Discord has been reformed after visiting with the mane six. Now Princess Celestia asks him to practice his powers for good on another world. One that has been more chaotic than Equestria, also known as Earth. There, Discord disguises himself as a regular high school student and meets a guy who will show him the ropes of how to be a good guy. Things will be great for Discord....won't it?

Huge thanks tao-mell for letting me use his work for the cover art.

Chapter 1: Discord's Assignment

It was a lovely day in Canterlot, where the skies were clear and the city in the mountain bustled with life. Many ponies commuted within its walls. Town ponies would shop at its stores, eat at its gourmet diners, and enjoy each other's company through a nice cup of coffee. The fancy ponies could show of their style with beautiful clothes stitched together by a famous unicorn. Even Fancy Pants would flash his fashion to promote what it is like on the pony body. This capital of Equestria, is also home to its beloved Princess Celestia, the worlds powerful goddess of the sun. Her castle skyrocketed into the clouds of Canterlot, enhancing the view over all of Equestria.

But this story doesn't take place in the halls of this home, it takes place within the skies above. Under a patch of clouds, Celestia flied home on her royal carriage, over the towering buildings and beautiful sights of friendly pony life. Her pegasus guards towed her platform in the cooling wind, while she sat comfortably on it. Her multi-colored mane swayed with every stream of wind while cool refreshing air brushed passed her snout. She could smell the scent of fresh grass in the air, which was coming from the royal gardens down below her. The guards took action, and prepared to land. At the approach, royal bugles sound off as Celestia descends towards the gardens, where her young sister, Princess Luna, waits for her. Celestia smiles from a distance towards her royal sibling.

She was just returning from an important visit to Ponyville. Where she has experimented with a special task for her favorite subjects, The Elements of Harmony. As it turns out, the experiment was a success.

"Oh, thank heavens," complained a male voice beside Celestia interrupting her reminiscing. "I thought we'd never get here. Out of complete honesty princess, that was the most boring trip I could endure."

Discord, strangely enough, flew beside the chariot with the sun goddess. Complaining for hours on his way to Canterlot, about having to fly home instead of just teleporting to this great city.

"Patience is one feat in being good that you must cope with, Discord." Celestia held back her anger over the wining with a stern expression, "Don't forget I can imprison you like I did thousands of years ago."

They finally reached the ground with the chariot lightly thudding against the grass. Discord rubbed his chin with a talon under his smug expression.

"Hhmm. If I may recall Celsetia, I can just bust out of that feeble stone prison. Just shatter it like glass." Discord explains by tapping a little hammer on his head, shattering him into pieces like a fragile vase.

Celestia groans annoyed at the multi-limbed creature.

"Tia!" Luna shouted for her sister, "Tis, good to see thou again." Celestia walks out of the carriage to nuzzle her sister with a warming hug, making Discord just point a finger to his mouth pretending to gag. They pulled away from their embrace. "Has thou succeeded in reforming Discord, sister?"

"Yes." Celestia turned to Discord, "He has discovered the magic of friendship, just as I predicted." She was hoping another sarcastic remark, but all she saw was the creature blushing to himself.

"Well... don't think this can just 'change' me to a some goody-twoshoes." Discord pouted.

"Thou is not wearing any shoes." Luna tilted her head.

At that said, Discord suddenly snapped his finger and summoned a pair of clown shoes on his feet.

"I am now." He sneered.

"So thou admit you are good?" Luna smirks, along with Celestia giggling.

"What? No… maybe." Discord's blush intensified brighter upon his cheeks. Earned a hearty laugh from the royal ponies. The master of chaos surrendered his embarrassment by sighing with a glare in his eyes.

When the laughing dimmed, Celestia motions her head to the entrance of the castle.

"Come, Discord." Celestia offered. "If you are going to use your powers for good, we must get started." He did so by floating like a serpent along side Celestia, and Luna on the other side of her.

The entrance guards nodded at the princesses as they passed, but stared harshly at the drifting creature. Discord unwittingly sticks his snake like tongue out to the guards, who just kept staring at nothing with a stern and serious expression.

They walked inside the hallway leading to the throne at the end with stained glass windows alining the hallway, depicting the Elements of Harmony in various adventures. The defeat of Nightmare Moon, the defeat of King Sombra, and even... the defeat of Discord himself. Without the princesses looking, Discord looked down in guilt as he continued hovering.

After his discovery of friendship, he just felt immense guilt for messing with those ponies for his own nefarious purposes. Especially Fluttershy, who has taught him many aspects of being a friend. He knew that deep down, he wished he could turn back time and do something right of it. But at the same time, his chaotic personality got in the way of that. He is good, but not that good.

The party stopped in front of the throne and Celestia turned to Discord.

"Discord," Celestia began, "If you're going to use your powers for good, you must be trained to use them properly." She said. But Discord didn't seem to get the meaning of her words as he raised a goat's brow. Celestia turned to Luna. "Sister, if you please."

Her loving sister nodded solemnly. She then stepped up to Discord and started projecting magic from her horn. Then in a flash, a holographic image of a spherical object was casted in front of the spirit's eyes. He wasn't sure what this thing was, until he noticed patches of green surrounding large portions of blue. He immediately recognized it as the planet Earth.

"You will start, by traveling to another world, full of more chaos than any other planet," Celestia said. "Its history is distraught and its hatred grows worse everyday." Her tone was pensive.

Discord misunderstood when he rubbed his hands together.

"Oh, isn't this a treat?" The serpent creature giggled in excitement, "You train be to be good and now you completely let me off the hook."

"It is not to cause more chaos." Celestia replied with narrowed eyes, "You are to practice your powers in this world." This was her most excellent idea she could think of. Discord could try his abilities for good with a more deranged universe that has had many problems in the last several millennia.

Discord was stunned by this.

"You want me to revert this world's chaos?" He folded his arms while turning his head away in disagreement. "I will do no such thing."

Celestia knew he would say that. And for that, began plan B for this experiment.

"Discord." she asked earnestly, "It shall not be that difficult to make something of this world."

The serpent spirit peeks over his shoulder. Still unamused with what might follow.

"You will start with one simple location to practice your abilities. I have pinpointed a land that is undertaking survival through poverty, criminal injustice, and disharmony. You will begin your training here until you understand the importance of good."

Discord groaned. "Fine." he huffed. "I'll do it. But what do I get in return?" He produced a sly grin.

It had never dawned Celestia at that time. Discord was always infamous for his negotiating. Though she fears his fair play will not always be fair. At that, she started to think for a second until an idea hit her.

"Okay, Discord." Celestia spoke with her own grin. "If you won't cooperate with this task, then you will not see Fluttershy again."

His cold and twisted heart actually skipped a beat.

"You wouldn't." Discord responded in shock.

"Oh, I will." Celestia approached the spirit. "If you at least try and use your powers for good in this universe, then I will grant you your freedom. You will see Fluttershy again."

Out of every counter-negotiation Discord has experienced, he'd never expect anything like this. Fluttershy was the only pony out the Elements that ever saw him as a friend. Despite his roguish deeds to emit chaos upon everypony, only one saw through to him. He'd do anything to have this wonderful feeling again. Even if it means submitting to a risky quest.

Discord gave a long sigh.

"Well played, princess." he replied with furrowed eyes. Celestia, as well as her sister, couldn't help but smile at Discord.

"Perfect." Celestia chimed. Luna then shut off her magic, removing the projected earth from sight. "Your tasked location can start in it's local school. Hopefully you will learn about this world as you find a way to turn it around into something wonderful."

He looked at her surprised with wide eyes.

"A school? You want to put the all mighty powerful spirit of chaos in school?" He then broke out into a full blown laugh. "Oh, that is just precious." He cackled even harder by holding his gut while floating belly up in the air.

The goddesses were unamused by his reaction.

