Perfect choice of photo, Knighty. We truly have come full circle.

Ok, guys, let's keep this civilized. Respect is the key.

Very beautiful job I enjoy it

Weird I thought that an evil empire will come, and the head of it is the real grogar with Flurry as his apprentice

Wow, MLP FiM has come such a long way in terms of its artistic nature

But really Twi, the last problem? You won’t have any more problems?

I’m going to miss this show but it’s time to move on :fluttercry:

Man, I will miss this show a lot. :fluttercry:

Also, perfect way to end the MLP:FiM series, Hasbro. By closing the book Twilight had opened in the very first episode.

Do we know who Luster's parents are yet? Her mannerisms remind me a lot of Starlight. And her cutie mark screams Sunburst. :rainbowlaugh:

Keyword is a distant future.

Because it is. Most bronies says that Luster is actually the daughter of Starlight's and Sunburst's.

Honestly, this was unsatisfying. Seeing just Twilight as the new Celestia with not even a mention of Cadance and Shining Armor or even what the other Princesses are doing, and also seeing the other mane six old and clearly going to pass away and leave Twilight alone sometime soon is a very strange and empty way to portray the future.

All things are impermanent. That was kinda the point of the whole last season.

Yona: Yaks know things not forever. That's why smash and rebuild!

Interesting wording indeed. *Ponders*

Twilight’s apprentice shouldn’t have been a unicorn. Certain authors on this site really don’t need the fuel, and honestly given how much unicorns have been emphasized over the past few seasons it would have been nice to see an earth pony or pegasus to remind us of the equality between the tribes. Or even a non-pony.

🎶Do you know you're all my very best friends..........🎶😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 I'm trying not to cry despite my previous optimism earlier this season.....Oh, this Saturday sucks for me.........

Not necessarily the ending I would have liked (mostly because some things were left unexplained—things from the past and future, using the ending time as a reference point), but still a decent ending at the very least.

With G4 finally coming to an end, I felt like this song would make a good sendoff, click here if you haven't heard it and need a tune)

(Special thanks to daniboyi for coming up with these lyrics!)

As one saga ends, another begins.
But now we pay our respects to the best generation of ponies... yet to come

Colors and girly laughs,
that was all I thought you would show us.
But I felt something else when I started to watch,
and all week I waited on

Every season with you, became a treat for me,
look at the time that went on.
Sadness, Boredom, doesn’t fill me anymore
in the eyes of a brony. Oh no, no, no

You broke through girly, to connect to me,
Who'd expect you to become the best of shows for me?
You will always hold, precious memories,
hay I'll even miss Snips and Snails, Ha Ha!

From the day that I saw you (saw you),
Yeah we had a lot of good times (good times),
Even if we part ways (part ways),
this is not goodbye.
You're just passing on the torch, passing on the torch,
passing on the toooorch,
passing on the torch, passing on the torch.
Go out with a bang, and let them know your name.
You're passing on the torch.

Gen 4 rocked, many ponies Retcon’d.
Watching magic ponies without the newborn cuties!

Old generations, going through changes.
Double episode weeks, racking up show minutes.

Twilight and Spike the drake have a history, they went through a few things,
That they could make friends in Ponyville and Faust let us watch all their cute tales.

Cuz your friendship spark, was unbeatable,
we were inducted, the induction was incredible.
The many Network whacks, argghh irritable!
but they had our back, time to let the people know!

Through friendship and magic, through darkness and strife...
Its more than a show if the show is in your life...

You taught me loss, and let me see
That hating is a waste of energy,
And led my path, so clear to see,
from standard fan, to pure Brony!

Twilight Sparkle, greatest mare we’ve ever known.
Pinkie Pie, Laughter’s on, party-mare puts party on.
Applejack: farmers fun. Rodeo mare, round 'em up.
Gala’s on? Dress me up in no time short, Rarity.
Shy’s being kind in Discord’s face, reformed.
Rainbow and Rainboom, so pumped when I saw it!
Classics and this gen, Next gen, what will it bring?
Hopefully new friends, cuz the fandom needs their new fix.

After all these years together I finally know what you gave us,
Oh the Magic of Friendship will always be limitless, cuz you are our inspiration.

Goodbye 4th generation!!!

Thank you MLP... for everything...

I didn't say I want things to be permanent, it's that this is a time jump without any real closure or narrative cohesion. It's not an ending to MLP, it's just... ending. Everything familiar is gone. Why? Oh well.

I don't think Luster is their kid.

At the end, Twilight takes her to Ponyville where Luster looks at everything as if for the first time. If she were Starlight's and Sunburst's daughter, she would have grown up in Ponyville and all this would have been familiar to her.

