Side-stories and mini-arcs not able to fit into the main narrative: Side Stories of First Contact

Everyone knows of the reign of discord more than 1000 years ago over Equestria. What no one knows about are the immediate and far-reaching consequences of that fateful time. How the alicorn sister's anger over the actions of Discord caused them to lash out at his birthplace. How the resulting war between dragon and pony kind had cost both sides so much and so little at the same time. This is the story that was lost to the ravages of history and that the princesses and dragon forever refuse to retell. The story of the true origins of the draconequus, Discord. The story of how Celestia came in possession of Spike's egg. The story of Spike's biological family. And the story of the destructive entity known simply as Void that tied all of their destinies together.

As well as this being its own stand-alone story, it will also be the prologue of another story that I will be writing parallel to this one that will involve the same characters in present day Equestria.

Everyone has heard of the armored guards that Luna handpicks herself, their armor designed, and their wings enchanted, to resemble that of a bat. This story follows the misadventures of the only unicorn to be enrolled in this service, 'Bad-Luck' Blitz Comet, a rather unlucky sonova- Er.... Pony.

(Writer's Note: A close second for the title was 'The Misadventures of the Nightguardspony', and I'm trying something different here. Comedy! Or an attempt at it. Really, it probably won't be that funny. Humorous maybe.... Hopefully. This is going to end up as a literary train wreck, isn't it?)

A year after the infamous Nightmare Moon was defeated brings about more worries toward Princess Celestia, who frets over her sister's re-developing hostility toward her and her loyal subjects. When she's rebuilt back into the horror known as Nightmare Moon, who is the only pony left that's even slightly capable of stopping the dreadful villain? The Mane 6 is slowly dropping, leaving only the brainy Twilight Sparkle to try and end the chaos and darkness consuming Equestria, forced to fight against her five beloved best friends after each and every one of them are corrupted by Nightmare Moon's wicked promises and fox-like charisma.
