This will be a short story, around the 2000-3000 word range (edit: I lied, this will hit the 10k word mark and possibly on up to 15k as I didn't expect to do this much writing for the amount of plot I had planned in my head).

Derpy has been deemed an unfit mother, due to her mental condition, and has a real chance of losing custody of her only foal. Before that day comes though Derpy remembers how Dinky came to be, how her only source of pride and joy is tied to such a painful memory, and all of the time spent raising Dinky.

I'm writing this story in honor of a friend of mine who went through a very similar situation.

Trixie Lulamoon doesn't talk much about her parents, does she? Let me tell you how she came along. (Written as part of a story-to-come-later, but stands up fine as a short one on it's own.)

How can guilty affect someone? Some don't feel any remorse for their actions, others only apologize when they do bad things and others apologize for things they had never done.
Spike's thinks about his life and how his actions had led to bad consequences.

Big Macintosh tells his friend about his problems and how he feels. He tells about his life and how he grew up the gentle, caring stallion he is, and how others don't see it.

Discord has been reformed after visiting with the mane six. Now Princess Celestia asks him to practice his powers for good on another world. One that has been more chaotic than Equestria, also known as Earth. There, Discord disguises himself as a regular high school student and meets a guy who will show him the ropes of how to be a good guy. Things will be great for Discord....won't it?

Tara Sparks is the new girl at Canton High School. And being a bookworm makes it hard for her to fit in with her fellow students. She eventually meets a small group of girls who, despite varying personalities and social backgrounds, bond together and face the various trials of high school together. It’s been two weeks, and Rainbow Dash couldn't be happier that she was dating Ponyville’s most dependable pony, Applejack. Applejack, while unsure of how it would turn out at first, finally starts feeling comfortable enough about their relationship and tells Dash that they can finally tell their friends about it.

As she’s planning how to best go about telling their friends, Ponyville is met with wonderful news: Applejack’s mother, Apple Butter, is going to be visiting Ponyville, making it the first time in ten years that either of Applejack’s parents have visited! With the entire town planning a welcome party, the two mares may find it hard to tell their friends about their relationship, and they’ll come to realize why Applejack’s mother might make it even harder.

While on a rescue mission, Twilight lands herself in a dead end from which none of her magic seems to help her out. All on her own, she has to face the prospect of perishing.
