It has been three months since Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo confessed their feelings for one another. For them, life has seemingly gone back to normal. However, everything changes when a new foal comes to Ponyville and ignites feelings within Sweetie Belle, feelings that she hadn't felt in a long time. Their love, loyalty and trust are put to the ultimate test as Sweetie Belle must face a shocking revelation: are her feelings for Scootaloo true or was it all just a phase that has run its course?

When her mother passes away unexpectedly, Twilight Sparkle reflects on a parent she neglected in pursuit of her own dreams. With only a little time left before the funeral, she returns home to piece together what she can of a life she barely remembers, hoping to make peace with the memories of a pony she took for granted.

Hearts and Hooves day, a day rather infamous in Cheerilee's classroom. Apple Bloom needs to help out at the farm since Big Mac has plans, leaving Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle to figure out what to do with their time. An off-hoof suggestion points them in the direction of a date, given the holiday. From there, they try to figure out the rest.

When Applebloom comes across some spades in the apple-orchard, the crusaders are ecstatic. They believe the discovery has opened up a whole new door of opportunity in the ongoing quest of earning their cutie marks. Armed with their new commodities, the three young fillies embark on a digging adventure.

As usual, however, things don't seem to go according to plan...

Applebloom is tired of being treated like a filly! She's a big pony, darn it! She wants the respect of her brother and sister, so she decides to take a drink of something definitely not meant for fillies. What happens afterward will convince her to never touch her brother's apple whisky ever again.

The following piece was written before season 3 and I'm not going back to change it, because this story flies in the face of canon anyway. Every dumb joke or tired brony-ism you can think of has been used in this fic for comedic purposes. Leave you offended-ness at the door, and enter, THE APPLE ZONE.
