I collect horror stories (cordyceps, zombies, cosmic horror, the works)

Dark with a Good End 9 stories
  • Dark with a Good End 9 stories Shelf Title does not necessarily mean nobody dies. It just means that the badness stops one way or another and at least someone survives long enough to see the end and maybe move past it. Horror comedies are abundant here!

  • Stuff about Apocalypse Scenarios 11 stories I just like stories where everything is basically awful forever for the whole world. Might have overlap with Dark With A Good Ending and Dark n Bitter depending on how many ponies survive.

  • Bittersweet Top Picks 7 stories These ones kinda hurt, but it's not all bad. Implies some sort of 'gentle' or hopeful resolution that cushions the blow from the rest of the story. Everything else might've been painful but it's over, they're at peace.

  • Pony of the Week Becomes A Freak 4 stories Involves the sudden or secret downward spiral of a single focal character into Probably Murder. Implies a lack of outside forces directly acting on the character's mind such as possession, but can include mind altering drugs and supernatural sources of stress. It's usually Twilight or Pinkie.

  • Impostor Syndrome 3 stories Implies that the wrongness is contained entirely within one horse, and is the result of an outside force acting upon that horse instead of being a (semi)voluntary action. Said horse may not actually be who they claim to be, hence shelf title. Mutually exclusive with PotWBaF shelf

  • Dark n Bitter 14 stories Well that went REALLY wrong REALLY fast. 'Oh Shit...' ending and/or elements of fridge horror are mandatory here! Nobody gets a happy or even painless ending here!

  • What In Tarnation? 4 stories There's a repulsive twist in there somewhere. Something gross happens to at least one person as the focal point of the story. The gross thing can be gorey or not, but cannot be sexual. This genre overrides all other shelf categories unless there's a total apocalypse scenario in there somewhere too.

  • Everypony Hated That 3 stories (Bookshelf title does not indicate I disliked the fic!!!) Wow! That basically didn't end well for literally anyone in the story! It wasn't even an apocalypse, everything just went horribly wrong for a few stupidly unlucky horses! Usually implies sadness over sheer fear factor, but still the sort of sadness that makes your skin crawl. There is no happy ending. The pain lives on after the credits roll.

  • Sort Later 4 stories Ah crap, the lazy strikes again. Wild cards I have yet to sort

When rumors start circulating that Princess Celestia has become pregnant, Twilight is quick to dismiss the rumors as impossible. However, when Celestia confirms the rumors to be true, it becomes quite clear to the Princess of Friendship that something is terribly wrong.

In the wake of another hedonistic sleepover, the Cutie Mark Crusaders wile away the last of their weekend lounging about the clubhouse, reading comics, listening to music and stuffing their faces with junk food. However, their after party revelries come to a screeching halt when an unscheduled rainstorm rolls into Ponyville that turns creatures into twisted nightmares. There is much they don't know about the situation but one thing is clear: never touch the rain. Now stranded without adults by a storm seemingly without end, the three must try to survive in a leaky shelter on nothing but the leftovers of their sleepover aftermath. As the waters continue to rise, the status of Ponyville or even the Apple family, just yards away, remains unknown.

A comfy horror story based on childhood memories of rain, floods, parties and classic kids' games spawned from overactive imaginations.

This story is a sequel to Blink

Twilight has never thought about where she ends up in that split second when she's neither here nor there.

The results think about it. A lot.

From refined remains, a Twilight civilisation emerges, determined to warn its creator.

Part of ocalhoun's Blink bandwagon, but with no particular connection to anything else on it.