"Oh wait, let me guess." Discord ceased his cackling, "Are you going to place me in some little bitty elementary school with some kindergartners?" He then shape shifted into a little girl's outfit and began prancing around the room. "Oh look at me, I'm a simple school filly learning the ways of harmony and friendship." He mocked with a high-pitched voice.

"Ahem." He froze in place when Celestia cleared her throat to catch his attention. "If you are done Discord, may we get started?" Celestia deadpanned.

Although Discord's fun was wrecked by the very princess that imprisoned him, he stopped and reverted back to his freakish self.

"Ahem, of course princess." he humbly replied.

"Good. Now you are to travel to this planet and begin your training. Should you need any assistance, ask one of the fellow residents." She smiles. However, she was still skeptical of Discord, hoping he might refuse or pummel her esteem with more sarcasm.

Discord rolled his eyes.

"Fine." he sighs, "When do I leave?"

"Right now actually."

"Now!?" Discord exclaimed. "Surely I must prepare for such a journey." He disappeared and reappeared wearing a Hawaiian shirt, sunglasses, and fishermen's hat, and a suitcase of assorted items. "I will have to pack my lotion, my clothes, and my favorite little rubber ducky." He presents a squeaky toy duck.

For some reason, Luna actually giggled to herself with her hoof covering her mouth. Her sister must've heard because she turned to her with a serious look, making Luna stop on the dot. She turned back to Discord.

"No need for packing," she smiles, "you can summon anything you want after all."

"Oh alright." Discord mumbles as he gets rid of his stuff with a snap of his finger. Then summons a target behind him for Celestia to teleport him to this world. "Fire away." he said while wearing a blindfold and smoking a cigarette in his mouth.

She got the message already and her horn started glowing.

"Enjoy your trip, Discord." That was her last words before she blasted a beam of magic into the creature's sternum.

The energy slowly spread out towards his extremities then up his head, covering his beady red eyes. The magic entirely covered Discord making a silhouette of light and in a bright flash, Discord vanished in the light right before the princesses' eyes. When the light subsided, his constant whining has disappeared into the room and the serpent creature with different appendages, was no where to be found. The only sign of him still there, was the sparkling residue floating in the same spot he once stood.

The princess glanced at the spot and smiled for Discord's attempt to change officially. But Luna was rather nervous for the creature. Even though she has never quite met Discord, she did grow concerned for her sister's experiment.

"Will he really commit to this task, Tia?" Luna asked with concern.

Celestia just stood there trying to devise the best answer to her question. But she sighed and spoke with rueing doubt.

"I hope so sister," she sighed. "I hope so."

Chapter 2: Who's the White Hair?

It was spring of 2013, in a little town within the mountains of Colorado; called Chesterville. Although this town is not considered to be part of the American map, it was still a town. It was nothing but a rural place with small businesses to give its folks the essentials. Minor traffic swept around the streets with only an average of 12 or 15 cars every day. And the stores houses many homemade supplies to help this town prosper at its best. Not much luxury was lurking in this village, but it was good enough to be considered home to the locals.

At the edge of this town, was a high school. Chesterville High to be precise. Four years of students passed through its education every year, leaving with decent educations for their future. But from most of the students' perspective, it's a prison. Work was grueling and students were a psychotic mess, with little authority to boot.

But one student has had it rough for three years since he registered into this school. Now as a senior, he loomed through the halls with dark brown flat hair, slightly tan skin, and a guitar towed in its case over his shoulder.

His name, was Danny Gilroy.

He has been part of the learning system since his family moved here from San Fransico, California. His dad lost his job as a car salesman and booked a job in Chesterville as a store manager. His brother who lives here, helped him out by retiring and letting his brother mange his store for him.

It's been three weeks since Danny has settled into this hellhole of a place. And so far, he's barely impressed. He was more used to the noisy streets of the harbors back home, and not to the cold mountain conditions of Colorado. He also missed his friends. He has had the most best friends since he was in kindergarden. But by moving away, he felt alone and doesn't seem to enjoy trying to make new friends. Most of the new faces he encountered were more along the lines of country folk than city folk. A distinction Danny doesn't want to be a part of.

But enough of this fellow's personal life, now is the time to see his story.

He walked down the hallway past various students, such as gossiping girls, jocks, and your regular feeble nerds. His guitar case swung against him at every step he took, as it was attached to a sling, lazily hung over his left shoulder.

It was close to his next period, so he was just waltzing to the gym to begin his class. He didn't like gym much, mainly because he doesn't play well with others. He would just sit on the bleachers and play his guitar.

While walking, he caught a displeasing voice call from up ahead.

"Well look who it is." the tall jock sneered, "The surfing turd away from home."

That was a common name to him since he first moved here. People referred to Danny as a surfer because of his background as a Californian. But not all of them are retarded surfers. At least not this guy. In Colorado, students look at him funny because of his tan skin, compared to the pale white folks that live in this hicktown.

"Shut up, Max." Danny talked back, "I'm not a surfer okay?"

"Yeah you are, mister dude. Mister Surfin Bird." Max continued to make fun of Danny. He also takes the liberty to mimic Peter Griffin and his stupid dance. "Well a Bird, Bird, Bird. The Bird is the word." The other boys beside him laugh hysterically at their friend's imitation.

"Whatever Max? Who gives a fuck?" Danny huffed.

The dumb douche did not take his words too kindly.

"What you say, you little spit fuck?" Max snarled intimidatingly at Danny.

"You heard me. Now please move aside." Danny tried to walk past him but Max pushed him.

"I'm not going anywhere." Max growled with hatred as he stood over the Californian.

Danny became nervous when Max got closer to him with a clenched fist. Such actions made Danny do the same. The hatred of his bitter rival brewed deep within himself as he held his ground. But upon this, he relaxed his hand and gave up his adrenaline.

"Mr. Murray." An older voice called from behind the angry jock. He stopped to turn around, to see one of Danny's teachers, Mr. Evans, waving a finger for Max to follow. He turned back to Danny.

"You're lucky this time, boy." Max infuriatingly mumbles. "Just watch your mouth, or I'll come after you."

Danny watched his enemy walk away towards Mr. Evans. At that moment, Danny gave a sigh of relief. At least that walking dunce was finally out of his hair… for now.

***

Gym went by fast for Danny. A bunch of juniors played basketball for a while, so he just played 'Kryptonite' throughout the class period on his guitar. He was getting good with that guitar, playing familiar songs he listened to on his iPod. Most would come up flat, but others were smooth as the tune itself.

Since Danny was a senior, he would be dismissed from school after his 4th period class. He didn't own a car to drive home - What with freaks lurking around every corner - In fact, he lived not too far from school. About a mile's length of streets and blocks all the way to a little two story house just by the forest. So he would walk home peacefully without having to worry.

He was walking away from the school property with his favorite guitar in tow. The air was steadily warm, but the dark clouds did him no better. They only made him feel bored of his walk home. Figure, it has been a long day today, learning some stuff, practicing that guitar, and taking bullcrap from redneck jocks.

He strolled past some brick wall buildings that were painted with graffiti of some kind. He never knew what the hell these retards were writing in that squiggly junk they call artwork. Then he would walk past a run-down gas station that had broken windows, grass growing in the cracks of the cement, and one pump rusting beside a space where a pump used to be. As if someone ripped that pump off its cables and oil tubes.

"If this is gonna be home," Danny thought to himself. "Then maybe I should start living like a hobo."

As he grumbled to himself in his thoughts, Danny came across a trail leading directly into the forest. His neighborhood was pretty close to the wildlife, something Danny hoped for in the woods. As he stopped and looked into that trail for a moment, he couldn't help but feel hypnotized by this strange path. It was a long tunnel of tree branches heading away from the small city. Beams of light streamed down through the cracks of branches to produce specks of light on the dirt path. It also had the capability to lure Danny, every time he walked by this path.

