Alrighty, then. Gonna bust this one out real quick. Video games are calling me. Here are my thoughts on this week's episode, Amending Fences.

For the first time in eight years, I've been off narcotics for going-on nine days straight. 
(Note: these were prescription narcotics I'm able to drop now following surgical intervention.)

This was written six days after the shooting
Hey guys, Kablam here again with my update of how I feel about the shooting that happened almost a week ago. It’s a little strange going back to that moment in life. It feels like it almost didn’t happen. Some of my auto-buddies have made comments about the surreality of the whole situation.
Well as I posted in one of the recent chapters of The Blue Mage, I've recovered enough use in my left hand to type normally. Though with how much the muscles atrophied, I'm still a little clumsy when typing and my hand tires easily. Even so, I've been doing a lot of typing lately on both old projects and new... too many really.
IN WHICH INSPIRATION HAPPENS
Maybe I should coffee more often, as caffeine seems to jump-start what amounts to my writing ability. But I'll talk about that below the jump. I left my home today to place an order at the grocery store for a fresh turkey for Thanksgiving (so much better than frozen). So I feel somewhat accomplished. Yay. Anyway...
It's been 10 days since my brother died and 6 since we laid him to rest at the foot of a willow tree near a shady stream. I find myself both functional and numb. I can act, react, and do things, but anything beyond the basics is like trying to push fog with your hands. Something happens but not much. I find myself staring at a computer screen and feeling... nothing.

It seems as though readers, writers and critics believe that there are only two kinds of reviews: harsh, cruel and unforgiving kinds that deter and discourage growth, and overly nice, "pat-on-the-head" kinds that ignore the author's mistakes. We wish to meet in the middle, and provide honest reviews that point out flaws, provide advice on how to fix them, highlight the positives, and encourage growth,
Anyone else watch Youjo Senki? Think SombraVerse, from To Where and Back Again, for those that did... Not sure I should be taking up an additional project, so I'll just put it on the backburner, for now, all things considered.

This seems almost pointless to do, considering how much time passed since I've written something the last time..... But it also serves as an announcement when I'll get back to writing, so here it goes!
Beginning with tomorrow, I'll go on a one week long break from writing, to recover from moving and all the other stuff that made me exhausted last year, now that all my stuff is finally where it belongs again.
Shepherd and Twilight are cleaning up the library, which is blackened and crispy. Shepherd is less than amused.
Shepherd: "So... She set fire to the palace. Again."
Twilight: "YES! Yes, she set fire to the palace. Again. I'm trying to teach her that magic isn't the solution to every problem in life!"
Shepherd: "What was the problem that involved setting fire to everything?"

Note To Self: A pot of coffee will make the part of the brain that makes writing happen function, apparently. Also, living on a heavily forested hill gets annoying when all your trees are deciduous, leaves are fallen and wet, and your driveway slants at a steep angle -- this is the second time in as many weeks I've had to rake my driveway. So...
Time to hit those keys and stopping moaping around. It does no one good. (unless your fluttershy then everyone hugs her, I know you do it for the hugs fluttershy!)
