something goes wrong with the recipe, it doesn't take long for things to go awry...

Apple Bloom asks an honest question.

Applejack always worked the farm to help ease the pain of losing her parents, but when Apple Bloom gets curious about them, the now injured Applejack has to reopen old wounds and come to face them once again.

Being a very young filly, Api Apple is often told by grown ups that she can't do something. That she can't go somewhere. That they are too busy to help her.

Luckily for her, Api always has an ace up her non-existant sleeve.
