The Equestrian Space Agency, or ESA, has finally sent their fourth scientific mission to the moon to study lunar geology and gain a greater understanding of their stellar neighbor. For Orion Zephyr, it is his first mission beyond low orbit of Equis, and while he's excited for his journey to the stars, he, along with his crewmates, are unaware of what truly hides beneath the lunar surface. As they set down and begin their duties, the crew of the Luna 4 come to realize; something else is still up here.

Arizona had voiced her concern and Tianhuo adamantly despised concept of working with him, but Oleander never listened, often staying on his side during arguments that really should have indicated that something was off with him, but that’s probably what he was counting on. Slowly manipulating her and turning her against the others so that they couldn’t stop him when he showed his true colours, and now...

She had nothing to lose.

In the blighted world of the Flim Flam timeline, Big Mac and Zephyr Breeze hold on to the remains of what they've lost.

written in one day for the May Pairings Contest 2023 and the 2023 Cyberpunk Equestria Story Contest.

this ended up being a lot of weird ideas about the Flim Flam timeline inspired by Paolo Bacigalupi's "The Calorie Man". the noun "calorie-mare" in this story is, of course, very directly inspired.

Lemon Zest is pretty lucky for a pony who just got fried to death, as she scores the one in ten thousand chance a pony has at becoming a ghost. Knowing nothing about how to survive the afterlife, Zest seeks out the guidance of a far older and more experienced specter named Sugarcoat. Fittingly finding herself haunting an abandoned schoolhouse, Lemon Zest will need to learn the basics if she ever wants to be a pro-ghost.
Of course, tuition isn't entirely free, and Sugarcoat will expect Lemon Zest to help her recruit more ghosts to the lonely Shadowbolt Academy.

Sea storms are a nasty but well-paid business: the business of Mobile Ops Pegasi Stormfighters. The small, pet-like "storms" cultured on mainland are nothing by comparison and hardly deserving of the name. Tempests on the ocean have no master. They're monstrous machines of pure untamed brutality. Only cruise-liners or larger naval vessels maintain teams large enough to actually waylay a storm of such scales, and even then each pegasus has the work of five.

Smaller ships with only a team of four, like The Bumbler, could at best hope to make the weather a little less deadly in anything stronger than a squall. By the mediocre standards of most inland ponies it would seem cruel to send two pegasi out in such conditions, but that's what they are paid to do. And the more dire the storm, the more necessary their job.

Lavender Staar spends her days trying to find a good job but hasn't had much luck yet. Fortunately, she gets called to Canterlot Castle for a job interview by Princess Celestia along with others to work as a janitor. It's not much, but it would help Lavender feed herself. The castle and the land surrounding it feel...off, however.
