In a world where cybernetics and genetic engineering, computerized dark magic and reality-altering conspiracies have long since displaced sunshine and rainbows, can one little pony hold onto her own life—and her own existence?

The land of Equestria was always one filled with light and positivity, but the darkness has been amassing, the Sin, embodiments of the evil of ponies' hearts and souls, have struck, many ponies have died, and only 4 centers of civilization remain, Canterlot, Ponyville, Bearussia, and Neigh York, the last vestiges of hope for ponykind, and they are mere motes of substance waiting to be consumed.

Princess Luna, a powerful mare who has seen first-hoof into the abyss of darkness and evil, has used her and her sister Celestia's magic to summon warriors of light, heroes that will save the land of Equestria.

She was expecting 1, 2, maybe 3 tops, and if Lady Luck was on her side, 4, but she received, not 5 or even 6, but 15 fighters to help this task.

That's not what was surprising about them, what was surprising about them was that they were not even ponies.

It has been months since Princess Luna has discovered video games, and it has been months since she found somepony worthy enough to challenge her; to meet her skills equally in virtual combat. But alas, she has beaten thousands of millions of players around the world, and not one of them came even close to her score. Shooters: she would take them down like a firing squad. Platforming: she already jumped her way to victory in ten seconds flat. Puzzles: outsmarted those poor gamers. Casual: too easy. Role-Playing Games: she's the highest level.

To Luna, multiplayer in video gaming was getting a tad bit boring, and she was desperately looking for somepony that could match her prowess. So you can imagine the joy of adrenaline she received when she met Button's mom online.

Graves is gone, departed for parts unknown without so much as a backwards glance. A quick farewell and a cold goodbye is all the marshal left before severing every tie he ever had to Ponyville, including those with Rarity.

Why? He's a soldier and it was obvious he'd one day have to leave. But the way he left, so abruptly, even callously... it just doesn't seem right. Could it be that there's something more to his departure than meets the eye? Or are thoughts like that merely fancy and wishful thinking? To find the truth, Rarity and the girls start down a long, winding road that will hopefully bring the grey eyed soldier back. Hopefully.

The Grand Galloping Gala, so far gone yet still shining bright in memory as if it were just yesterday. That night marked the turning point for Graves, the night he found something beyond the sight of his rifle, beyond the endless call to arms. It's a new beginning, a new life to spend with the friends he cares for and the one he loves. For once, the grey eyed marshal finds that he too, has a chance to live happily ever after.

Meanwhile, Rarity has taken an interest in Graves for completely different reasons. Just what does the prettiest girl in Ponyville see in the gruff, stern faced soldier? He has no idea and frankly, isn't sure he wants to find out.

What will the marshal do when his troublesome job meets the walking disaster?
