IN WHICH I BESTOW A NAME
Does that subtitle makes sense to you? No? Well, have some decade-old Perfume.
LOL, I punned you. Anyway, onto the meat of the post...
I want to keep this blog post legit short -- give y'all a status update to prove I'm not doing absolutely nothing while sitting on my butt -- just mostly nothing.
Work continues slowly but surely on my next Burritoverse story. I haven't gotten to the traditional monologue yet, but I'm close to it. Regrettably, I'm busy tomorrow and as early as Wednesday night I might be able to start tweaking the rest of Recovery. Once that happens, I'll post it and FINALLY be through with SRA (save for two non-canon side stories I can publish whenever).
So what's with the subtitle, you may ask? Well, I was feeling really down this evening after supper, missing my ex (as usual) and couldn't bring myself to write but tried to force it anyway. Then I realized that after more than three years, I had never given Big Beulah's husband the dignity of a name. Well, now he has one, and suddenly he's a lot more interesting to me and a whole bunch of other plot elements for this particular story fell into place. He might be the only genuinely nice guy besides Flash and Bean-Counter in the entire SoufriEQG multiple continuity snarl.
What is Mr Beulah's name? Well, you'll just have to read the story to find out.
PS - I think I'm going to declare A Midsummer Day's Quest canon to SRA and shunt it in after Recovery. I don't think there's anything in that story that explicitly contradicts anything I've written so far and it is a VERY important piece of continuity for the world I've created. That will make SRA fifteen stories long -- mostly but not entirely one-shots.
Of late I've regretted not doing the Burritoverse as a single story and marking it an Anthology. In my defense, that tag didn't exist when I started, and the series is ad hoc as fuck anyway. Oh! And the reason I'm attaching this blog to Maud's Burrito story instead of Sci-Twi's? Maud's is the most recent in the timeline and it has more readers. Well, back to work.
Peace out!
Glad to see some lore building, and also to see Midsummer Day's Quest become canon. I loved that story. :)

So do I. That's why it ended up being 9,500 words long.
