Some say he is just an urban legend. Others call him a ghost. Others still call him a heartless monster, living on nothing but rage, fear, and isolation.

But what is the real story behind "the Phantom Pony of Everfree"?

Fluttershy accidentally wanders into the territory of the pony everyone fears, and she is a witness to his cold, frightening fury. Scared to tears, Fluttershy is determined never to cross him again. But later, she witnesses something thought to be impossible, and deduces for herself that this "Phantom" is really a gentle, kind pony who merely suffers from the pain of loneliness. She then strives to learn the secrets behind this menace of a pony: who he is, why he lives in the woods, and why he is so angry.

The Phantom Pony, Nocturne, wants nothing to do with Fluttershy, and wants to avoid her at all costs. But his feelings toward her, and her friends, fluctuate over time, and he finds his mind and heart slowly changing. Whether for better or for worse, he is unsure, and he finds himself helpless against the kind light of a mare who may just know him better than he knows himself.

A rewrite of "Kind Light - A Gentle Dark Supplemental", combined with the rewrite of Chapter 1 of "The Gentle Dark".

Twilight Sparkle accomplished something incredible, something not even the great Starswirl could manage. But ascension into the ranks of Equestria's princesses is not without its difficulties. Before she can take her place as princess of Friendship, Twilight must travel to the underworld and make a ceremonial offering to Death in exchange for her immortality. Twilight is more than a little surprised to discover the identity of the pony under the hood.

After years living in Ponyville and getting to know her friends, Twilight always assumed they were exactly what they seemed: a group of friendly and ambitious ponies. But as it turns out, the sort of pony who saves Equestria and decodes the ancient mysteries of Starswirl is likely to attract ponies a tad more interesting.

Updates on the 3rd or 4th Friday of every month, then daily until that section is complete.

Pleasant Trees is a forgotten place to most in the town. The most you'll hear about it is with rumors, meant to scare little kids. For all anyone knows, it's just a mental hospital. Though, for Richard, it also means Summer work, and being able to start paying off his student loans because it pays so well.

Besides, he doesn't mind working the night shift, so why wouldn't he apply?

This is a comment driven/discovery driven story. Every now and then, bios for different characters, or even places, will be brought up. There you can theorize and guess to the true nature of the subjects, and the discoveries you make there can help the main character make it through his career alright. However, understand that not everything may be as simple, or black and white, as you might think. These are not simply animatronics seeking to stuff you into a suit after all.
