Celestia is lost. She needs to get home.

This story was written for the 2023 FimFic Science Fiction Contest. It placed somewhere.

Applejack wakes up to tackle the farm's responsibilities before sunrise. Yesterday she'd asked her friends if they could help repaint the barn with her today but all were busy except Twilight. Twilight was delighted to spend more time with Applejack. Shortly after the sun rises Twilight appears over the hill with saddlebags full of water, snacks, large paintbrushes and a couple of rags. They do their usual greeting and finally get to work. Applejack atop a ladder asks Twilight to hand her another can of paint. On the way up, carrying such a heavy can caused Twilight to slip and instead of tossing the can over to AJ like intended, she caused them to both topple over. Applejack grabbed Twilight's hoof as she fell in hopes that she'd pull her up but she only dragged Twi down with her. The fall was much longer than either of them expected and they screamed in horror before finally hitting the ground. When Twilight opened her eyes all she could see was bright fluorescent lights and yellow walls. The smell of moist carpet and the sound of humming lights.
What in Equestria is going on here?

Description: A brown leather journal signed by one "Dream Snatcher''. The contents of the journal describe a ■■■■■■■■ attempt in second person. The exact details vary from subject to subject, but the core structure of a story remains.

Upon making contact with the subject's skin, the object causes visual, auditory and tactile hallucinations of an exceedingly violent matter. Most subjects lose consciousness in the process, although several other side effects have been observed, such as:

-siesures

-brain hemorrhaging

-paralysis

-mania

-[REDACTED]

Several subjects have shown no symptoms when presented with the object, mainly those with experience in field operations/crisis management within the Foundation.

The item appeared in the living quarters of Princess Luna, and was investigated by the subject.

"To anyone interested in the item's contents, I'm adding them to this page. Permission was given by Princess Luna, but here's a warning: you won't be able to look at her the same way again." -Dr. Turner.

"All members of MTF-ZETA 10 'Shadowbolts' are mandated to read the document as part of their training." - Director Miller.

Pinkie knows that being a baker means taking a lot of responsibility for your product. The bread has to rise with Celestia. Nopony needs to go through Round Two on the Baked Bads. And if at all possible, you should absolutely avoid serving the kind of 'donuts' which summon an eldritch horror from beyond space and time to destroy the world.

The Cakes keep slipping up on that last part. Not deliberately, at least in that they don't know they're doing it -- but somepony still has to clean up the tentacled mess, and do it by the time Sun is raised. Which is going to be Pinkie. Again.

Break out the caffeine. It's going to be a long night.

King Sombra has been living with Rushing Wind for quite a while now. He's used to always finding her right behind him, but when one day Sombra wakes up to find Rushing not there... what will happen? Where is she?

This is a little like Sleepy Hollows... And the suicide/self harm tag is just to be on the safe side.

Lavender Staar spends her days trying to find a good job but hasn't had much luck yet. Fortunately, she gets called to Canterlot Castle for a job interview by Princess Celestia along with others to work as a janitor. It's not much, but it would help Lavender feed herself. The castle and the land surrounding it feel...off, however.

In "Sister's of the Storm" there are barely any characters from the show. In "The curse of the Batpony" main show's characters are introduced and play a role alongside the main original characters. In the last trilogy, most of the show's main character have a main role in the conclusion of the saga.