Everyday he came home from school, he'd exactly find that trail. As if it was beckoning him to come closer. The woods were at least something that benefited Danny's excuse to stay in this town. He just didn't have the time to explore. So why not give this opportunity a chance?

He shrugged. "Can't hurt to take a detour." he said to himself.

Truthfully, Danny would never take the forest trail when he only knows the streets rather than the trees. But he strangely felt like changing it up a bit. Plus, it might be a shortcut towards his house. So by readjusted the strap on his shoulder he entered the woods.

The trail was plain dirt leading deeper into the foliage. Bits of grass and pine cones were scattered along the path. And the deeper down the trail he looked, the closer the distance felt.

He walked further down the road away from the sounds of cars whooshing past the spot he was at last. He started to feel a little scared now that he was away from civilization. This trail was never used by most students, so navigating was going to be new for Danny. Every turn he'd take would make him feel more scared whenever he will have this sensation of being lost. But he kept his cool and tried to think positive that he wasn't.

Upon walking, he noticed a flock of birds in a V-formation traveling his opposite direction. The tree branches above him hardly showed anything except a majority of leaves that would show the flock more clearly. The sound of multiple quaking helped him guess that they were a band of ducks flying back home after winter. But there was something else that caught his attention; the ducks suddenly scattered in all directions, quaking louder in surprise. Like they were avoiding something. It could've been just some hunters trying to shoot them down, but he didn't hear gunfire for miles.

But it turned out, they WERE avoiding something.

Suddenly, a small storm started to brew within the clouds. Creating some sort of cyclone ring formation.

"What the hell?" Danny whispered, ogling at the cyclone that molded inside the clouds. It kept swirling until a loud thunderous boom shot a beam of light down towards a spot close to Danny's position. It rattled the ground in a tiny earthquake, making him stumble slightly.

He regained his stance when this phenomenon finally ceased. The light went away and the cyclone portal formed back into clouds. The storm also stopped, reverting back to plain blue skies.

Danny was now even more frightened, but he was mostly incredibly curious. He wasn't sure what this strange weather was all about, but he wanted to find out. So foolishly, he went to investigate.

He ran towards the area where the light shined, dashing past leaves and shrubs as they gently scratched his arms or tugged on his case. Some branches were sharp when he grazed them, as if those branches demanded he should not see what lied ahead of him. They left small tears on his teal t-shirt whenever he forced himself against them.

He began to see a clearing approach him. He jumped out of the last bit of shrubs into a wide clearing with a giant boulder resting beside him.

He was expecting to see some sort of UFO, but all he saw was… a guy. Just a plain guy standing in the middle of the clearing. Although "plain" shouldn't have been the correct definition for this particular man.

His hair was as white as snow, fashioned to cover his right eye, while a goatee under his chin was colored the same as his hair. He wore a brown overcoat, over a yellow shirt wearing khakis. And for some reason, he had a yellow glove on only one hand. But what was the most odd about this fellow, was an overgrown tooth sticking out of his mouth.

Danny just stood there utterly confused.

"Oh what a trip." the man chimed to himself, "I might take a snack or two next time." He didn't seem to notice Danny staring directly at him.

"Hey!" Danny called the gentleman who turned around, "What are you do-"

"Wha-WHAAT!? Oh by the goddess, what a horrific sight you are!" he shuddered in astonishment.

"What the... I'm not horrific, dude!" Danny replied. "Now what the hell are you doing here? Didn't you see that... that thing... up there?" Danny pointed to the sky above him.

He followed the teen's hand, leaden towards the clouds where the light show was. "Oh, that? I didn't see it. Must've missed it."

"What? But you were just under it, you didn't see it?"

"Nope, sorry sir. Now would you kindly tell me where Celestia took me?"

"Who the hell is Celestia?" Danny asked a little frustrated.

"Heeelllooo!" The man knocked on his cranium like knocking on a door. "The almighty Princess Celestia, ruler of Equestria, and deity to all pony kind?" He sounded like Danny didn't know any of this. Well, he didn't.

Danny rubbed his head from the man's knocking.

"Dude, Seriously?" Danny queried annoyed, "There is no Princess Celestia or an Equestria here."

The man jolted his head in realization.

"Oh, that's right." he said. "The princess teleported me to fix this flimsy little world or something like that."

"Alright, hold up for a second. You… were teleported here... by a princess?" Danny skepticism was present, with a smug written on his face. "Toooo... fix this world?"

Danny had a feeling this guy was just a loon who wandered into the woods. And went insane thinking he's some traveler from some sort of world called' Equestria.'. Most crazies he finds aren't like this, usually they're so annoying that they're considered insane. Look at how Max was like.

"Dude, what the fuck are you talking about!?" Danny exclaimed.

The man was taken back by Danny's use of language in his sentence.

"Tsk, Tsk young boy." He wagged his finger. "Using such bad words to the master of chaos."

At this point Danny's eye began to twitch as he stood silent.

"Okay I'll ask again. WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!" Danny yelled, making the man flinche at his behavior.

He coverd his mouth with the gloved hand.

"Shhh, easy on the tone." the man shushed Danny.

But when he held Danny's struggling mouth, he suddenly noticed his hand.

"What the... What happened to my paw?" The man yelped in shock as he looked closely at his fingers. He then wriggled them, inspected the back of it, and even touched it with his other hand. But upon that, it lead his attention to his other hand. "What happened to ME!?"

"Dude, chill." Danny tried to comfort the frightened man, "There is no paw on you. Just calm down." He tried to ease him but was clearly not working.

In desperation, the man ran to a nearby puddle conveniently located right by the two. He kneeled down and looked into the reflection of himself in the water. Revealing a pale-skinned man with a white comb-over hairstyle and a gauge pierced into his ear.

He gasped.

"Oh no! Not my goat complexion! Why Celsetia! WHHYYY!!!" He shouted dramatically into the sky with his hands in the air.

Danny just had about enough of this freak's antics. He rolled his eyes as he walked over to the sobbing man.

"Uh, Dude? You done?" He deadpanned while resting a hand on his shoulder.

"Yeah I'm good." The man blankly replied.

"Okay, now let's start over." The two men stood up. "What's your name?"

"Oh, well if you must know, it's Discord. MASTER OF CHOAS!!" He dramatically shouted while, for some reason, lightning flashed in the air. Danny assumed it was just the storm's lightning.

"Oookaay..." Danny mused. "Well... my name's Danny." He extended his hand. Discord hesitated for a minute observing Danny's hand.

"Umm, nice to meet you?" He curiously replied and shook his hand.

"Okay, intro went smooth." Danny muttered under his breath, "Now, can you explain to me what you're doing out in the middle of the woods?"

"Certainly, Danny." Discord chimed. "I was just sent by Princesses Celestia to-"

"Yeah, yeah I know that already. But could you tell me why you're here?"

"Oh, um, sure." He coughed a little. "I've been sent here to help restore the harmony in this universe." Discord replied casually.

Danny raises an eyebrow. "Universe? What are you, some sort of inter-dimensional demon?" He chortled.

Discord smiled smugly. "You could say that." He replied mischievously. Discord then turned to the giant boulder Danny came out of, and snapped his fingers.

Danny was awe struck when he saw the rock actually transform into live stone elephant. It bellowed loudly just like any other pachyderm would do. Discord then snapped his fingers again, causing the rocky beast to crumble into gravel on the spot. He then looked to Danny, who's jaw was hitting the floor.

"Still not impressed?" Discord sneered.

Danny shook his head. "No, no... t-that won't be necessary." he stammered, still bewildered by what he just witnessed.

"Well, now that that's out of the way," Discord said, "what say we get on with the day, huh?"

Danny wasn't quite sure how to react to such a predicament. Being with a real demon, it was nerve wrecking to this guy. A fear of selling his soul to this guy crossed his mind. But when he said something about this 'restoring harmony' business, the thought quickly vanished.