You know, I always imagined Twilight would keep the Friendship Castle as some sort of summer home. It seems weird that she’d move out entirely. How many Royals do you know who only have the one home? I guess they were trying to make Twilight a bit more down to earth?

Well, it's the end. But let us remember the joy it has brought us.

it was an interesting 'ending' of a sorts; lots of open questions about the hows and whys things appeared as they did in the final song. I did manage to glean more then a dozen small bits of information about this 'future time' about where the characters are, who's alive and who's dead, who has what job and where, who has kids now and who is leading what city and where. I would have to gamble and say this episode is set 'somewhere' between 10 to 20 years down the road, so that means there's a whole lot of stuff that could have happened in between episode #25 and #26.

I'd like to think Luster Dawn is Starlight and Sunburst's daughter but there's no real evidence of it (yes, her cutie mark is similar to Sunburst's) so I'll let the fans decide with what fanfics they write. I also really like where Gallus ended up after his time at the School of Friendship.

Quite an interesting episode Appledash is now canon, and the new movie is somehow going to bind G4 and G5 together... maybe an AU or a continuation I bet. Thoughts?

Twilight not keeping the Friendship Castle makes about as much sense as the Princess of Friendship ditching the School of Friendship to run a magic school for gifted unicorns.

Wow! Everyone went through puberty and it hit Twilight like the big bang!

Luster Dawn, huh? Princess Twilight’s star pupil and possibly a future protagonist of G5? Interesting…

Oh wow, Flurry Heart is now a princess!

I bet Applegeek is freaking out right now.

Woe. Twilight moved out of Canterlot and in to Ponyville, now she's moving out of Ponyville and back to Canterlot.

The crowd gasping never gets old. Amazement! Shock! Drama! O3O

OMG! Pinkie Pie’s daughter! Does that mean she's… with Cheese Sandwich?! ^3^

Ah, one last musical. Embrace the magic. O3O

OMG! Everything is so different! Lyra and Bon Bon! Derpy! Dinky! Yes! Everything's coming together now! I'm getting a brainwave overload right now! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Thumbs up if you saw Sunset Shimmer.

RIP, All The OGs.

Damn. This episode hits me right in the feels.

Think about it. This show started with a book opening and ended with the book closing.

So… I guess this is it. I enjoyed this episode to the fullest. And I'll never forget this show.

Goodbye, My Little Pony! Goodbye, everyone! See you all in G5!

Lots of love from Micronesia! 🇫🇲 🇲🇵 🇬🇺

So, this is it...

Even though I had already seen it when the leaks came out (and it made me feel pretty... 'odd' for a few days), it doesn't make it any easier :applejackunsure:. And, at the end, when that book closes, it is... you know :pinkiesad2:

Still, I loved the last episode, the only beef I have with the ending is the whole 'Celestia and Luna retiring' thing, but let's leave it.

Let's hope that G5 will come out soon and be as good as G4.

Damn, I need to go, writing this thing hurts :ajsleepy:

Take care everyone.

I launched out of my chair in joy when Lil' Cheese bounced in. Cheese-Pie is canon!

Now we wait for season 10 that is actually a comic continuing the series. Don't know if it's canon though

I'm not quite a Pinkie fanboy, but the fact that she's a mother now and has a daughter is so adorable, so wholesome, y'know?

The official stance of Hasbro and IDW from the start have been that the novels and comics and show are all canon except where they violate each other, at which point you, the fan, get to decide what takes precedence.

I started crying at the end. I couldn't help it.

Farewell G4 MLP you will be missed. "F"

Like the Sombra and Radiant Hope.

I would say the comics are a alternate universe.

Various comic arcs aren't terribly consistent with each other either. Reflections and Fiendship characterize Star Swirl completely differently, for instance.

Well, its time to write some fanfiction then.

This comment will not contain any spoilers.

All I can really say about this episode is that I can't believe it's actually over. I mean, goddamn it's been over 9 years already. And while I may not have been around to see the beginning or most of the middle, I'm pretty happy I was able to see the end.

Now all I can do is re-watch old episodes and see how long the fandom stays together. Even despite the show ending and the decline in popularity, I still have hope we'll be together for a good long time and I hope for a bright future for all of us.

Shit, I'm having the weirdest reaction right now, it's like I want to cry, but can't. Anyway, this was a wonderful epilogue, and from what we could see from the glass panes, apparently the young six defeated their very own monster! Ah, the memories.

Twilight looks interesting, pretty much Celestia, but with her own color pallet.

