It was the day of Twilight's first Crown Court. Held in front of her library, Lyra comes with a request for a study grant. Twilight takes instant interest in what she's studying and decides to make a private consultation appointment.

Lyra Heartstrings is a up-and-coming musician living in the quiet town of Ponyville. Her marefriend Bon Bon owns and operates Canter Candies, the town's specialty sweets shop. They've been together for years, and everypony around knows what a happy couple they are. But any relationship has its ups and downs, and it's hard to ignore every awkward moment.

Like when Lyra's ex arrives in town.
Because she thinks Lyra still has a thing for her.
Because someone's been impersonating her for the past few years.

...Bon Bon might be in trouble here.

Rainbow Dash struggles to figure out why Pinkie Pie keeps acting weird, and seems so happy about spending Hearts and Hooves with hanging out with her, while also puzzling over the fact that Cloud Kicker and Blossomforth seem to be going out of their way to help the two of them enjoy the day.

Cloud Kicker and Blossomforth need to have their own tags, because they're awesome characters who deserve to have more stories written about them.

Derpy arrives to work late, as usual, and finds herself tasked with the delivery of a package to a recipient whom her boss describes as "a crotchety old unicorn," who lives in the Everfree Forest. With her job on the line, Derpy ends up going above and beyond the call of duty, outflying and outrunning dragons, parasprites, river monsters, and an empty stomach, all in the name of making what would seem to be a simple delivery.
Unfortunately for Derpy, this delivery is anything but what it seems.

Lyra just wants a simple life.

She wants to live in her cozy cottage in Ponyville with her roomate, best friend and crush Bon Bon, playing the lyre whenever she wants, studying her unusual hobby of non-pony sentient creatures, where the biggest threat to her life is when a string breaks, the biggest challenge to her life is what to have for lunch, and the biggest mystery is whether Bon Bon likes her the same way.

Unfortunately the universe doesn't want to give her the privelege, it seems.

Whether dealing with supernatural mysteries, fighting demons and vampires, trying to get a cult off her tail, avoiding the chaos of Ponyville life, traversing alternate worlds, or handling the widespread destruction caused by giant alien creatures and/or robots, all that Lyra wants in her crazy life is a break. And maybe a slice of pie.

When there is trouble in Lyra and Bon Bon's relationship, hijinks occur.

With everyone away on royal business in Canterlot, Shining Armor is left with the seemingly easy task of taking care of the Cutie Mark Crusaders.

He should have listened to Fluttershy.

Now, with the 3 fillies completely out of control on the first of seven nights, Shining must call up an old "acquaintance" to help him out.