"Ummm... sure?" Danny finally uttered.

"Great, now where's the nearest restaurant?" Discord rubbed his hands together. "I'm quite famished after that trip." Danny suspected that that cloud formation earlier was possibly a portal.

"Well, what do demons normally eat?" Danny asked. "Souls? Cause mine's not on the menu."

"Souls? Why no dear Danny." Discord replied a little disturbed, "I'm not that kind of demon. I could settle for just about anything."

"... Okay." He was hoping he didn't mean anything like flesh or blood. "Well... follow me." Danny waved his hand back to the road he was on. "I'll feed you some leftovers my dad made."

"Oh, wonderful. I'm so hungry, I'm nothing but skin and bones." Discord then pulled his coat open, revealing a bare ribcage and spinal column where his abdomen should've been.

"AHHH! Put that away, man!!" Danny was horrified as he raised his arms to cover his eyes.

"What?" Discord cocked his head.

***

The walk back to Danny's house was pretty short, what with the shortcut cutting past the cities so no one could see Discord behind him. He would swivel his head taking a gander at the suburbs. Looking at house after house as he followed the human. He became both interested and disgusted. Interested, because of the way these house were fashioned compared to pony built houses or castles. And disgusted because of how they look, with yellow grass, foreclosed signs on the windows, and trash in certain parts of each lawn.

Danny managed to ignore the filth that portrayed his neighborhood. Because it didn't really matter to him at the slightest. He walked by these houses day and night, and quickly got used to it. Although the streets back home were never always this trashy, he didn't care.

The two boys were about 50 yards closer to the house. Danny could instantly see the familiar light blue paint that he burned in the back of his brain to find his house so easily. It had some chipped places due to harsh rains, but the rooftop and garage were decent enough to pass as a regular house. But something else caught his attention: His dad's car parked on the driveway.

"Shit! My dad's home!" whispered Danny incase his dad was aware of his presence. He turned to Discord in shock. "You need to hide."

"Why?" Discord asked.

"Because my dad doesn't let me bring guests home." Danny's father was also vigilant towards this hellish village. And he made sure of that by not letting anyone within his property. It was kind of a phobia he developed when a lone robber attempted to break down his door back in California. From there, he took many precautions, even telling his son not to invite kids from school, or anywhere for that matter.

"We're gonna have to find a way in." Danny quietly said, before concocting a plan in mind, "Okay, I think know a way to get inside. Come here." Danny gestured for his companion to follow him to a bush right beside his driveway.

"Okay here's the plan: You wait out here until I give a signal-"

"What signal?" Discord asked.

"Uh, I don't know... I-I'll yell out a word while I talk to my dad. If you hear me, carefully walk inside while I keep him distracted. Okay?"

Danny was worried Discord wouldn't understand, but the demon man had a confident look of agreement. And for that he nodded his head.

"Okay, just wait by the door." Danny gave orders and Discord obeyed.

He went up against the door frame while Danny walked up to the white door that had an oval window design on the front. He looked at Discord waiting right beside him. Danny twisted the knob, allowing him to push the door and enter.

"Dad! I'm home!" He called into the house.

"I'm in the kitchen!" an older voice responded from another room.

Danny was starting to feel a tad nervous about this plan. All sorts of thoughts brewed in his mind as to what would happen if he is caught smuggling a stranger. But he took a deep breath as he approached the kitchen.

His dad was sitting at the dinner table, paying bills as usual. He wore a light blue button-up long sleeve shirt that had his name tag pinned on his chest. His hair was comb back hiding slightly noticeable gray hairs. And his reading glasses brought out his dark-brown eyes, which were now staring at Danny.

"Hey son, did you have good day?" He put down a bill on the table.

"Hey dad, and... yeah it was great."

"Oh yeah. REEEAALL great." He thought in mind.

"Well that's great. Do you have any homework?"

"Uh, no. But..." Danny hesitated, "I wanted to talk to you about something."

"What is it?"

Danny walked to the other end of the kitchen to turn his dad's head away from the lobby. He hoped his new 'friend' is waiting behind the front door as planned.

"How do you feel if I brought a friend over?" Danny sheepishly said.

His father looked his son in confusion.

"I'd say 'No' of course." his dad replied. "You know better than to bring home someone I've never met."

"No, no I'm not asking." Danny quickly exclaimed. "I just wanted to know why. But that's okay, I won't bring any friends over, I promise." He smiles.

"Good. Now why don't you head to your room while I work?" He gestured his pen telling his son to go.

"Uh, yeah. Sure thing dad. I'll GET MOVING right away." Danny added emphasis to his sentence as his signal. But there's another problem to handle.

The sound of the door creaking open.

His face wrinkled in fear as he began to hear the door slowly opening. He had to think fast, so he devised a quick plan.

"Uh, so dad?" Danny enhanced his volume in the room. "How was your day?"

"Good actually." his dad replied happily. "We had a lot of customers come in for our special sales." The door continued creaking. But at least his father hasn't taken notice at all, so Danny kept the conversation going.

"That's good!" Danny panics. His dad paused for a minute and looked at the boy, now terrified by the loud creaking.

"You alright son?" he asked concerned.

Discord was finally visible under the archway, bringing joy to Danny at an instant.

"Uh, yeah. Yeah, totally alright. I just uh..." Then without warning, the phone rang.

"I'll get it." His dad said and started to rise from his chair.

Everything was going according to plan, but Discord was still in the lobby. Danny panicked and started flailing his arms up and about, trying to signal Discord to hustle across the room.

"WHAT are you doing!!?? Get outta here!!" Danny whispered as he waved his hands telling Discord to head upstairs while his dad was on the phone. Discord actually understood and made haste upstairs.

The father then grabbed the phone. "Hello?" he said. "Oh, hey Chuck…. No I'm not busy at the moment…"

Danny's dad was completely unaware, and so Danny attempted to make a break for his room. But before he could exit the kitchen, Discord poked his head out, and hungrily eyes the refrigerator on the other side.

"Head upstairs, now!" Danny whispered.

"Hold on Dan." He licked his lips. "I could go for some dinner right about now."

Without heeding to Danny, the demon man unexpectedly flew over him. Astonishing Danny like never before. But he didn;t care about some flying magic act.

"NO, NOOO!" Danny squeaked. Discord wasn't listening and swooped around the man on the phone. Floating idly towards the fridge like an eel in the water stalking its prey.

Danny was much too terrified of this situation when his dad started to turn around. Under the overwhelming fear of getting caught, Danny just looked away from the scene and waited for his dad to scream. He sweated profusely with anticipation, and he cringed in fear. But strangely enough, there was no shout emanating from the room. He just kept hearing him converse with his friend.

"...That's great, when is it... REALLY!? Chuck, that's awesome!"

In a curios state, Danny peaked his head out. Thankfully, Discord was no where in sight. He quickly glanced about the room to try and locate him, but he was just gone. Not even in plain sight, just vanished from his dad's eyes. He kept wondering where Discord was lurking, until someone tapped his shoulder. He gasped slightly as he turned.

"Do you have any rye bread?" Discord smiled while holding a sandwich on a plate.

"Ugh! Come on!" Danny yanked Discord's arm with frustration. He lead them up the stairs, and safely into his bedroom. With a slam of his door and twist of the lock, he turns to his friend digging into his well-prepared meal.

Danny put his guitar bag down on the bed.

"What the fuck was that about!?" He shouted at him.

"What? I'm hungry." Discord calmly replied. "Oh, and I must say you creatures have the most delectable food I have ever eaten."

"Okay, first of all: We're called humans. Second: You didn't have to make dinner by floating into there and risk getting caught. I could've just made you a sandwich and bring it up here."

"I told you, I'm the master of chaos. I can do anything." He smiled mischievously. "And by anything, I can also remain silent to the naked eye." He then transformed into ninja attire and performed silly karate moves around the room.

"I don't care. If you're staying here, you listen to me, okay?" Discord ceased his getup and looked at Danny.

"Wait, you're... letting me stay here? With you?" He asked quizzically.

"... Well... yeah." Danny shrugged. "Figure, you came from another universe. So I'll let you stay here till this Celestia person takes you back."

Discord stood there for a moment, holding his half-eaten sandwich. He started to think of what influencing off this human is going to provide for him, and it might be positive.

"Okay, Danny." He smiled at him firmly, "I'll listen."

Danny smiled back.

"Okay. Noooww..." Danny trailed off while looking around his room for something to do for the rest of the night. There's some CDs he could listen to. Some movies to watch. But he looked at his PS3 which laid flat in front of the TV. With one controller plugged into the console. He does have a spare controller for Discord to use, but he's going to have to learn the basics of the buttons of this device. He wasn't sure if this demon kid knew how to use a technologically advance machine.

"Never under estimate a God of chaos." He shrugged his shoulders and reached for the system.

"You know how to use a PS3?" Danny asks as he's reaching into the dresser drawer for another controller.

"A what?" Discord tilted his head.

At an instant, their conversation was halted by a few knocks at the door.

"Shit! Quick hide!" Danny whispered for Discord to evade. He does so by shapeshifting into one of his posters. Blending into a L.A. Laker poster as Kobe Bryant with white hair, in a dunking pose.

Meanwhile, Danny opened the door, revealing his dad standing on the other side wearing a coat over his grocery uniform.

"Hey dad." Danny sheepishly smiled.

"Hey Danny." his father replied, holding his satchel. "Listen, I've got to go back to the store for something. Will you be fine here by yourself?"

Danny looks over his shoulder to glance at Discord still holding that pose in the poster.

He smiled. "Yeah, dad," he answered happily. "I'll do great."

"Okay," his father nodded slightly. "I'll have my number if you need me."

He then went walked down the staircase and headed out the door. Once Danny heard that appeasing shut, he felt safe to expose his guest into the house.

"Okay, Discord." The demon got out of the poster in a mist of fog, reappearing in front of Danny. "What do you say we play a little Call of Duty?" Danny implied smugly.

"Call of What-now?"

"Nevermind, just grab a controller and follow me."

Chapter 3: Let the Chaos Begin

The night was spent pretty decently for Danny and his new comrade. Although he wasn't considered a friend at all, he made good company. He's not much of a nuisance on some occasions, for the fact Discord still pulls his leg whenever he randomly feels like it. But Danny got used to it pretty effectively.

He had friends like this back in California, even though Discord has crazy powers that could resemble a cartoon. Such as conjuring a rock to come to life in the shape of an elephant, or providing an expression for his starvation by showing his skeleton as if he was literally starving to death. No, Danny's friends were mostly spontaneous and funny.

Anyway, Danny and Discord spent the night away while the parent was out making last minute transactions. They played some first-person shooter type games until a quarter to midnight. Danny was nailing his opponent in every single game he had, mainly because Discord was pretty new to it all. One moment during the night, Discord becomes increasingly frustrated at this game and actually transported himself into the virtual battlefield. It didn't strike Danny's attention until he was shot by a sniper several yards out by a pale looking soldier with a goatee.

It kind of amazed Danny of how this demon can do all sorts of random junk that he can never describe. With the magic, the flying, and the shapeshifting. This guy was quite a riot.

Discord on the other hand was rather confused at how this simple creature wasn't scared or bothered at the slightest.

"I wonder why." he'd always think.

By the time the moon was at its peak in the night sky, the two players decided to turn in. Danny had a spare sleeping bag in his closet, so Discord wasn't bed-less for the night. As for Danny's father, he came home and just climbed into bed. Figure, it was late and who knows what kind of business he was handling at the store. Maybe some customers that wanted some late night snacks or beer.

Meanwhile, the blissful thought of sleep overtook Danny, before he finally closed his eyes.

"Night, Discord." he yawned.

"Good night, Danny." Discord replied exactly.

The room became quiet in a matter of minutes.

***

By the next morning, a loud annoying buzzing sound emitted from the bedside drawer near Danny's drowsy head. It sounded off, pulling him away from his dreamland paradise. He growled as he attempted to slam the clock, causing it to finally cease its bellowing buzzing.

Danny then stretched his arms and yawned, "Mornin', dude."

He didn't hear a word from his temporary roommate. He tried to call for him again, resulting the same as before.

"Dude?" He shifted his head down beside his bed where he set the sleeping bag. It was completely deflated with no one inside. He was sure that he was in his bed for a moment, until thought popped into his mind. It might have been a dream all last night simulating yesterday. Figure, no other person can do all sorts of pallor tricks like any other. But having mixed thoughts disagreed with him.

Interrupting his musing, Danny picked up a faint smell crawling into his nose. It smelled of eggs, toast, and... burning!?

"Oh shit!" Danny reacted like a frog on a frying pan as he quickly jumped out of bed and towards the kitchen. The smell of burning became stronger as he descend down the stairs, skipping every two steps in order to reach the bottom. He finally came to the kitchen to see a puff of white hair in front of the stove. With a gushing inferno spiking out of a frying pan.

"Discord!!" he shouted for the man's attention.

He turned around. "Oh hi Danny, how'd you sleep?" He replied calmly.

"What the hell's burning!?" Danny suddenly rushed into the kitchen.

"I felt a bit peckish once again and decided to make some breakfast." He shook the pan with normal behavior, unaware of Danny's ballistic shrieking.

"Dude!" Danny shouted. "You're gonna burn the whole freaking house down!!"

"Oh sorry." He then snapped his fingers and the fire was instantly extinguished. "There, no fire." Discord smiled.

Danny's furious rage subsided almost instantaneous. "What the hell are you cooking anyway?" he asked, simmering down his panic attack.

"Just some paper I found on the table. I thought it would taste better if seasoned right." Discord replied, resulting in only confusing Danny.

"Why would you eat paper?" Danny raised an eyebrow.

"Not sure, but it's just delicious." Danny was even more puzzled, stunned even.

At the mention of papers, he starts to think about what exact papers the demon was talking about. He then glances behind Discord and notices a loose calculator. He suspected his father must've left it there after… paying bills.

"Wait, what papers?" Danny queried with worry.

As Discord was still focused on his breakfast creation, he pointed Danny in the direction of the kitchen table. Right where the calculator was idly sitting.

"What was on those papers?"

"Geez, you're pretty nosy aren't you?" Discord mumbled. "Well if must know, I found some ridiculous numbers printed onto them."

"YOU'RE EATING THE BILL!!!" Danny's voice echoed throughout the house. He feared his dad must've heard, but as memory served, his dad only left for work earlier than him.

"Bill?" Discord asked. "You mean a ticket you earn when you have to pay?" He didn't seem worried, just charmingly curious.

"Yes!" Danny shouted. "And now that you're eating it, my dad's gonna fucking rip my head off!!"

"Not if he doesn't find out." Discord sneered.

"What!?"

"It's simple Danny, just lie to your father and you can get away scot free." He suggested as he threw the fried paper onto a plate of eggs and toast and walked past a dumbfounded Danny.

"I can't lie to my dad." The boy sighed. "For God's sake, you can do ANYTHING. Can't you just fix the bill?"

Discord sat down at the table. "I would." He stuffed a wad of documents into his mouth with a fork. "Mmm, but I am quite impressed with the taste of recorded transactions." he said mischievously with his mouth full.

"UUUGGHH!!" Danny was growling with anger. At that time, how was he going to explain this to his dad?

"It's okay, Danny." He huffed to himself. "He probably already paid that bill last night. Just calm down, and sort this out later."

His self therapy was working when he took a deep breath to ease the irritable news. But that exercise was halted when he noticed the clock on his kitchen wall. It was ten past 8:00. He then suddenly remembered it was a school-day today, and class always began at 7:00.

"Oh shit! I'm late!" Danny exclaimed and made a mad dash back to his room. Leaving Discord to plainly look at him as he continued to eat his breakfast.

Danny then reached the bedroom and started to scramble faster than normal for some clothes to wear. But there was no clean clothes in his drawers or closet. He was only left with some dirty shorts and shirts splattered across his carpeted floor. The best and the only idea left from there was to make do.

"Late for what?" Discord suddenly popped up in his room without walking in through the door. He sat in mid-air above Danny, still enjoying his paper meal.

"Late… for school!" Danny tried to squeeze himself into his jeans.

Discord jolted his head at that word.

"School? Oh what a coincidence." Discord commented. "Celestia actually asked me to start there for my training."

The human looked at his roommate with sudden curiosity.

"Really?" Danny questioned. "What training?"

"Why to practice my powers for good of course." Discord replied cheerily.

Danny paused preparing his clothes.

"I don't know about that, Discord." he doubted. "We might need to register you in, which might take a month or two, Plus, I've got a bad feeling that you might get us into trouble. What with you being a demon and all, they could catch us."

"Oh don't worry," Discord assured, "I'll blend right in." He then ate the last of his food and snapped his fingers to send the plate away. "What with me being a human and all, I'll be just like one of you."

Danny zipped up his fly on his jeans.

"Listen, you're not one of us." he implied seriously. "You're just a demon man sent here to... do whatever you were told by this Celestia person. Okay? I think you should follow me and do as I say."

"Fiiiine." Discord grunts displeased. "But first, may I have a bite of those papers I found in your bag? I could certainly go for some seconds."

At that said, Discord eyed Danny's backpack by the bed now strapped to the human's back.

"Try to and I'll send your ass back to hell." Danny deadpanned.

***

The day outside was pretty decent for a rundown redneck town. The nearby trees sang with birds buried deep within them, while the clear blue sky just looked down watching the two boys exit the house.

Danny locked it up with his spare key and buried it underneath the mat. His dad was usually home before he leaves, but with a turn of schedule, his dad works overtime to earn extra money for the house. A lot of it goes to mortgage but little helps with school stuff, essentials, trips, and other neat stuff to buy. But clearly, there wasn't enough to afford a better neighborhood.

Danny and Discord walked idly down the sidewalk, passing the same shriveled houses that should've been condemned. Danny would always get used to it but Discord was a little appalled by such yard care.

"Why do you live in such a filthy mess?" Discord spat as they continued to stroll.

"Not sure," Danny shrugged, "money issues I guess."

"Then how come you don't make more money?"

"My dad's been busting his ass to make our lives better. I'd rather not rush him."

"Well if you ask me," Discord replied, glancing at a nearby yard, "that flowerbed could use a little touch up."

He then vanished from Danny's side, and reappeared in the neighbor's yard dressed like a gardener. He poured a watering can on the wilted flowers, and they quickly erected back into their original form. It would've amused the human boy, but that was too soon to call for when they immediately came to life and started snarling and growling like rabid animals.

Discord then disappeared and reappeared by Danny.

"There, my first good deed of the day." he mischievously smiled.

"Good deed?" Danny huffed. "You just gave the neighbor his own little pests!"

"Don't you love them?" Discord chimed, once again ignoring the boy. "I call them 'tantrum tulips'."

Danny glared harshly at the demon man.

"Oh alright." Discord grumbled and snapped his fingers, causing the devil tulips to wilt on the spot. "Happy now?"

"Quite." Danny plainly replied. "And what do you mean by your good deed of the day?"

"Oh I'm still practicing on how to use my powers for good, no thanks to that Celestia." Discord grouched.

"Again, who's Celestia?"

"What? Did I not specify when we were first introduced?" he replied sarcastically. "She is the ruler of Equestria, as I previously stated. And watches all of the land of ponies-"

"Ponies?" Danny queried.

"Why yes, ponies. A bunch of goody-goody equines that live together in harmony." Discord said, disgusted by the thought.

Danny was rather inquisitive about this world of Discord's. Filled with ponies and a princess, living happily together. It sounded lovely, but apparently not to this guy. Discord described this world like it was a disease, and didn't want anything to do with it.

"You make it sound like it sucks," Danny said. "but it actually sounds... pretty cool."

"Well to the common pony yes," Discord replied, "but not to me. I'm the God of chaos, for I bring the chaos to such harmony."

"Yeah I know that part. But why do you do it?"

Discord paused walking, making Danny do the same.

"I'm... not quite sure." Discord pondered, before shaking his head. "But I'd rather not think too much into it."

He then continued walking, leaving Danny even more puzzled.

"You are the weirdest S.O.B I've ever met." Danny commented.

***

Within a few minutes of walking, the two gentlemen finally reached the school property. The building stood tall in the suburbs, with concrete stairs leading up to the entrance. Windows stretched high along the building, giving a peek of what the interior is like. Plus, no teacher on duty guarding the entrance, giving the two lads a slight edge at entering the building.

Inside, the halls were almost empty. Just a few students wandering here and there. He could almost blend right in on his way to the councilor's office. Signing in Discord would be a cinch, but without important documents or backstory of this demon, it might not work. It did cross Danny's mind, and for that, he cursed himself for not thinking ahead.

There was no turning back once the boys found the office door reading, Senior counselor, on the door. Danny then hesitantly knocked.

"Yes, come in." a voice on the other side replied bleakly.

Opening the door, they both are greeted by a large, hefty woman running the desk in the middle of a slightly decorated room. Her attire was just a large sweater and teacher I.D. tag naming her Franny. While her brown hair looked flat, only revealing a bun behind her head.

"You're late, Mr. Gilroy." she said, looking carelessly behind her work glasses.

"Yeah, I know." Danny quickly replied, hoping she wouldn't care about the tardy. "But, I'm late because I had took... register this guy."

The teacher stared without care at the odd looking boy standing beside Danny.

"And he wants to be a student?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Uh, yes."

Franny just so happened to be chewing gum, looking blankly at this demon guy. She was observing him carefully but still carelessly. After a few seconds of mild observation, she responded.

"Yeah, alright." She shrugged. "Like I care about how many kids show up."

Danny suddenly felt appeased at that moment. He was very much glad that she didn't bother to take a closer look. She just remained in her desk typing on the computer as the two were on stand by.

"What's your name?" she asked, looking at Discord.

Turns out, that moment of satisfaction didn't stay for long. Danny began to grow hysterical again, trying to devise a perfect name for Discord. With a name like that, people are bound to wonder.

"Uhh... Di-Dis..." Danny stammered for a name.

"Dickinson!" Discord quickly acted. "Reginald Dickinson"

Danny looked at the man awestruck.

"And where are you transferring from?"

"Denver." said Danny. "He just transferred from... a Denver high school."

"Okay, Mr. Dickinson." Franny finally replied. "Let me just find your name in the Colorado schools database, and we'll see if you're eligible." She then begins typing again.

Now Danny started to really panic. It would be obvious that there isn't a student in Denver by the name of Reginald Dickinson. Looking beside himself, his friend was completely unfazed by such worriment.

"Dude!" Danny whispered to Discord while the councilor was distracted. "Don't just sit there! Do something!"

"About what?" Discord asked.

"Your name! Put your name on the list that pops on that computer!" At that said, the teacher has already found the website. "Hurry!"

Discord sighed.

"Oh fine." he grumbled. Then snapped his fingers, reassuring Danny that the deed was done. Now all he had to do is wait nervously for the teacher.

"Let's see... Dick, Daniel, Davidson... Ah here we are." The councilor finally spoke. "Reginald Dickinson."

Danny took a deep breath when she finally found the name. He then turned to Discord and nodded with respect, while he just replied sticking his tongue out.

