When the forces of nature come crashing down on a cold night, Scootaloo takes refuge in the only place she can call home: The Cutie Mark Crusaders Clubhouse.

Frightened and alone, only the arrival of a young mare with a mane and tail of rainbows can settle the filly. Scootaloo will soon discover that sometimes the pony who means the most to you as an aspiration, can also be the pony whom you take refuge with at the end of the day.

Scootaloo has been bouncing from home to home for years until moving to Canterlot City with her new adopted mother. After making friends with two of the greatest girls in the world, she finally feels a sense of security in her life, and being in the same place long enough has allowed her to look up to and idolize a certain star soccer player. Now, with hope and newfound courage, Scootaloo makes the decision to chase her dreams of becoming someone and growing close to her longtime idol, but a crushing blow to her shattered heart puts an end to her emboldened aspirations.

It's up to her two best buddies in the whole world to help her realize her truth self worth and the power of love.

As Scootaloo's honorary big sister, Rainbow Dash has taken on a lot of responsibilities over the years. But nothing can quite prepare her for this situation.

When Scootaloo's friends mention that she's sad and alone in the clubhouse, Rainbow goes to investigate. And when she learns what went wrong, she finds herself thrust into the middle of a delicate situation.

Can Rainbow help her honorary little sister to feel better, and help her to patch things up with Aunt Holiday and Auntie Lofty? Or is the rainbow maned mare out of her depth?

Rainbow Dash has given Scootaloo the idea to skip school. However, Scootaloo is about to find out this is the worst mistake of her life when her mother takes away the one thing she cares for more than anything else.

Scootaloo and her mother are going to be hanging out with one another.

Scootaloo is presented with the opportunity to have a sleepover when her mom and dad must be called into work one weekend. The pony her mom has in mind is Windy Whistles, Rainbow Dash's mother.

Scootaloo agrees and Windy Whistles promises to do her best to take care of the young pegasus. But even so, her parenting style isn't what Scootaloo's used to and the filly hasn't slept over at Windy's place before.

Despite this, the two will both try to make it a sleepover to remember. And who knows? By the time it's over, they might draw even closer than they already are.

For Scootaloo, the two most awesome ponies in her life have always been her mom, Dizzy Twister, and her unoffical big sister, Rainbow Dash.

One day, while helping her mom move some boxes, Scootaloo discovers an old Cloudsdale High yearbook, and learns a shocking fact! Her mom, and Rainbow Dash attended the same high school! But yet, it seems like they don't hang out anymore! That must mean they aren't friends!

After hearing how Princess Twilight managed to patch things up and restore the bonds with her old friends in Canterlot, Scootaloo becomes convinced that the same thing can work in this situation. She just needs to get Rainbow Dash and Dizzy Twister into a situation where they'll have to talk to each other. And she ropes her fellow Cutie Mark Crusaders into helping her out.

But does their friendship really need to be rekindled, or does Scootaloo just assume it does?

It's been one year on the dot exactly since Rainbow first adopted Scootaloo, and Scootaloo intends to show her gratefulness towards the pegasus in spades. So, she gets the best idea ever, a cake from Sugarcube Corner! Trouble is, getting it home. How hard can it be?