It's bittersweet to see the main six so old (presumably in their mid to late 40's or 50's). Applejack and Rainbow Dash are living together it seems, and Pinkie (out of all of them) got married and had a kid! Rarity most likely has multiple shops open around Equestria, and finally Fluttershy is living peacefully in her animal sanctuary with Discord.

Spike is super buff... wait a minute, no way... he looks exactly like he imagined himself saving Rarity from the diamond dogs!

It appears Twilight's student will follow in her footsteps. (right down to the millimeter almost)

And so, the show finally comes to an end. I've been watching this show since season one, and i really find it amazing that i have been watching it for nine years. It will be sad to know that there won't be a new episode I can watch during my weekends, and I actually teared up a bit near the end of this ending. Hopefully the team will continue with G5, take what they learned from G4 and make it even better. (I wish it is connected to G4, but having a whole new world made just for it works too)

I think a few fans will leave the site, most stories won't have as much attention thrown at them as they used to, but I hope it doesn't end, because this show was a phenomenon, a show for little girls that pulled in thousands of adults, and somehow went on for 200 plus episodes. I will miss you guys, and if you do leave, goodbye, and just remember, friendship's last, even if they are virtual.

And with a title like that..expect millions of little kids and grown men/women to be crying.

Well, I guess it's time. Everything that was IN the finale, I loved! I thought it was a near-perfect send off. I know some people are going to be angry at the "Frenemies" fate and Twi's ending, but honestly, those were pretty much inevitable.

My only problem with the ending is that it only focused on the six. The show is over, and we have almost no closure on Cadance, Diamond Tiara, or Spike. To the crew's credit, Diamond is not their fault. Jim Miller said on Twitter that they wrote SEVERAL episodes for her that were all denied by Hasbro for unknown reasons. For the Crystal family, I wish we could have had a send off episode explaining Cadance's backstory and how she fits into all of this, plus Flurry Heart's future. Especially since the comics "Have no impact on the show" as Big Jim put it. She didn't even appear in the epilogue, It felt like a wasted opportunity.

As for Spike, despite the crew's insistence that he is a seventh main character, we still know very little about him. Zeppelin, Father Knows Beast, and EP 200 raised a lot of uncomfortable questions about his childhood. Where did Celestia get his egg? And, more importantly, Why did Twilight Velvet and Night Light refuse to treat him as part of the family? Especially since EP 200 showed that they helped raise him? Hell, one of the biggest parts of EP 200 was that Spike was upset about not being considered a third Sparkle child. Plus, his snub in the Zeppelin episode showed that the Sparkle Parents didn't even consider him a part of the family at all. They even consider CADENCE a bigger part of the family than the dragon they helped raise. I have to say, I'm a bit miffed that they didn't clarify or settle this. On the plus side, I LOVE that he is by Twilight's side as a co-ruler. Twilight and Spikes relationship has grown wonderfully over the last few seasons and I'm happy that at least ONE thing involving him turned out all right.

I suppose I'm just being picky about it. All in all, the entire finale was a joy and it gave a reassuring end to Twi's future and one of the best goddamn fantasy worlds EVER! FiMfiction will always be around, so we will always be able to run and play around it! Thank you, So long, and thanks for all the creatures!

While I haven't been an avid viewer of this show, especially recently, I'll never forget the joy of what I did watch brought to me, the characters especially. From what I understand the comics are supposed to bring a "Season 10" of sorts so I guess the story isn't over yet, but it does feel like the end of an era. I'll never forget you, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, thank you for all the memories.

On a side note The Last Problem is a lame name lmao, they should have called it Friendship Will Always Be Magic:derpytongue2:

Well, that's dumb.

I like to think of cartoon characters as being immortal. Why else would Mickey mouse still look young despite being born in the 30's? I can just imagine myself as and old man, and Rainbow dash comes to visit me, looking still young. "Hey, Dash". She walks over and gives me a hug. "Boy, you got old". She says. I hug her back, and with tears in our eyes, I say, "Im so happy to see you again".:pinkiesad2:

You can still see our pony friends. I oftentimes use my imagination and go on adventures with them. Last night, me and Rainbow dash went on a honeymoon to canterlot.:ajsmug:

If she started studying under Twilight early in life, like Twi did under Celestia, she wouldn't be as familiar with Ponyville. Even if her parents lived there.

Damn it, man. You can't just write stuff like that... without the spicy DETAILS :trollestia:

Jokes aside, I have ponies in my head all the time, thinking about possible stories, but it makes me sad that most of them probably won't see the light of day :ajsleepy:

I could easily see Shining and Sunburst being Luster's parents. That being said, I think there's a case to be made that she might be Sunset's kid (BTW, Sunset appeared in one of the character collages during the last song, so she's kinda sorta maybe canon now).
