When Applebloom is sick in bed, she asks Applejack to read her a story. Not having any books to hand, Applejack decides to invent a story for her, in the style of Just So Stories.

Haunted by a great loss from long ago, Celestia once more sets into motion a series of events in hope of undoing the greatest tragedy in her long life. After a millennium of failure, could she have finally found the right pony to make her dream come true?

1000 years before FiM began, Princess Luna grew jealous of Princess Celestia, and so she refused to let the sun shine. She was stopped by Princess Celestia and imprisoned in the moon, but is that the whole story? Isn't it likely that the Elements of Harmony imprisoned Nightmare Moon in stone, like what happened to Discord?

I've heard many people joke about Celestia's overkill in sending her sister to the moon for 1000 years, but given the possible circumstances, I think there might be another reason she did what she did. After all, what sort of punishment do you think the other pony tribes called for for Nightmare Moon's crimes?

The Great and Powerful Trixie has never had friends. When a well meaning doctor reveals this is a serious medical condition, she resolves to go about fixing it, by stealing the Elements of Harmony from Twilight Sparkle. But the Elements are more than just fancy bling; they're concepts. To steal them, she'd have to steal the very essence of harmony from their weidlers. Fortunately for The Great and Powerful Trixie, she has a cutie mark in dreaming. Can she, and the group of ponies she hopes to call friends, steal the Elements of Harmony from Twilight and her friends?

Which is better: to be enlightened and miserable or oblivious and content? At what cost can paradise be bought, and at what point does it cease to be worth it?

Two years after Luna’s return from exile, these are the questions that pass through the mind of Princess Celestia each night as she waits. For over a millennia she has waited; waited for the end of war, waited for the return of her sister, and waited for a single dreadful day and the choice that she would have to make.

But she is not the only one who is waiting, nor is she the only one who seeks an end to the coming conflict. Luna and Fluttershy find themselves haunted by the same secret sin, and though they may not be aware of their connection, they must both choose between seeking forgiveness and doing what they know to be right.

Caught up in a labyrinth of breathing shadows and ancient lies, all three ponies must learn how valuable their loved ones truly are, as well as the ultimate cost of living in Harmony.
