In which I, Twilight Sparkle, (the biggest idiot in Equestria), fail miserably, utterly, and conclusively in my valiant endeavor to keep my decidedly-more-than-Friendship feelings hidden from one Rainbow Dash (the sexiest fastest mare in Equestria).

Six canisters wash up on the shore of a mysterious island paradise. Each one containing a being empowered by a single element of Harmony. These heroes have no memories, save for their names, and the sense that something is wrong. They are united by a single destiny-defeat the darkness force that threatens the land and bring harmony back to the island.

After Pinkie's latest scheme goes a step too far, Pinkie and Rainbow both find themselves suspended without pay for a week. After months of drifting apart, they finally have a chance to reconnect, but is it too late?

It's no mere coincidence that the possessors of the Elements of Harmony all wound up in Ponyville. With careful planning, convincing, and a bit of luck Princess Celestia led six mares along the right path that would forever make them the best of friends.

But first she had to find them.

Long ago, there existed a great evil. Its greatest desire was to destroy all that ever was. It nearly succeeded, but was sealed away at the last moment. Since that time, it has slowly been regaining power. It is about to escape, and the world as we know it could cease to exist.

Will the Mane Six be able to stop this force before it is too late?

Twilight Sparkle may believe in Pinkie Pie's myriad abilities, but when an opportunity to study them from a perspective she never thought possible arises, how can she resist the chance at the understanding she's always truly wanted? More importantly, can Ponyville survive the trade-off necessary for this opportunity?

This is my first fan fiction, so please give constructive criticism. I have been told that I write like a dictionary. This is simply a logical summary of what I believe to be how it all started universally. It starts with Discord creating Equestria to be used for his own amusement. He isn't being controlled by anything. Celestia creates order. Life is created.

Ever watch a TV show and think "Wow, this would work with ponies?" Ever read a book and hear a character speaking in your favorite pony's voice? Ever...well, you get the idea. And my mad mind has been hashing together bits and pieces of MLP with about every other fiction I've encountered over the past 3 months. Now, from my brain to these pages.
