The Life and Times of Amber Spark!

    Hello, my long-lost friends!

So, you’re probably wondering what the flipping heck happened to me. After all, the last real post I did, aside from the money stuff and a Hearth’s Warming post, was apparently 82 weeks ago, in September of 2021.

Looking for Some Help With Top/Bottom Surgery!

Hey folks! I know it's been forever and I promise I'll provide an update on where everything is in the near future. But today, I'm gonna ONCE AGAIN ask for financial help. And this one is only for me. I'm not going to use my girls or anything to try and guilt you into helping. Moving on past that BS.

    Hearth's Warming Thoughts 2021

I know a lot of you have friends and family to be with this holiday. I also know a lot of you are struggling this holiday with (sometimes former) friends and family who refuse to accept you for who you are. I know I am. Some of you are alone in a room, some of you are alone in a crowd. And some of you have people who accept you.

A Wild Chapter Appears! · 6:02pm Nov 8th, 2016

After chatting with Tchernobog, he seemed to think you all deserved a little more Alchemy in your lives. Ebon Quill and Little Tinker agreed. Ebon also pointed out that Alchemy was supposed to launch last week, so there's that too. With such weight pressing down upon me, I simply couldn't say no (Well, I could have, but then I'd be a jerk).

So, you get a bonus chapter of The Alchemy of Chemistry this week! In fact, it's up right now!

However, this is a one-time special offer! After today, you'll be receiving a chapter a week. :scootangel:

In other news, I'm delighted to say that thanks to you all, The Alchemy of Chemistry hit the Featured Box a bit after 7PM last night! This means 4 out of 5 of my stories have landed in the Featured Box! :pinkiegasp:

Now, I do my best to reply to every comment I can for all my stories and blog posts (though occasionally there's something on there I just can't think of a response to). I haven't decided if I'm going to do that or not for Alchemy, because there's just so much going on and I don't want to spoil anything. However, be assured that I am reading every single one of the comments and will likely respond to them later (And much of me is simply cackling like mad). :moustache:

In other news... SQUEE! Mass Effect 2 and 3 are finally backwards compatible on the Xbox One for N7 Day yesterday and we got this sweet (though not very informative) trailer for Andromeda!

Okay, okay. Enough SQUEE. Go read the new chapter!

YaY!

I'll be holding my judgement on ME:A, though, finally i'm cautiously optimistic after last year's totally negative.

What finally sold you? I'm still holding the protest signs from ME3, but man, are my arms tired. Do you think ME:A is worth a look?

Well, sold is a bit too strong a word here, but there are some points in their favour:
1. The game is supposed to be self contained. No save transfers which they've clearly shown they aren't able to handle well between games.
2. Bioware thoughtfully chose not to change combat too much from ME 3: it's still a cover shooter, though some cover can be destroyed. Power combos are in, weapon and armor customization supposedly expanded or at least same level. No "classes" and all powers are available - something i really wanted for ME 3.
3. Studio seems to have stabilized after mass exodus after ME 3 and DA: I.
4. Fewer planets to explore - this is a good thing, because they don't waste time on creating empty planets with a single point of interest.
5. Fewer team mates - again, tighter development for existing ones (Kaidan and Ashley in ME 3 were stupidly bland, Thane was a better character than both of them).
6. Casey Hudson isn't involved.

Current concerns:
Bioware could be having problems with Frostbite engine, so i expect lots of bugs.
Animations for main characters don't look final (notice the too rapid descent when jetpack is used).
This one is EA -related - lack of English version for regions (my current choice is either Polish or Russian), which means i'll have to resort to manipulating files (DA: I was almost okay with this, ME 3 was terrible)

I wouldn't recommend to pre-order ME: A, but if reviews and player recommendations are decent and bugs aren't too bad than sure.
In general I liked most of Bioware games and i've started with Baldur's Gate 1. My only trouble was Dragon Age: never really got to play it to its fullest.

As someone who played through Mass Effect 2 for seven complete playthroughs, I'm willing to give them another chance. And I still remain by my belief that ME3 was actually fantastic until you reached Earth. (And Citadel was the REAL ending).

In truth, I've pre-ordered every Mass Effect Collector's Edition. I even drove up a few hours to West Hollywood to attend (the absolutely horribly planned and executed) official BioWare midnight release of Mass Effect 3. At this point... despite the ending of ME3... I'll still do it.

Wait, what do you mean with Citadel as the ending? Citadel when attacked by Cerberus?
Or just Shepard and Anderson gazing down on Earth?

This one. Seriously, one of the best DLCs they ever did. This is the true ending of Mass Effect 3. This is the ending we deserved.

Oh, yeah!
You are absolutely right., of course.
I really forgot about it:, if you can believe it.:twilightoops:
