Confused, Spike wakes up to find himself in a predicament that he wouldn't be in by choice.

He doesn't mind all that much though.

Absolutely zero editing nor proof-reading was put into this. Consider that.

Three months can seem like an eternity, but in the timeless nature of hibernation, it passes in a blink. Spring is here, and Tank has awoken, ready to reunite with Rainbow Dash.

However, there's a small complication.

Luna has been Vice Principal of Canterlot High School for years, and she couldn't be happier. So she tells herself, and so she will keep telling herself, until she believes it.

However, after the Battle of the Bands, Luna finds a kindred spirit in the last place she would ever have thought to look.

And that kindred spirit isn't afraid to tell Luna what she really thinks.

Having a mare flee in terror wasn't the response Spike hoped when he was trying to say hello. The reason behind her fear, however, was far more upsetting and opened up old wounds.

Fortunately, Rainbow Dash has other ideas. After all, she needs a partner for the Equestrian Unity Challenge and he could use some time away from home. Of course, making a partnership work is hard enough without the introduction of unexpected rivals or unexpected feelings.