"Now I need to see your papers, Mr. Dickinson." Franny asked.

"Oh, come on!" Danny exclaimed in his thoughts. "Uh, what papers?"

"The documents telling me whether this kid can join or not."

"Oh, those papers." Discord once again interrupted. "They are right here."

He then pulls out a folder from his back out of nowhere.

"Thank you, Reginald." Franny neglectfully replied. She grabbed the folder and opened it, revealing a collage of pictures and papers, describing Discord's unusual hobbies.

"Let's see…" SHe began to scrutinize the folder. "You're captain of the water ski club, honor roll, state basketball championship…" Danny was bewildered by his friend's portfolio. "You've served in the military, you've won the national chess team, and... worked at a soup kitchen." Franny continued, slightly puzzled as much as Danny.

"How many papers does this guy have?" Danny thought to himself.

"Uh, okay Mr. Dickinson." The councilor evidentially finished her inspection. "Welcome to Chesterville High, we hope you enjoy your year."

She didn't seem fazed by the strange boy's documents, leaving Danny relaxed once again.

"Thank you very much, Miss Franny." Discord got up from his seat and bowed like a gentleman.

"Here's your schedule." Franny gave Discord his class schedule. "Since you're late for first period, just go to second and begin your classes."

"Okay, well thanks again, Miss." Danny hastily replied while tugging at Discord's sleeve.

"Hey watch the coat, mortal." Discord hissed at the human.

Danny produces a fake laugh. "Haha, good one, Reggie. No more fantasy games for you."

The two eventually walk out the room, leaving the councilor bleakly wondering.

"Okay, you're in." Danny whispered by the office door. "Now you can be one of us."

"Oh splendid." Discord replied sarcastically. "Now I can learn how to be a useless monkey in order to be fully reformed."

"Hey, cheer up dude." the teenager patted Discord's back and smiled assuringly. "You'll do fine. Just follow me, and you can be reform in no time."

All was finally well between the teens until an unexpected shriek blasts out of the door. Then the sounds of paper scuffling furiously was present within the office. Danny and Discord quickly peaked inside to see Franny trying to rid away of a swarm of flying folders and sheets of paper.

"No! Get away!" Franny cried, flapping her arms at the ghostly papers.

Danny was left astonished before he bit his lip and pulled back, slowly closing the door. He then look over at the likely suspect that caused all this. The demon only replied with his signature smug with his arms crossed.

"I have a feeling this school is going to be fun." Discord mischievously chimed.

Chapter 4: Demon's First Steps

A day has passed since Discord was first registered. Since then, he has been getting used to the simplicity of everyday teen life. Sure it was a strange position for him, but it was a small price to pay if he was to return home. That is unless he was willing to cooperate with his new companion.

Danny on the other hand, did not expect such a heavy responsibility. Maintaining this creature in human's clothing wasn't exactly peaches and cream. Discord was more of a pest than a pal, and Danny was more along the lines of a babysitter. Trying to keep the demon under wraps without some secret government convoy coming to possibly torture him for interrogation.

But that didn't stir in Danny's mind one bit as him and Discord strolled through the halls on their way to class. The corridors were flooded with noisy teens, gossiping nonsense as usual. They all then began to stare at Discord as he was waltzing on by.

“Ah, my first day at school as an ordinary human.” Discord chimed beside Danny.

“Yeah,” Danny replied. “Like no other human has snow white hair and an overgrown incisor hanging out of his mouth.”

“Oh come now, Danny my boy.” Discord glanced at the students. “I guarantee your kind here can find me all so cherishing. Don't you?”

“You do understand you're in a high school? Not on the Hollywood red carpet.” The demon raised an eyebrow at that remark. “So don't expect a royal treatment as a new student. You're here to learn, not boast.”

“Since when did you turn into my mother?” Discord replied

The boy smiled. “When you started whining like a baby the moment you got here. Now are we going to class or not?”

Discord harrumphed like the child he was.

As the two kept on walking down the hall, they seemed to be turning a lot of heads. Most of the students glanced at Discord especially. Gossiping amongst themselves with whispers and giggles.

“Why are these humans so interested in us?” Discord asked.

“Like I said,” Danny shrugged. “It's not every day a dude with white hair and funny teeth shows up at our school.”

Finally, they catch the attention of some posh cheerleaders.

“Hey, Danny!” one girl said to the two gentlemen. “Who's your friend? Shouldn't he be back at the zoo? I don't think they allow walking snow owls at school.”

The other girls joined in a laugh, oblivious to Danny's self-esteem in ruins. Although, Discord didn't take that comment lightly. If he was to do some good, he can start by silencing those who dare call him out.

“Funny, huh?” Discord gave a smug at Danny.

He then snapped his fingers very sly and suddenly, a nearby water fountain began to glow slightly. The nozzle redirected itself and flashed a burst of water at the sassing squad. At that, they screamed and were suddenly dripping wet from head to toe. Their hair sticking to their heads with soggy strands, with mascara running profusely from their eyes.

Discord felt pretty good with his handy-work. While Danny was obviously surprised, but also a little amused at the hilarious sight. They then left unashamed, leaving the local pep squad to wallow in their own humility. As well as their own damp uniforms.

“How's that for funny?” Discord said, with his signature malicious grin.

Danny chortled. “Okay, I'll admit, That was pretty funny.” He then looked at him curiously. “But... why did you do that?”

Discord looked over at the human for a moment.

He shrugged. “What? Can't a God of Chaos pull a prank once and a while? It's what I do for a living. Besides, no mortal should ever cross paths with a master of chaos.”

“Yet, I'm a mortal too.”

“Look, are we going to this puny class of yours or what?” Discord huffed before picking up the pace.

Danny was still chuckling to himself, thinking back to that vengeful “accident”. Yet, he was rather dumbfounded by his friend's mischievous act. It might have been just a harmless prank, but Danny felt as though Discord was hiding something.

But either way, it was still pretty cool.

***

“Good morning, class!” the teacher called out. “And welcome to world history.”

The two boys managed to reach their first period; which ironically was both their homeroom. Students flatly stared at the teacher up front, clearly unamused to actually listen to anything he teaches. Instead, had this hankering to ditch class and smoke hemp till their pre-shambled brains finally quit on them.

Even Discord was in no mood to participate in class.

“Now, I understand this is world history.” the teacher continued. “But I couldn't help but notice we have a new student with us today.” All eyes pointed to Discord sitting idly confused beside Danny. “Young man? What's your name?”

The demon goat in disguise remained silent. That is until his friend jabbed him on his side and said, “Dude, aren't you going to introduce yourself. After all, you are a new student.” Discord glared at Danny, who replied with a smug grin adorned on his lips.

Discord groaned.

He then stood up from his seat with a beleaguered expression. All the students, as well as the teacher, took in all his features. They were more than surprised by his abnormal dentures and hair, and even the bright red eyes that hid behind his locks almost sinisterly.

He sighed. “My name is... Reginald. Reginald Dickinson.”

All the teenagers in the class then began to snicker to themselves.

“Class!” the teacher barked. “Grow up already.”

Discord was very much confused at their laughter.

“Was it something I said?” He then sat back down in his desk, looking over to Danny. “What is with you and your kind?”

Danny shrugged. “Beats me. A lot of these folks aren't exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer.”

“Why were they laughing about that name?”

The boy leaned in, whispering into Discord's ear. His eyes widened all of a sudden and he cocked his head at Danny.

“Well...” Discord mused. “I can see why they are not the sharpest knife in the drawer.”

Then the teacher began his lessons. “Okay, class.” He wrote on the chalkboard. “Let's begin toady's lesson with the French Revolution. If you would be so kind as to turn to page 34 in your textbooks, please?”

Like the zombies they were, the students glumly listened and did as the man said. Danny was about to do the same, until he noticed Discord sighing with boredom once again.

“You alright?” Danny asked the spiritless man.

