One day when it is raining heavily outside, Twilight decides to raid Spike's comic book collection and play a while as the Power Pony, the Masked Matterhorn.

She finds herself in the story of how one of the most dangerous villains in their Rogues Gallery came to be. Spurred on by Matterhorn and molded by the Mane-iac, this new villain is unlike anypony Twilight knows how they came to be opposing her.

Superheroes have great power, but at the end of the day, they’re still ponies, not gods. For the Power Ponies, this is no exception, as they soon discover in a particularly perilous battle with the supervillainess, Mane-iac. However, in a world of super-powered criminals and crime fighters, not everything is ever just as it seems. When one of their own vanishes after the battle, the Power Ponies are eventually drawn into a nefarious and deadly scenario as they race to uncover the truth before a potentially cataclysmic storm can be unleashed.

After stealing the Power Ponies Comic Book, the Pony of Shadows uses dark magic to bring the Mane-iac out of the Power Ponie's world and into Equestria. Unable to follow, the Power Ponies decide to send Power Modules along with a copy of their Artificial Intelligence P.E.G.A.S.U.S. out into Equestria so that a new group of Power Ponies can use their powers to stop the Mane-iac.

Hum-Drum and The Power Ponies are shocked to be contacted by their arch enemy: The Mane-Iac. And she isn't looking for a fight, not this time. No, The Mane-Iac claims she's really sick, to the point where she's dying.

However, The Mane-Iac has one last trick up her sleeves. She's got a special spray ready to be released on an unsuspecting Maretropolis upon her death. And the only way she can be cured is with a special beauty product that's being delivered to Maretropolis' dock yards.

But The Mane-Iac is unusually specific in wanting Hum-Drum to go alone to retrieve what she needs, threatening to prematurely unleash her spray if The Power Ponies interfere. Hum-Drum reluctantly accepts, not anticipating what the real reason for him being chosen is.

Dazed and confused after a tense conflict with a family member, a human finds himself whisked away to the brony Nirvana of Equestria! (Er, sort of?)

A faithful accident has transformed what was once a simple, power hungry mare, into a so called maniac. But not just any maniac. No, this Mane-iac has her sights set on the one superhero, who's always believed that there is good inside her. And that superhero is none other than Hum Drum of The Power Ponies.

But when Hum Drum sees what has become of the mare he once knew, he is anything but pleased.

Unfortunately, Hum Drum is about to learn the hard way that there truly is nothing worse than the wrath of a heartbroken mare. Especially one with superpowers of her own.

Against her will, Doctor Caramel Crisp recruits a rehabilitated mad scientist for their next scientific and technological commission. The mare is crazy, there's no denying that, but she's also said to be an unparalleled genius.

Well, Caramel's heard that one before.

Humdrum is trapped in an asylum with not just his but all of the Power Ponies's villains and to add to his problems the Mane-iac has over the asylum's computer systems how is going to make it read and find. Story based on Batman: Arkham Asylum game. The story is part of Phantom Fan 21's Power Ponies Universe.
