New headcanon: Cloudsdale has neither street maps nor road signs, because construction-grade cloud and even cloudstone are still, fundamentally, cloud. And even when stabilized, it's really easy to move around, and also tends to be affected by wind. The Cloudsdalers are, of course, perfectly used to this and don't mind because they all know the city. Visitors, on the other hand, aren't so lucky, and invariably find themselves asking for directions a lot... from pegasi who seem to think that it
Thanks to the generous SPANIARD KIWI, the text of Cadance of Cloudsdale so far is now in Spanish! Mr. Kiwi has done a tremendous amount of work translating many of my stories into Spanish, but this goes above and beyond. If you're curious, you may visit the project so far here at this DeviantArt link.
...the Device will reawaken, hungry again...
It's true! There really was a deleted chapter! Or, that is to say, a pretty different version of "Deep Blue, Part 2." After writing it and having my editor take a look at it, I decided it needed some heavy rewrites. Since a lot of it is the same, I won't post it all here; it would be tedious to look through and compare. Instead, I'll post some differences followed by a large scene that was cut entirely.
Changes:
Cloudsdale is one of the main component states of Homestria, guarding much of its western border. Stretching approximately 130 kilometers north-south from the northern Cloudsdale Range to the White-tail Woods and approximately 210 kilometers east-west from the Spear Gate to Storm's Deep, this state is a study in contrasts, between north and south, east and west, mountain and valley, clear and storm, Hurricane and Pansy, war and peace.
I. Territory & Population
First, before I say anything about magical cartoon talking horses, I think it would be remiss of me not to acknowledge all those affected by Hurricane and/or Tropical Storm Harvey. Stay safe; our thoughts are with you.
Extrapolations of the early Greek feel of aspects of pegasi culture aside, this is another thing I promise faithfully not to write...
...however convenient it might be to kick cloudwalking-spell-using emissaries off the edge of your sky city, if you're Commander Hurricane.
Warning: Spoilers from the latest episode Games Ponies Play abound. Proceed with caution.
The distinctive visible swirls on the clouds of Equestria aren't just an artifact of cartoon resolution: they're a product of cloud manufacturing, imprinted on pegasus-industrially-made clouds by the mighty cyclone turbines of the Cloudsdale Weather Corporation.
New story out now. Check it out here:
I started writing this two months ago, when, as residents of some parts of the Northern Hemisphere may recall, it was rather chilly. This saw a return of headlines about the Polar Vortex and a resulting spectrum of science stories, and a twitterstorm of science communicators trying to both correct misconceptions and cash in on the interest in a science topic.
So just who IS the top Wonderbolt recruit? Well that's a bit trickier to answer then you'd think.
After chatting with Tchernobog, he seemed to think you all deserved a little more Alchemy in your lives. Ebon Quill and Little Tinker agreed. Ebon also pointed out that Alchemy was supposed to launch last week, so there's that too. With such weight pressing down upon me, I simply couldn't say no (Well, I could have, but then I'd be a jerk).
Ok, So this is my 50th review blog, and I have now reviewed 141 stories, from 90 different authors.
Now, I would have liked to release another chapter of Short Stories, but I noticed this milestone to late to do so... therefore, I will just be giving you the prompt for one of the next few I do: Zephyr Breeze gets left in the woods by Fluttershy in the events of "Flutter Brutter."
Grrrrrrrrrrrrreetings everypony, and welcome back to Deconstruction is Magic, my Retrospective/Review/Analysis of every episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is magic ever. After taking a short break for mental health reasons, I am back for more pony analysis! Today, we have an episode that I used to name as my all time favourite, Sonic Rainboom. Does it stand up to re-evaluation? Without wasting any more time, let's get on with the analysis! I am the Mage of Mind, reminding you,