“Oh no, nothing is wrong.” Discord replied, his sarcasm purposely visible. “I love to learn about the entire human race just to become a goody-goody know-it-all.” He slumped over his desk.

“Hey, this is what school is like. Now, I don't know much about what your world does in terms of education, but I have a good guess that it pretty much works the same. So just buck up and listen. Besides, it might be fun.”

“But why?” Discord argued. “How is this snooze-fest supposed to help me use my powers for good?”

“What are you talking about?”

“Boy, you humans are so pathetic.” Danny raised an eyebrow. “Do you not recall my quest? About using my powers for good? Or are you just as dimwitted as these other monkeys?”

“Mr. Dickinson.” Discord was almost startled when he heard the teacher call his fake name. “I understand you're a new student and all. But I expect more from you.” The teacher approached his desk, looming over him with absolute authority. “You should know better than to talk in the middle of class.”

“Oh! H-He was just asking if he could borrow a pencil, Mr. Evans.” Danny cut in. “He forgot to bring one to school.”

“Two hours in detention for you, Mr. Gilroy.” Evans replied unexpectedly. Danny's eyes widened.

“What!!? What did I do!?”

“That's for interrupting me when I was talking to your friend over here.” He then looked over at Discord. “As for you, Reginald. You've also earned yourself two hours in detention.”

He then hobbled on over back to his desk. From the look on Discord's face, Danny knew he was beyond exasperated at Evans's threat.

“Now, if we can continue without any distractions...” He continued his lecture up on the board.

“Well this sucks,” Danny sighed quietly. “Guess we'll be seeing each other after school, huh Discord?”

Discord grinned evilly. “Oh, but I believe our mentor might not make it today.”

His nefarious smile was once again in motion. His beady eyes narrowed at the teacher about to fall victim to another one of Discord's tricks. Although, Danny already got the heads up as to what his friend was about to plan.

“Don't do it. I know what you're thinking.” Danny whispered.

“Too late.”

Danny's pleading resulted in failure when Discord snapped his digits.

“Oh no...”

“... and that's when Napoleon, led his troops out of Russia, to-” Evans was still doing his job when he turned back to his chalkboard and noticed a large childish drawing of a monstrous dinosaur.

The students were too zoned out to have notice its appearance. But Danny saw the whole thing; right when a bunch of floating chalk sticks scribbled on the blackboard at the speed of light. He was having a bad feeling about this, and he feared it would only end worse.

“Okay, very funny, kids!” Mr. Evans remarked sarcastically as he picked up an eraser.

But before he could even touch the illustration with his tool, he could've sworn he heard a growling noise come out of the chalkboard. Of course his speculation didn't prove him wrong when the poorly drawn fossil moved.

The teacher was already in shear panic. It stared daggers at him with its beady dotted eyes. Then with one horrendous roar, the teacher ran out of the class screaming like a banshee. Leaving the students paralyzed with fear in front of the beast. Another violent roar, and every single student stampeded out the door. Screaming as equally terrified as the panic-stricken professor.

All was left was a frightened human and an all so pleased demon kid laughing hysterically.

“You're right,” Discord chuckled at Danny. “This is fun!”

While the trickster was about to bust a gut, Danny glared at him harshly.

Soon after a long hard day – and narrowly escaping the arrival of the police – Danny walked home right after his third period, dreadfully annoyed at Discord's heinous act. He stomped down the sidewalks with Discord, who floated aimlessly beside him.

“Well, I must say, Danny.” Discord sneered. “This day turned out swimmingly today, has it not?”

The human barely responded.

“Your kind is just a hilarious bunch.” He laid on his back in mid-air with his arms behind his head. “Yep. I think I'm going to like here.”

There was still no answer.

“You've got the grand gift of silence, Danny. Prey tell, what is up with you today?”

Danny stopped dead in his tracks. He produced a troubling sigh, then remained silent for a while. Discord just hovered alongside the human.

“Where do I start?” Danny mumbled. “Oh, I know. Probably because of that little stunt you pulled today!” His voice was nearly screeching.

“What? Are you talking about that prank back in homeroom?” Discord scoffed. “Oh, don't worry about that, my dear boy.” He tugged on Danny's cheeks playfully, despite his protesting retreat. “I'm sure they'll be fine. Possibly in a few days or so, depending if their therapists can fix everything.”

“I doubt that.” Danny replied flatly.

“Well, what else am I supposed to do?” He then disappeared and reappeared on a rooftop of a local house, leaning up against a weather rooster. “If you're memory is as pathetically feeble as your so called 'teacher', I'm the God of Chaos.”

He then teleported himself beside a stop sign.

“Meaning, I bring chaos and disharmony wherever I go. Kind of like my job.” He rubbed his fingernails on his shirt before appearing right behind the human.

Danny sighed deeply while pinching the bridge of his nose.

“Look, you're in a human world where it's already a shit-hole. I don't care if you're satan himself.” He continued walking down the street. “And what was that about using your powers for good?”

“What do you mean?” Danny questioned as he was slithering up and about like a kite.

“Back in homeroom, you said something like that.”

“Hmm... funny. I don't think I ever remembered anything about that.”

“Well I do. What was that about?”

“Oh, that!” Discord pretended to recall. “As I told you before, Princess Celestia has ordered me to fully reform my abilities in this dwindling planet. Apparently, I'm supposed to be fixing this world by practicing my powers to be more sincere.”

“So in other words, you were sent here to turn this place into something more friendly; something actually peaceful to live in?

“That was the notion.”

Danny thought to himself for a second as he maintained his pace. Over the last few days with this creature, Danny of course wasn't up for keeping him on the DL. Not when his insatiable desire for foolishness nearly got himself into some hot water. But despite all that, maybe he could at least try to show him how to be a good person. What with him being human and all.

Besides, if this Celestia character wants him to practice his powers for good, maybe Danny could help. It may not have been an adequate plan to commit to, but if it meant getting Discord of of this rock and back to wherever the hell he came from, he was up for the challenge.

“Hey, Discord.” Danny said. “What if I can help you. With using your powers I mean?”

The demon chuckled. “You? A mortal? Please don't make me laugh.” Danny was about to open his mouth. “No really, don't make me laugh. I wouldn't want to bust to a gut.” He laughed his ass off as he inflated himself like a balloon and popped.

“Well if this Celestia person you were talking about, says that you need to do this, then maybe I can help.” Discord brought himself back together. “I understand this isn't any of my business...”

“And it isn't.” Discord interupted.

Danny narrowed his eyes as he continued.

“But I think you need my help more than anyone here.”

“And why should I let you assist me with this task?”

The boy looked him in the eye. “It's what friends do for each other.”

Discord halted his flying act; frozen in the air. He looked at Danny with no ugly expression or even positioning his brows in a look of sarcasm. No, he stared at the human with surprise.

“You... really think of me as a friend?” he queried.

Danny shrugged a little. “Sure. I mean, even though we've just met and all, I would consider being pals with you.”

“But what about all those pranks I pulled today?” Discord landed back on his feet. “The fountain, the chalkboard monster. Does not of that even anger you at the slightest?”

“It did.” Danny plainly replied. “But you can't always dwell on the past, when you can run towards the future.”

There was nothing to be said from Discord. He didn't open his mouth, but could only faintly produce a cherishing smile. First it was a kind little pegasus pony, now a plain old human calls him a friend. Rather unexpected after his constant tomfoolery, but this human seemed to look past all that. He felt a great deal of happiness swell his black heart.

Danny couldn't help but smile as well.

“Come on.” He gestured his head. “How 'bout we call it a day with a little video games? Tomorrow, we can get started on your training.”

“I... I'd like that.” Discord replied happily. “But I'm totally going to beat you at Call of Booty!”

Danny chortled as they ran back to his house.

“Oh boy.” he laughed. “You have a lot to learn.”
