A pony has his dull and hum-drum life shaken up when he gets a new mailmare. And this new mailmare has a number of features that makes them unable to forget them.

Written in two hours for the Iron Author Challenge during Everfree Northwest 2017.

Sunset Shimmer couldn't sleep, which was a bit of a common problem as of late.

She usually deals with her insomnia by taking walks through the City of Canterlot. Tonight however she has decided to take a different rout then her usual.

This decision will take her through a leisurely midnight stroll in The Twilight Zone.

(Ok so she's not going throw The Twilight Zone but I don't know how to write these descriptions and It just came to me.)

An unfamiliar, one of a kind, beast is discovered in Equestria. Since Twilight, Celestia, Luna, and Cadence have neither the time nor motivation to properly study this human, they collectively decide the best course of action is to domesticate it and pawn him off on Starlight. Never having a pet before in her life, Starlight bravely takes on the responsibility as a friendship lesson.

Starlight Glimmer, heartbroken after her breakup with Sunburst, casts a spell without thinking or even caring about the consequences. After casting the spell, she falls through the portal she conjured, landing in another world... our world.

In this world, there is a young man named Nathan who had just gone through a breakup of his own. He, like her, knew what it was like to feel immense pain, to have no faith in the future, and to have given up on life. She, like him, lost someone very dear to her and has nothing left in this cold dark world but one thing: a dwindling light called hope.

With hope fading fast from these two hearts, can either one of them ever find love again? It may be even closer than they realize.

Months before the Last Day, the inhabitants of Stables 29 and 101 were sealed inside their Stables as part of a "trial run." Vinyl Scratch and Octavia Philarmonica were two such souls, bound by love but separated by fate. Even across the distance dividing them, though, they sent messages to each other.

Until, one fateful day several months after the immense door of Stable 29 closed, everything went wrong.

Scootaloo has been without a place to call home for a long time, and up until now, she's been relatively fine. But the winter is only getting colder, and her Crusader's cape isn't doing much to keep her warm at night in the unheated clubhouse, and she just hopes for a better life maybe, with a certain filly with a pastel pink and violet mane, but right now she just wants a home..

Except, this isn't a storybook.

This is something else. The characters are accurate, but the setting has changed. The story has changed. Is there truly a hero and villain, or perhaps are the roles switched? History was written by the winners, after all.
It is the survivors who tell the true story.

(Finally, I have started working on a project I've had in my head since I was 14. Yes, six years later, and here I am writing it as it was meant to be. This story has been rewritten a dozen times, but I am finally satisfied with the direction it is headed. Thank you for giving it a chance ahead of time, it means the world to me. I'm not looking to write a masterpiece, but I am looking to write a story. I hope you enjoy.)
